Thanks for making this video. I have been reading up on the Hebridean windvane and thinking of building one. Your video helps with the operation of setting the angle to the wind, and control lines side of things.
Thanks for the great video series. It's January 2020. The website to purchase the kit and plans no longer exists. Would you be willing to sell your copy of the plans? Or a copy of them?
Hi Richard the plans etc went with the boat. The website is still running www.windvaneselfsteering.co.uk/wind-vane-kit-costs-plans.htm?LMCL=nIxltW I just had a look
Hi Ian. Thanks for these videos. I am half way through my Hebridean build! Something to do during lockdown while I'm not sailing! One question - I noticed you went from the last video where the tiller lines go to their corresponding side whereas in this video the control lines cross over. Is there something I'm missing? Thanks
Hi, the routing varied during sea trials to get the best angles and least friction. At all times there is a cross over to reverse the action of the servo rudder. It may have looked different in the earlier video as at least one turning block was removed from each side. Plans show some options. Ia
A beautiful film.
I am glad you enjoyed it, thank you for your kind comment
Thank you for the excellent videos. I've completed my Hebridean and have fitted it to a Sadler 34. Your clarity of explanation has been priceless.
Glad to hear that you found the videos useful. Thanks for the kind words. Good luck with the Hebridean I at sure you will find it works well.
