This pie is absolutely wonderful! Two days later and halfway through the pie, my husband came home with strawberries. Oh yes, I had to cut one up and eat it with my slice of chocolate cream pie. Wow, such a treat! Thank you for sharing this recipe Marie, and it was so easy to make!

    To all reading this:
4 hours was not enough for my pie to completely set. The second time I made it precisely the same but waited 6 hours... & did the trick!!

Hi Jane! Thank you so much for watching and the unbelievably kind words! 🥰 It’s just me with two cameras in my kitchen by myself (although sometimes the dog, cats, kids or husband stop in to visit!), so saying that my videos look professional is a huge compliment. Thank you. I’m on summer vacation with my family right now but hope to be back in the kitchen soon. Stay tuned and, as always, feel free to send requests for anything you’d like to see ❤️, Marie

You were amazing and I adore the pie crust recipe and this entire video. You are very detailed and everything you say is clear and makes sense and it makes me feel now that I can once again make an excellent piecrust. The best piecrust I ever made was when I was 18 years old and made a homemade apple pie my first six weeks in college. Period, I was never able to make the pie crust again and lost complete courage in myself. So now I think I can and it’s because of your wonderful recipe and because of the detailed way you explained it. You seem to be extremely on the ball absolutely darling.

When watching your video on how to make pie pastry (for me) you give exact measurements which is exactly what I need. A lot of pie pastries insinuate go by the feel of the dough. If you are trying to learn how do you go by feel?
Once you make this pie pastry several of times you will learn how it’s to feel, how to repair the pastry, what it needs help with, etc.
Thank you so much for your video and I can’t wait to try it. 💙

    Marie,
I backed this crust this pie dough crust for the Chocolate Pie Pudding that you demonstrated in your video for Thankscgive Dinner this year of 2023.
I have to say I loved this pie dough using real butter 🧈 instead of using Crisco Shortening it is Asome. In addition, the chocolate pudding recipe of yours had a delious recipe as well as the pie crust. The whipping creame recipe was also a delicious recipe of yours, too..
This Chocolate Pudding Pie recipe is a delicious recipe and excellent taste as well!

Hi Nancy. I have used lard in pie crusts, bread and other dishes and it is FABULOUS! It adds a great flavor without being "too much" and made pastries extra flakey and light. You are lucky to have non-commercial lard. By the way, if you pour the hot rendered lard into loaf pans and freeze it, you can slice up portions, wrap them in waxed paper and re-freeze. That way one piggie's lard will last quite a while and you'll have a good stash of lard for baking, cooking. Home fries (potatoes) made with lard is AWESOME !!!

This pie is one of the best I've ever made. The whole family loved it! I didn't use the pie crust though. I made a Nutella, graham cracker crust and used that instead. So delicious, thank you for sharing!
