    I have gotten similar mileage myself. I drive a diesel manual. If you drive around 90kmph, rather cruise, you would be surprised by the mileage. Four people with continuous AC set to 25°c and 15 days worth of luggage,ample use of cruise control, I actually got a 20 kmpl. Tank full to tank full. The MID showed 21.4kmpl, but to be honest, there isn't much of an error. However, anything over 90kmph, the wind drag increases and the mileage drastically goes down, but have always given me around 16kmpl though. The mantra however is the cruise control and the right gear. I wouldn't however blindly follow the gear shift indicator to select the right gear. I have been driving way too long to let an MID dictate which gear I need to select. And if you need guidance from the MID to select the right gear, I would recommend the automatic.

    Hats off to your patience. I can't drive with 80kmph for such long distance . Just came back from Mumbai to Dharwad yesterday night in my sunny xv petrol manual with 16kmpl driving at 110 to 120. Note: no road exist between belgavi to satara. It's hell of road.

      It is better to take Pune - Solapur -Vijayapura - Hospete - Chitradurga - Bengaluru route which has far better roads.. The rennovation in the Satara route may take years to complete.....

    I can relate this video with my drive to Mumbai from Chikamagalure in April month. The mileage of my diesel Manual Z8L was almost the same. In fact on my return journey the mileage was even more as most of the road after Pune was in decline. I had travelled with my family and parents.

    With government's push towards ethanol blended fuel(EBMG)ngl I'm quite apprehensive of the near future. My car's manual specifically says no more than E10 blend and yet I'm clueless what I'm filling at the bunk. IOCL's XP100 is E15. While diesels are safe atm. The thing govt is chasing is far from ideal. Alas we can wait and only hope atleast we have the alternative.
    Nonetheless I enjoy the mellow vibes of your videos and hope you continue to do them whenever possible. Cheers.

      Thank you. I truly feel your concern. It's sad that the government wants to implement so much in such little time. History has it that these hasty decisions have never given fruitful results, at least not for the consumer/common man. Let's see what future holds. Fingers crossed.

    Thats very good mileage.. looks like u drove around 1800 rpms.. they should make the gears a little tall so it can cruise over 100 at 1800 rpm.. that will save time too.. my mahindra never gave me more than 17 on highway drives.. the VW dsg is able to manage 22 plus in summers and 25 in winters cos it hits 120 around 2k rpm.. even my mercedes does 120 below 2k rpm.. thats very helpful really.. scorpio n is soooooooo much better than the previous ones.

    Just to let you know on the basis of video trip bangalore - nagpur - Delhi, we did a road trip bangalore /Nagpur / bangalore. It was fun driving on stretch especially Telegana road lot of greenery, enjoyed Biryani at Paradise as suggested since we reached noon time in hyderabad. Left bangalore 4 am. The mileage I got was was 19 km to liter on automatic Z8.
    Net I wish to drive bangalore - Mumbai. Wish you could tell which route you took to Mumbai

      That's great.
      This trip to Mumbai was: Bng-Tumkur-Hubli-Belagavi-Karad-Satara-Pune-Mumbai using NH48. The roads are good till Belagavi with few constructions going on in between. But from Belagavi to Satara there is plenty of construction which is why people opt for Bng-Tumkur-Chitradurga-Hosapete-Vijayapura-Solapur-Pune-Mumbai.

    This was a great informative video, I’m driving to Mumbai from Bangalore on this Thursday the 7th Nov in a BMW 3 series, planning to leave early morning and I have a couple of questions if you would kindly answer;
    1. Is this the best route or is there an alternate.
    2. Any personal restaurant suggestions during the journey

    • @mukulslens
      @mukulslens  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks. There is an alternate and highly recommended one.
      Bangalore-Chitradurga-Hosapete-Vijayapura-Solapur-Pune-Mumbai.
      It's longer but the road conditions are just perfect for mile munching. Less than 2-3 constructions spots if I remember.
      My recommendation if you plan to take the said route would be to breakfast before Tumkur as the availability of restaurants are great. Between Chitradurga and Vijapura restaurants availability is not so great and might not cater to everyone's taste (snack up ). Between Solapur and Pune you can find plenty of restaurants again.
      However if you decide to take NH48( Blr-Hubli-Belagavi-Pune-Mumbai) you have options all the way.
      All the best and have a safe drive. 🙂

    • @mukulslens
      @mukulslens  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Your right, it's MT 4WD. Manual gives freedom to shift up at will. I guess that's the only reason. I usually like to put a tape on fuel efficiency drives as a reminder for me to not speed unnecessarily.

    I know you have tried to figure out the mileage on full tank to almost empty.
