  • This video was made by me in Tunisia, May 2015. EDIT: YTs anti-shake function shook up the outro, sorry for that it was not intended
    Special thanks to Paul Fothergill, who helped me choosing the music for this video.

    Awesome video! That soldier could be a Dark Soul's boss hahaha. Amazing animals. What kind of consciousness they have? I'm here because of an article stating that they are fastest ants in the world!

    They are amazing, I still don't understand this digging behaviour at the entrance. What do they do that for?

    • @antsfinland2760
      @antsfinland2760 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It's more eficient at digging out the sand than picking it up with their mandibles

    • @uptimusprime7643
      @uptimusprime7643 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      EACH TIME SAND BLOWS THE AREA OF THE ENTRANCE GETS SMALLER EACH DIGGING MAKES IT EASY TO MAINTAIN THE AREA.

      @@uptimusprime7643 so you think it is preventive digging? as in the entrance is not blocked yet but if they don't do it all the time it will close?

      Occultus Ants I had the chance to cross one of these ants in Timimoun, a wonderful Algerian desert with a magical pinky red sand, the ant came near to me I could admire it very well, it seemed to tell me "hello, I never saw you here before, who are you?... Look how beautiful I am... Bye" :) That was one of the best memory I have of that place, you should go there my friend ;)
