Amazing video, brother! This has been one of your best videos (or maybe the best one!). Thank you very much. All we need is an apple like this video everyday to keep negative thoughts away! If I were you, I'd just unleash the child in me and jump face first into the mud and the water (without injuring myself)!
Long-term stress (chronic) can shorten your life, and may also contribute to early dementia. I know this first-hand... I'm age 58 and I developed PPA-Logopenic (an FTD), and I've been given a prognosis of 2 to 3 years to live. ADHD has been with me most of my life, but I took the stressful route, attempting to live a normal life no matter how stressful it became for me. IMHO, you have chosen your life path wisely. Best wishes.
Please never stop making these videos. This channel is getting better and better, I'm telling you, I love the new comeback. I feel less alone, less of a failure, and as you said, even though it's not real, I somehow connect with you, it's kinda like talking to a friend who understands you and knows how it is. I have a terrible issue with self steam, I don't think I'm capable of anything and that breeds a lot of anxiety and depression. I fucked up a relationship because I thought I wasn't happy, when in fact I wasn't happy with myself. Thank you for everything. I wish we could hang in real life lol.
Thank you so much for this video. I can't exactly put into words how this made me feel. I've been stuck as a person for... years now. Never seeming to find a way out of the rut the world and myself have set me on. But I'm going to keep searching, trying and working towards finding the life I want to have. And I'll be bringing you along with me. Keep going. What you do makes a difference.
Just happen to find your channel now. You have incredible insight and a unique way of presenting it. Don’t stop making these videos, they are so valuable. I did the Camino a number of years back and without a doubt, it was the most profound experience of my life. “Just walking” for a month really left me re-energized to take on life again. Although, I have to say that it’s probably time for another similar venture. Anyhow. Take care and look after yourself.
“oh, I’ve stepped in a puddle, great” 😂 your adhd videos were always very helpful for me, happy to see your new direction and am truly so happy for you! I have had a very similar mindset the last few years and have found peace for myself as well. thanks for sharing, keep up the great content (:
I am new to your channel after my CBT therapist told me that I meet the criteria for Inattentive ADHD so, I'm here educating myself on this deep dive of your content. I know it'll be a long journey but things are falling into place so thank you!
Love this Stuart. Thank you. I love being in nature and also I always have peace and quiet at home. I love soft lighting and candles. I rarely turn on the TV or even music. I just love peace and quiet. These days I especially love sitting on my porch and listening to the sounds of nature mixed with my neighbors happy voices enjoying life.
I am very grateful you started making videos again. Your production and videography have got to another level, not to mention how much your videos have helped me clear out my own cobwebs, even before the pandemic. Im 35, lived alone for 3 years now, no kids, diagnosed with inattentive ADD at 30, troubles with addiction.... I wouldn't have it any other way. Side note - 2 weeks sober, again, after 5 years of sobriety. Back on the horse, and REALLY want to move to Wales and check out Brecons Beacon now. Might do that.
Really resonate with the part at 6:40 where you talked about getting lost in day to day life and losing your self. Happened this summer. I couldn’t always be physically alone so I would put my headphones in and listen to music. I would do this for my walks (there always seemed to be people around) and when I painted. This faked solitude really helped.
Right?! Ohh my that’s so true. Having a house full of family there’s never time alone. Someone always needs something. Getting lost with the day to day is easy, finding the way out and not getting lost again is hard.
Great cinematography! I'm not sure if this is color graded or if you had amazing light, but this is an aesthetically beautiful installment. If you crave solitude, try minimalist backpacking. After the first five miles or so you won't find a soul.
Thanking you is not enough to cover the immeasurable gratitude I have for your helpful reassuring words. I look forward to the amelioration your videos will have for everyone watching including myself.
"Peace, quiet, and freedom" is a beautiful way of phrasing it. I would just like to put forward that mindfulness meditation is a great way to manifest that sense in oneself when escaping to an isolated locale is not possible. 15-20 minutes of sitting quietly every day really is enough to disperse a bit of the fog of urban chaos on the mind.
I practice mindfulness every day now, has made a massive difference to my life. Helps with my adhd, my tolerance levels, my stress levels. Daily Calm app is amazing. I also feel a LOT happier when I drag my butt to yoga or Sh’bam or Zumba classes. But walking my dogs around the lakes, canal and forests where I live is just free therapy. Totally chills me out.
Omg wow, you just said 1 sentence that has really resonated with me and I can feel it in my soul. Just simply saying “It’s ok, and you’re gonna be alright” has given me the motivation to continue down my path of getting a diagnosis. I’m 42yrs old and have only come to the realisation that I may have ADHD in the last 18months. I’ve been waiting for the “formal diagnosis” for about the same amount of time, but the amount of research I have sought has all led me to the self diagnosis stage. After being diagnosed with a lot of the standard co-morbidities associated with ADHD, such as depression, anxiety, low self esteem, type 2 diabetes and the list just goes on. I really feel I can relate to your content, and out look on life. It seems to really resonate with me and I just wanted to comment on here to let you know, you’re doing a great job and have really helped me. Thank you from the deepest roots of my soul 👍😇
Your videos make me so happy 😊 Especially this one, where your background is so beautiful! Thank you for doing what you do and thank you for giving a voice to those of us who cannot express their needs effectively in this difficult world. xo
Allah/God bless bro! The beauty of nature, is it quenches our brains with the richness and complexity it offers at the micro and macro levels. Almost as if we're not meant to be constrained between boring flat walls :)
True i recently woke up at 4am and could not sleep and went for a walk in nearby forrest at 6am, this early there are no people and all you can hear are the birds and the wind. You dont need to drive for miles. Just choose a time when nobody is around.
Thank you Stuart for your genuine way of explaining the importance of seeking out a place of solitude so I cant be "distracted" by people and city life and also tv around me, which is so damn easy for me to do. They are all ways that I forget to focus on myself. I also love your backdrop there with the mouintains.. So peaceful ad tranquil. LOve it.
I been wondering how you were doing for a while, so I was glad that you seem to be just fine and also that you're back😊 I like the change and I even prefer it.. I hope you continue, to just do you,for you're own wellbeing..
I just discovered this channel and just wanted to say how much I can relate to all the videos as a fellow introvert with ADHD. Simplifying my life is definitely the best thing I have done for myself, despite having the biggest FOMO. And I do wish I could work part-time so I could focus more on creative hobbies. I hope to somehow find a way to do that or, in best case scenario, retire early and move to the woods to become a shaman or a wizard 😂
Thanks for taking the time to make these videos. Im 34 and have only just realised that I have ADHD, hearing your experiences has really helped me come to terms with how I've felt all my life. Such an amazing feeling, actually knowing why I feel the way I do. 🤘👍🤘👍🤘
Not liking people and living on a densely populated island must be tough. I love being a Kiwi and being able to find so many secluded spots in isolation. It's great for all the reasons you mentioned. Kia Kaha man.
Oh, I enjoyed that! It probably helps that I can relate to the way you describe your life in many ways; but I also have a limited tolerance for people who are coming from the perspective of, "I .was. searching, but now I have it all together, & this is what YOU need to do!" That lifestyle-salesman approach. I appreciate that you're still working through the big (& small) issues, stopping to analyze & share suggestions along the way.
I just found your channel recently as I was looking for resources to do with ADHD. Your old videos are still very helpful and I am greaful for the effort you have put in and am excited to see where your content goes next. Please leave the old videos in place as they are still helpful for people like me who have just started their journey in understanding themselves and their ADHD.
Totally correct, to go into nature to reduce Cortisol & the urban clutter. Mountains beach, lakes & water, forests whatever works loving the open spread content 👍.
Love your new content (and your old content ofc) 🤩 I think it was a great idea to make these kinds of videos! Your insight on mental health topics is great imo! I especially appreciate your commentary on introversion. I still feel like there's a lot of pressure from society to go out every weekend and be hypersocial, or at least a pressure to spend most of your free time WITH someone else instead of alone. I prefer to spend most of my free time alone, and people around me think I'm weird 😅 Anyways, I feel more grounded after watching your content, and I think I'm not alone in that. You are always very calm and reassuring, which makes for a great influencer imo!
I go for a 6am walk and evening “ramble.” I liken myself to Snufkin from Moominvalley books. Just got back from my 6am walk under the moonlight, it was blissful. I live by the sea and also avoid people.
This is awesome! I always feel better out in nature too. Nature is my "go to" for mental clarity and stress release. I need to get back out there. Love your new content...thought provoking and things I think about daily. I feel like you are chatting with me in my brain...lol. It's really beautiful where you are walking/hiking. I'm looking forward to your next video.
