Never ever seen that many flattys in one spot in such a short time, epic trip. I've had several nights where I've caught 2 or 3, but that's just unreal.
I was blown away myself. I suppose if ya fish enough, crazy stuff happens every once in a while.
I cant tell you how many fish we have lost trying to pull them up on the shore! Never sits well losing a big fish. There's always the next time!

80 percent of the big ones seem to don't know there hooked, for me, just kinda come along untill they see the boat and then they go nuts. First trip to boat means nothing as to how big they are so we always hold on just in case. Great vid and those are the size we like to fill the freezer with. Keep your powder dry and your pantry stocked young man 💪😎

@2:35 them jumping spiders are the only spiders that i do like lol. They wont harm u unless ur inflicting damage to them. Most the time they jump outta my hands to try to get away lol. Theyre highly intelligent too.

Wow! That looked like it was a good night Spencer, heck yeah, well alrighty then! Cool! I just remembered that Me and my Uncle ( or Paw, what I always called him) we had a couple of different nights pretty darn good too, on the Great Miami River ( Middletown) , way back in late 90’s or early 2000’s, the first good night we had, we caught 17 flatheads, half of them were under 10lbs and two were over 30. But our second time we hit a good night I believe we caught 22 and not all flatheads, there was was a few channel rats that were in the teens, I don’t mind channels when they are that size. Man I sure miss those days or nights, whatever.

I had a evening like that once in my life. 14 in 2 hours, all running about the exact same, 20-22 lbs, so much the same I began scraping them along the back fin to mark. Never caught the same one twice. Didn't know there were that many in the Chariton river total. Then just shut off. Still using the same bait, but after a couple of hours and not a nib I went home.
Ol' timer said they do that some years. He called it the fall fattening swoop. They just school up and cruse sucking in everything they find to eat. If he was right it doesn't happen often. Those years I spent more time on banks than my actual job, never happened again.

That had to be an awesome night of fishing for sure!! I remember a time about two or three years ago hear in Iowa out east I had a night like that with the kitties!! They weren’t as big but one about every 15 to 20 minutes it was definitely a blast for sure!!!
