I had 2 seagulls get tangled in one of my lines, at the same time. I was lucky, there was a guy on the pier that had a pocket knife to help cut them free when I landed them.

Why dont you like channels? We dont get blues this far up the susky, ive caught both flats and channels and channels are by far my favorite. Although it does suck they usually only bite livers but the fight lb for lb to me is worth it

That was a really GOOD Blue you got. When I was learning how to catch a Channel up at Indian Lake, Oh back about 1948 I was always told to take my time with a cat and wait for them to take the bait. I would spend 30 to 60 minutes waiting. Those that helped me said if you didn't wait you more than likely were going to pull the bait and hook right out of their mounths!!
