I looked at their kickstarter and they seem to bash VR a lot, don't think it's a good marketing strategy considering who they market this to :p :p

  •  4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

Quite cool with 5K in such a small form factor.
A question not related to this product. What VR gloves would you recommend today in Nov 2020? Personally, I'm a bit surprised VR gloves isn't a bigger thing. To me, being able to use your own hands rather than a hand controller would be very interesting to most people. I like to think it will be a given in a few years time. Where we'll laugh thinking of how we used clumsy hands controllers in the past.
I've been looking into the sensoryx VRfree Gloves and I'm tempted to get them. What's holding me back is the rather hefty price plus they are currently only available on backorder.
Would be super interesting if you based on your knowledge and experience with VR could make a clip dedicated to VR gloves. What's out there today, what's around the corner in the near future etc.
    Thanks for all great content!

Something I don't get with VR gloves, is that since there is no joystick, how do you move around ? Do you make a gesture and it teleports you ? So no free moving around ?

    •  4 ปีที่แล้ว

I'm not sure but I think you use some gesture. Below is a link to a clip where the sensoryx VRfree gloves are used for playing Half-Life: Alyx. Looks really cool IMO!

    It's not 5K....with a resolution of 2*2560*2560 (5K) , you've 6,5 millions pixels PER eye ! To have 5K , you need around 15mp PER eye*...
    Anyway, considering that the Quest2
is 1832x1920 per eye (3,75mp), we can hope this kind of better screen for our VR headset in the future
2000 nits is a good value for transmit the light across a pancake lens too.
*5K resolution refers to display formats with a horizontal resolution of around 5,000 pixels. The most common 5K resolution is 5120 × 2880, which has an aspect ratio of 16∶9 with around 14.7 million pixels

I actually replied to you to know more about the issue. I contacted them as well, but no answer yet

      @@TyrielwoodSorry, I haven't received any mail.
What information do you need? I tried to contact them for months via any channel possible, and so did the other Kickstarter backers.
No response, no update. Same for indiegogo. What else do you need?

Those look very home made. I hope they aren't over charging for those and they have insurance to send them back if the break. I kind of see it as a money grab even if it's under $100 for them cause of those facts already there.
