Quick and dirty alignment tip from video: "Looking from the drivers side wheel up at the tie rod adjusting coupler: turning coupler clockwise will move steering wheel to the left. Turning couple counterclockwise will move steering wheel to the right. Half a turn of the coupler equals about 1 inch of turn in the steering wheel"
Did yours have a lot of play before u removed it? I can literally almost twist mine lol. Iam thinking that’s where my clunk sound is coming from when I hit bumps. Everything else check out good. Do you have part numbers as well. Thanks
My old one had tones of twist play. I still have a small clunk when turning tight right hand corners sometimes... I think it is the leaf spring bushings. Not sure what the part number is, I got it at Napa.
Sorry to chime in a year after the fact, but my 02 F250 had a phantom clunk on bumps. I would grab and shake everything I could find and never found anything loose or worn. One day the truck was sitting in the driveway and I was getting aggravated over the clunk, I grabbed the passenger side sway bar end link (which I had grabbed probably 25 time before) and you guessed it, bushings were shot. I guess it was sitting just the right spot that the sway bar was unloaded. Btw, thanks for the upload, that adjustment is exactly what I was trying to find. Going to have to do mine soon. Thought it's kinda funny cause in your video you mention Memorial Day and here it is Memorial Day Weekend.
Solid axle vehicles like Ford Superduty, Ram and Jeep wrangler and have drag link style steering. IFS (Independent front suspension) can use a rack and pinion.

Thanks for the video man! My drag link is toast and this video helped a lot 👍👍
You talk to much waste of time
What was the length from the one end link to the other? I just changed mine and it’s still super off and I used tape to try and make it the same
Wandering on mine was wheel bearings
Did you install the pitman tie rod with the shipping cap on the boot?

Why do larger trucks have this type of steering system? Is there a benefit to it?

j mcfie i know, it just seems like a lot of tension would be placed on those ball joints and steering box gears.
