@@hunkyhaggis2161. It was done by Dr. Mehta from Grand Blanc, MI. Not sure if the cost because still waiting to see how much the total bill will be. The national average is around $10,000, but the range is $7500 - $15,000. My procedure is covered by Medicare and my Supplement insurance.

Swedish guy here who has death anxiety after I discovered this on myself at the beginning of April. Every day is a pain and all the attention is only about these horrible things. Right now I'm ready to go to the ends of the earth to get these removed, or lay down and die. My doctor said it never goes away completely, but people get used to it. I didn't want to believe him. Here is my question for you. Did your floaters really go away after the treatment, or did you just get used to it?

I’ve had them for 3 years now since. I got them at 26 and they still look the same. I had a laser vitrectomy twice and didn’t see a difference. I’m going to try this

I had a lot of floaters in my left eye. My doctor here in Germany made a core vitrectomy. He removed the centre. A lot of them are gone and he will remove the rest in the new year. My right eye is next up in december. A lot of them are in my right eye :)

I've had floaters my whole life which have been steadily getting worse. Used to be I could only see them against plain settings like a blue sky but now it's just a constant moving constellation against any background. I talked to various doctors over the years about it; I was always mystified how they seemed to just ignore my complaints. One finally said yeah you can do a vitrectomy and I was like ha, yeah, nah. I was hoping there'd be a pill or eye drops or something reasonable. Yeah nah you're not sticking a needle in my eye and draining my eye juice GTFO LOL.

There's just no way. Just accept doing Vitrectomy or forget about getting rid of them

The eye is a closed system. Meaning nothing goes in it and nothing goes out. Whatever floaters are in your eye will be there until you die. The only way to get rid of them is to literally go in and suck them out. "a pill?" lmao yeah dream on buddy. No such thing exists. And wtf would eye drops do?... floaters are INSIDE of your eye. Eyedrops aren't gonna do anything.

@@lasalachats5251 Interesting. Never heard of that approach, watched the video. I've gotten used to it at this point and my brain seems to be keeping up with just screening it out of my mind for the most part but it's nice to know there's something short of the most egregious invasiveness as an option if I get to the point I can't stand it anymore.

I had a vitrectomy in each eye when I was 53 after dealing with floaters for 40 years. They were really bad. Both vitrectomies were successful, but then I got cataracts when I was 65 (my dad, who never had vitrectomies, had cataracts when he was 65 also, so I don't really blame those on the vitrectomies). Anyway, when I got my cataracts fixed, ie, surgery, I got really bad floaters in each eye again. Now I want to get another vitrectomy.
