Because this was a less aggressive and one of the weakest species of pheidole. If it were the strong and fearless species, then only one worker would had pulled that termite soldier towards the nest and everyone would had killed it brutally.
I would say a larger pheidola species. But yes a more aggressive pheidole would have made both side lose far more members with the termite soldiers being driven back
It's because the major are much more valuable for the colony than the worker, and they both know that. The major are the frontline in an all out war or against really big prey, but a single worker is not a big loose against for the colony, their lives don't matter as long as the colony stand. That's why they are far more careless
But if both the majors attacked then they would have been defeated but idk about these ants if it was fire ants the termite would have been dead by 10 minutes
This is not surprising at all. The smaller fire ants (workers) give the most painful bite. They are also more aggressive than their larger counterparts.

It's an ant story...A work of fiction. Where in reality will a termite go on challenging ant colony. But it is not orchestrated. Just a story spun out of footages shot in the wild, and yes some clever editing.
Hey i had a question why didnt that major’s sisters came to help that major and ants like to hord their enemys so how can a solo termite soldier survive and the moment when the colony was changing its home the termite was confrinted by a supermajor but why didnt the rest of the colony got mad and overwelmed the termite they could have easily took the termite down with the full man power or should i say ant power
As u see these Ants are very tiny species of Pheidole Ants... And also these Ants are shy type living mostly in cold dark places. And they are not that aggressive. And a termite equalling the size of their major is a huge challenge for them.
Unbelievable! I use to think the pheidole soldiers are the bravest of ants but the workers are more of fighters and brave here. I remember seeing a video of pheidoles fighting with army ants. The soldiers defended the workers and helped them flee with eggs while soldiers fought the army ants much larger than themselves and gave their life and also killing some army ants. And army ants even have a stinger and live in much larger number. This video is really surprising for me. I thought that soldier will destroy the termite in seconds. Pheidoles even defeat the aggressive fire ants and other types of ants. I have a pheidole ant colony in the planting pot.
Glad to know that you hv seen the war between Army Ants & Pheidole. I have tracked the Aenictus Army ants for months and watch them loot and raid multiple Pheidole Ant Colony...Good numerous footages...But too long too edit....Will surely post them in days to come.
@@AntsKingdomAsia army ants and pheidole will be interesting. And your previous video was also surprising where the grip of ant on termite became loose. In my colony, I threw a live mosquito and the worker pheidole had such a grip on its head that mosquito flew here and there around the plant pot and still the ant had a grip on it. The mosquito was 4-5 times larger.
What pissed off that termite,it was beating its head to alert other termites, but its alone,so did a random termite just have enough of the ant colonys shit and went out with a thirst for blood

That was nice...lol
That termite going to valhalla for sure
I was rooting for the termite from the start he was a terminator

I’m so confused how the ant that’s smaller and not supposed to fight dropped the termite that beat two warrior ants

The Termite soldier probably starved to death as they can't feed themselves due to their mouth shape. Worker Termites feed the soldiers.

I didn't think a ant worker could be useful for not only building but also for defence

I think they generally would do that but it wasn’t a serious threat to the colony
That's gae move.
Very orchestrated and much unlikely to happen in real world. Termites never venture alone in the wild, far from the nest or from a foraging party.

Is this colony farely young because ants usually swarm
In reality termite are not so much of a match for the Ants. But not only the size of the colony is too big, but the Ants are also small sized....
It must be because these ants are not like fire ants buuut they are like carpenters
I love your storys but its so sad that the ants won 😭
NOOOOOOOOO termite soldier!
Only termite queens and kings have eyes so the termite saw nothing
You are absolutely correct... However this is just a fictional story so the creative liberty.
Termites? Imagine talking about keeping a really low cost colony
That bigheaded ant soldgers was a super major right
In Pheidoles there are no super majors unlike in Carebara Ants.
