    Great video Carl. I find Flags to be very helpful. To take things one step further, you can rename the individual flag colors. For example, my red flag is rename Action Item, orange flag is renamed Waiting for Response, etc. Since I've been doing this for years, I have my personal color memorized. Then I can carry it over when I'm on my iOS device.

    Carl-Great job with this video. Apple Mail has made a tremendous amounts of improvements in the last 2 years.
    I use the scheduled send all the time. There are so many factors where that feature applies.
    Hide my email is another very good feature to use often

    Thanks for the video, lots of insight, as always. 👍 I see that this is about the Mac Mail app. However, there is this one thing on the iOS version of Mail that I never could solve, and I am guessing a lot of users experience the same issue: When composing an email on iPad or iPhone, I sometimes copy/paste some text portions from other sources. Oftentimes, after inserting such a text portion, it differs from the rest of the text in style or size. Even though Im using Apple Mail for decades now, I never found a solution to this behavior. Do you have an idea how to format or adjust all text to be of similar size and type in such a case?

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Ah, I've not found how to do this either. There are two ways I deal with this. The first is to respond to emails from my Mac. If that is not possible and I do need to paste text from another document, I use Drafts to paste the text into. This puts it into basic text, and then I can paste that into the email.

      @icoco_de 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Carl_Pullein Thank you for your kind reply, Carl. I've tried a similar workaround via Notes app, without success however. I'll give Drafts a try, or maybe another similar app that will convert into plain text. Thank you anyway for your videos. They have already helped me a lot. 👍

    Hi Carl, thanks for a great video again. However, the thing that irritates me about about Apple mail is that I often get emails where it says there is "no content" in it. If I look on my iphone the content is there but not the desktop version. Have you ever experienced this? If so how do you resolve it?

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I do get those types of emails from time to time--around two or three a week. When I get them, I open up my Gmail webpage and deal with them from there. Out of the approximately 560 emails I get each week, 3 is only 0.5% of my emails. I can live with that.

    I find the scheduled email only works if the computer is active. I tried to schedule emails for 2am UK to arrive in Australia at the start of their business day but because my machine goes to sleep they don't get sent. If the machine needs to be awake, I may as well stay up late and send it myself 😕

    Gosh I'm so used to having 50 folders so I can go back to specific email, from a specific company on a specific topic. How do you manage to get around that with from what it looks like 3 folders, nothing topical??? Regards

    • @Carl_Pullein
      @Carl_Pullein  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I use search if I need anything specific. I'll also link an email to a project note if it's important to a project (you can drag and drop emails into most notes apps). This does away with the need for multiple folders.

    love Mail for Mac however there seems to be a strange issue with using Mail with an on- prem exchange service - emails send with Mail (using On Prem Exchange) seem to send the text of an email as a separate attachment along with any graphics in the email signature - anyone else experiencing this ?

    the outlook app on android works just like it work on computer but on apple its graphics and options are limited its hard to differentiate between read and unread mails, Apple default Mail app is not very convenient and very out dated, for example in a thread of email communication on same subject you have to scroll all the way down to find the attachment and not on the email itself. very annoying.

    LOL The Mac OS version has everything you need - except the ability to update!! I - and apparently tens of thousands of others had a great mail system until Big Sur. Suddenly fonts are wacky across the board. I've spent hours on chat and phone with Apple "help" (lol) who always ask, "Did you restart in safe mode?" as if that could fix a font problem! Thousands report every individual letter turned into a question mark and the "solution" was a long, complicated task (from an amateru) involving unknown files that are deleted, changed, renamed, changing a host of settings, special restarts, etc In other words, something no one but a savvy tech guy would attempt.
    I love Apple and have Ipads, phones, an imac, etc but their inability to solve this problem / offer an update is infuriating. We should not have to work for weeks, contact others in similar plights, undertake deep research, etc

    Hi Carl, I’m so fed up (not with you). I’m beginning to wish i did not buy the M2 IPad Pro and got a MacBook instead. It seems all the good stuff i need is always on OS. i so hope Apple can give IOS these hidden gems too. Most TH-cam videos on this subject as well as gmail always have the desktop versions. Other than the two subscriptions you advised me to look at (which are very good) its very limited.
