Average Rider VS GOLSPIE'S WILDCAT BLACK TRAIL! SCOTLAND

- I head to the east coast of Scotland to ride the Highlands Black Wildcat Trail at Golspie!
The climb is quite tough but apparently there is an easier way via fire road.
Plus the top section proved challenging for my skill level. Did I survive?

Greetings from Alicante….. home of the rocky mountainous trails. Really enjoyed watching. Looks a great trail.
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I've heard it's rocky down there!
I've been looking at east coast Spain for a winter trip and watched a few videos......
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂🤙
Great footage!! up there in May so crossing finger the weather is kind! Fly a drone as well.. what did you use and did you set just to follow you?
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
Good luck with the weather 🤞🤞🤞 hopefully you will be as lucky as I was.....
I have a Skydio 2 drone, it is made to be a follow cam. If you can get hold of one they are way better than anything else at the moment.
I love watching someone ride the way i ride a few runs on this would be great Exerlant video
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it is a great trail!!
Golspie needs to be done at speed as it’s pretty horrible going slow. It’s got great flow once you learn it. Fort those that don’t like big scary drop offs, then you can miss the top bit and do the quick fun stuff through the trees. Good idea on a crappy weather day…….
After doing it slowly, I totally agree 👍 speed is your friend! I wish I had had more time, it must be a great trail to do at speed with confidence 🙂👍
The section in the trees is super fun, good to know that is good if the weather is a bit dodgy 👍
Liking your videos, great to gauge what I may be capable of and enjoy. I'd not heard of this place, looks interesting (I like rocky stuff).
How long (distance and ascent) is the climb to top?
Thanks 👍
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
The climb I did is 5.2km and 300m of ascent. There is a fire road ascent as well. If I went back I would use the fire road, but if you like rocky technical ascent give the wildcat ascent a go 🙂🤙
About an hour to the top. Don’t muck about with the fire road access, the tech ascent is way better and has some flatter bits to give you a breather.
That looks epic
I bet your would have cleared 90% of the features on a second run down, you might have needed a huge cup of coffee before it though!
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I would have loved to have had the time to do a second run!!!
You are right, I would have been more committed🙂
Great video, really well put together. I really appreciate watching someone at a similar level to me and that trail looks amazing. Keep up the good work. 😊
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I'm glad you are enjoying the video's and finding them useful 🙂
Its the exposure that freaks you out on this one! we rode it in slippy rain and it was scary!
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I had perfect conditions, I bet it is sketchy as in the rain 😶
Dude, you could have ridden every one of those features, more speed and commitment is all you need. Good video though
Thanks for watching 🙂🤙
You are totally right 👍
I wish I had had more time to do another run, I would have been more committed and ridden quicker 👍
On par with Swinley 🤯
Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I've not found that trail at Swinley 😂🤣
I haven't ridden babymaker for a while 😜
@@SearchMTB swinley has hardly any elevation and the trails are whack! Golspie is a good trail centre black but a long way away for most!!
Golspie is a long way, I'm from the south coast of England!
I have a mate that lives in Crowthorn, so I have ridden Swinley a few times but mostly ride Peaslake if I'm up there
But if you head to Scotland Golspie is well worth the effort to ride!
@@SearchMTB I’ve done Golspie,Balblair & Inverness mast on that side and I’m near Fod.
I'm heading back up to Scotland in the spring. I had Balblair on my list but I ran out of time 😕
I spoke to someone at Laggan that rode Inverness mast all the time, I'm not sure where that is ... I'll have to do some more research 🙂👍
