2.71:1 gears? Did I hear that right? Its amazing the high gears Chrysler used on so many of their vehicles. In a truck, its a wonder its of any use. BUT! Quite a performance upgrade to be had by just a gear swap, for sure. A 3.55:1 would change the personality of that rig completely. Thanks. Great content!
I've got two ramchargers both have 9 1/4 rear and 3.21 gears they are ok one has sure grip in it both running 600cfm edelbrocks got one more rear it's 3.55 thinking of swapping those in but have to change front diff to match but I have those too. 318 roller cam I have in 87 ramcharger motivates it pretty good.
Wow, that truck was able to spin 31" tires with that tall of a gear that easily?? Are the tires all terrains? My 1990 tbi 318 will only sometimes chirp or spin my 31" all terrains. I'm impressed.
Headers are hedmans, had them about 15 years so i don't remember the part number. Here is the intake part number speedmaster79.com/shop?keywords=mopar%20intake they have a sale of 30-40% off around this time of year, especially black Friday

Is there a police intercepter 318 that’s what someone said about an old cop car purchased a while back. 1970’s or so.
Some police diplomats/apsens came with a 318 4bbl and 360 heads
Oh yeah sounds like she’ll get your other magnum truck now for sure. Do a dead stop drag no Rollie’s.
No doubt about it against my '01 Ram. But real soon my '01 Ram won't be part of the conversation... :D
Looks like she will move on down the road for what she is
That thing boogies pretty good. I'm sure quite a difference from the 2 barrel.
It helped it for sure..... Hopefully the 318's time is soon up, though, if we can get a spare moment to finish up the 5.9

The headers alone made 40ish hp
Looks like a small in the fuel line just before the filter. Check it out, am I wrong ?
you are correct. It's the factory 5/16 and of course the holley fuel inlet line is 3/8
Do you plan on changing the rear gears? Something like 3.23's or a little lower will help her move on out. Great vids and information.
For sure..... at least 3.55's, but probably 3.91's or 4.10 would fit the intended purpose of the truck in the end.
