      It hasn't made a great difference to be honest. If a bit more comfy but I need a bigger bike for big trips.

      Originally Iwas going to use a layer of thicker memory foam on top. I wish i had. Definitely not a difficult job.

      It's an easy job really. I'm pretty useless and it worked well. Cost me about $50 total.

    i got a pair of padded cycling shorts that i wear under my jeans, it helps quite a bit on my stock honda 919 seat, i'm going to add some memory foam in the seat this summer

    L28 👍, nice share, this DIY video will definitely help those that get a sore bottom from there normal seat, I have a couple of gel seats and they truly make a hell of a difference.     Hey Chewie and Mrs Chewie 😀 I haven’t added a gel seat to my bikes but I have removed the cover and cut the seat foam down then re-fit the cover back on my Kawasaki 250 so I can reach the ground 😂I have to say, yours looks way more professionally done than mine 😜

    hahaha...That cruiser ride wrecked you, man. But, for now, you have a little more cushion. My seat is 3 inches thick at max, but surprisingly comfortable. It must be the shape. Enjoy the new comfort !! :)

      It’s definitely the shape. The ZZR seat keeps pushing you forward so the nuts always end up squashed.

    Can I ask where you got the 2cm thick gel. I seem to only see 1cm stuff on eBay etc. And also the vinyl cover - did you just get from an upholsterer or is this some other stuff better suited to full sun etc. Cheers

      I bought both from Amazon. Can't remember now exactly what I searched for. From memory the vinyl was just ordinary vinyl.

      In all honesty, yes. I would add a thicker layer if I were to do it again. It’s not necessary though.

      I sold the bike 6 months ago. It helped a little. Gets very hot though. I'd add a comfy memory foam layer on top if I were to do it again.

      Amazon. If I were to do it again I think I’d go 10mm thick instead of 20mm.

      @@bobnaidoo1 For the cost, I’d do it again but I’d add a layer of softer and thicker memory foam on top of the gel. On my current bike it would be a much more difficult job so I’d probably get it done professionally. The ZZR seat is easy to do.

      @@hachewie might take you up on that, if only to see you at 6’4” trying to get on my 1949 350cc Panther or BMW R65, without knocking the bowl off the left side carb with your boot. Neither bike are meant for people over 5’10”.
