How to upgrade your motorcycle seat using gel pad

- This video will help show you thoroughly how to upgrade most any motorcycle seat. It is a gratifying project to do your self to customize your motorcycle seat and make some comfort for yourself. It should only take a couple hours depending on the type of seat.
I will make a list of some tools that could be helpful.
1. Sharpie marker Ballpoint pen
2. Flexible metal ruler
3. Utility knife and a couple new replacement blades.
4. A fairly small screwdriver that will fit underneath the staples.
5. A nice staple gun with 5/16 or 1/4 inch staples.
6. Masking or duct tape to hold your gel pad in place.

Yeah, that wouldn’t be far from the truth. I enjoyed doing models when I was a kid and remember catching whiff of that. Good luck with your gel pad. Nothing else it’s fun to do and makes you proud of your own custom seat.

honestly, buying a new 40.00 seat from amazon was softer for me, but it certainly helped , better than the original 2004 seat. I would buy the amazon seat, its softer than gel.
Try a new cover piece called 4 way stretch...should work.
Thank you that would be nice. I really need to just buy a new seat because that foam was pretty dry rotted that was in there. But I need a new cover for my Harley seat as well so maybe I’ll try it for both of them. Thanks for the tip.
wats ur review about the gelpad in your bike seats after ur rides?
I used an old seat that was already hard, i could feel the seams of where the jell pad was put in, to be fair it may need to be tried out in a new seat. I bought a 40 dollar new seat off Ebay and it is way softer than the jell pad with the old foam in it.. I would just by a new seat.

Does it really help the numb butt ... like for 3 to 5 hr rides? Right now I'm numb after 1 hr. with my OEM Shadow Spirit seat.
I would say no it’s just basically not as hard actually the cheap $40 seat I bought off Amazon or eBay. I don’t even remember was very soft and better than the stock or the gel pad.

I should do a little comparison video on the three or at least on the two but the new cheap $40 Amazon one I don’t know how long it will last it seems quality it looks good. I’m sure the last a couple years, but it is nice and soft, I mean nothing’s gonna make it super comfortable but it is way better than the stock seat and better than the gel that’s all I got thanks man

Oh ya, my original foam on the outside of the Gell pad is mostly dry rotted too. Just need a new seat soon.
