I thought about selling the T-8, but later changed my mind after realizing it is probably the most efficient piece of gear I have. Like you said, the sound is very soothing, and you can get immediate results. If you want something a bit fancier, you can always layer other sounds on top from a sampler.
yup, soothing sounds kinda took me off guard, so good for dub techno and relaxing beats without harshness.... also i can't see a point of selling smol cheap gear, it's better to have one than to need it
As a Drambo on iPad user, I don’t need any of this, but I did watch the entire video and was thoroughly entertained. I dig your sense of humor! I actually low key kinda want one of these now 😂
Same here... been there... and i was disappointed in ZenCore. I mean it's good for Phantoms and other monsters that carries a bunch of powerfull DSPs on board, but for weaker gear or vst it's just lame sometimes. But ACB is too good to be abandoned and it's good that Roland still uses it! I don't remember 1987 much... i was six then... was there any big Roland fan base back there?
@@djkanyon lol I was 17 and we were not Roland fanboys, we were just using whatever drum machines we could get. At the time, TR-808, 909, and esp 606 were cheap pawn shop scores. I couldn’t afford an EMU or DMX. We grew into loving Roland because we could obtain them. I always wanted a SP-1200 sampler or Oberhei DMX, but by the time I could afford one of those, I was accustomed to Roland gear.
@@djkanyon 808 and 909 were expensive on release but they were a flop and so cheap second hand until entire genres were built around them. The 707 was never cheap then. 606 was always a budget machine.
@djkanyon Naw, I just use 303 as a general term. I'd never buy an OG, too expensive. The Behringer is cheap but the firmware has tons of glitches. Mine did all sorts of wrong stuff. The Donner looks good but the T9 is just the best 303 imo. It comes with FX and a drum machine too.
@djkanyon I wish more brands would do like that Roland Touch 303 and have more choices of waveforms. I can get 303ish with my Electribe 2 but the envelope is not good enough and most waves are very similar to a square or saw anyway but, "more is more" as Yingwie Malmsteen would say.
@@koalemos1679 bro... Electribe 2.... my biggest disappointment... especially in synth department coz as you say... all the wavewforms are kinda similar and sine and triangle is just bad...
DJ Kanyon Video Edition))
I just picked one up this week and I'm a big fan of it. For creating simple, great sounding beats quickly, there's not much better. I sync mine via MIDI to the Roland J-6 chord synth and that combo is awesome. I give the T-8 a rating of 9.9 out of 10 so far. My only complaint (unless I missed how to do it) is that there's no way to save your drum sound settings with the pattern. So if you have a booming kick drum and snappy snare on one pattern, and then you switch to a more chill pattern that you made previously, that booming kick and snappy snare are played on the chill pattern (vs. whatever more mellow versions of those sounds you may have used when you created it). That's fine though, I can just manually set the sounds back to how they were whenever I switch patterns. The T-8 seems maybe to be more of a fun tool for live DAW-less jamming than for using to record finished tracks anyway. Either way, I can't wait to make more music with it! Great video! Thanks!
There's no sound setting to save, it's true, also if you add distortion to bassline there's no way to keep it on or off on different patches.... Thank you for watching bro, we are all in this together!
My favourite drum machine is so versatile and isn't that big, you can edit every sound with no problems. You're all asking but what is it? Ableton on a laptop.

I absolutely love my t8... sounds great (and I'm a bassist, so hard to please). Easy to use, but plenty to get into once you start tweaking.
The disclaimer for this video killed me xD
sad but true!
I think the comparison to the RD-6 sound and space wise is really good. New sub! :)
i wish i did more of that but hey it was too long anyway!

The Behringer is similar money but my Td3 was really glitchy so I sold it. Next time I can grab a 303, it'll be this one. Just good value.
