Love it! Just the info I was looking for as I have 2 different rooms with computers and sets of MIDI instruments that I wanted to be able to access from either DAW. I may have to watch parts of this a couple more times. Thanks man! Nice rig!
Great video. Nice to see a bigger studio setup with multiple mios and everything running with a DAW or without. Works great in multiple room studios as well. You did a great job explaining the routing side of things. I was hoping for a little DAWless jam with the pyramid. Maybe next video?
They are the Standtastic Tier Kits. Basically to add tiers to a Standtastic stand, but fits the unistrut perfectly. Here’s a link: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/100TK--standtastic-100tk-tier-kit-for-standtastic-stands-and-wall-mounts
This is a very helpful video. Thanks! Does each Mio port provide 16 unique MIDI channels to individual devices or are you limited to 16 total MIDI channels? Example: is it possible to have two devices set to MIDI channel 4 without conflicting as long as they are on different Mio ports?
Yes each port is 16 channels unique to that port. So you can use channel 4, for example. more than once as long as those ports don’t interact with each other. Thanks for watching!
Hi very helpful video -quick question before I buy a I-connectivity device . I only have Synthstrom deluge and access virus and old Roland jv1010 module both virus and jv1010 are 16 part multi timbral I want to use deluge to sequence Access virus and jv1010 would it be possible to use the ivonnectivity to give me for example 8 parts virus and 8 parts Roland jv1010 on my deluges 16 midi channels rather than the current choice I have of either all 16 virus or all 16 being Roland jv1010 - hope this makes sense
Yes that would be possible. One way to do it would be to filter out the channels you don’t want to use. So for example the Virus could use 1-8 and filter out 9-16. Then the JV could do the opposite. Then you could sequence on the Deluge accordingly.
Hi mate. With the MioXL can I have multiple sequencers controlling my synths? Currently have DAW, Hapax, SL, even an Atari ST. Depending on mood I want to use a different sequencer. Would the MioXL allow for this?
Yeah it can do that for sure. You could route them all to the synths at the same time which would be fine as long as they aren’t sending clock or something at the same time. The other option would be to have different presets on the MioXL for each sequencer.
@@thesolutionband Thanks mate that's helpful. I looked up the presets in the manual after you mentioned. Would make things much easier for me I wouldn't have thought of even using the presents tbh 👍🏻👍🏻
Hi again. Would I be able to have multiple sequencers at the same time? Say Ableton AND the Hapax? I dont see why not but I cannot work out how the two separate networks would sync? EG Ableton controls sampler 1 Hapax controls keyboard 1-5 Great, but how would the Hapax get clock from Ableton if there separate?
Yeah you could do that. You would just have to be careful not to cross up things that aren’t supposed to. You would need one master clock source. So you could connect an output from Ableton to Hapax and have Ableton be the master for example. This could be done easily if you connected the Hapax via usb to the computer or Mio.
@@thesolutionband hi and thanks again Yes I'd be using usb midi as often as possible to save the din connections for heat that needs it. I've decided on the smaller mio (5x5 I think) so need to max it all out port wise.
Everyone with multiple pieces of gear should check out ‘The Midronome’. I use it with my Multiple Mios routing all the clocks of my gear through the Midronome. This has been a game changer for me. The creator/ inventor is a really great guy also and is always making improvements.
I love that you can jam with the MIDI devices without your DAW. Super convenient, I bet!

Thanks for watching. I’ve had to watch my own videos to remember how I did things, so I feel your pain. 😀

Thanks! Yeah maybe a jam next time. This video took forever to edit the way it was. :-)
@@thesolutionband I can only imagine. It was almost 30 minutes cut up. Probably had 2 hours of actual video lol.
What did you use for arms to hold the synths to the unistrut on the wall?

I wonder how you manage your midi clock distribution through your giga-setup.
