I like the Donner. When it came out they kind of gave it a bad name by giving it to so many people for review, like IK Multimedia does. So after the buzz it was gone. But it's still a good unit. I've got the Behringer and Roland clones, and a few others that could be considered effective clones, AND I've got a DINSync RE303,, which is as close to having a real 303 as you can get, and I still like the Donner, do recommend.
It's a bargain for what it is (I paid £89 from Amazon). I bought it for the midi sequencer, it was worth the price for that alone. The fact that it is a fun analogue synth is an added bonus. It's also so much easier to program that all the other 303 clones. It will be interesting to see if Donner drop any more firmware upgrades.
I’m thinking of getting the TD3-MO as I’ve not had a 303 clone for a while now. For me, the original quirky sequencer is what helps to make it special.
@@leftmono1016 agreed, was thinking about it too but the price kinda too much in my area, not ready to pay 400 for another mono synth, but damn MO sounds good
About this "filling" at the end of the film. I have a crush on MODAL synths lately - SKULPT n CRAFT. Bought those for less than 200$ and I do not need any other synth ever again (except B1, its strictly for acid). Worth a look. Also a model: CYCLES, LIVEN LOFI-12 and PO33KO! will always have a place on my tiny desk.
One thing bothers me about B1... int tempo is not right (I had two units). I have to sync it to stay in tempo. Song mode is also not very intuitive (no transposition, can't navigate between "Song Mode" and "Track Mode" without stopping the sequence playback, just one song group, can't choose range of tracks to play) but good that it is at all. In any other way its a big step forward in 303 category. I must highlight punch in fx that are great for improvisation and unique in this segment. Hope that Donner will show some more love for this device.
Thanks man... not sure i'm doing reviews anymore but i will try do a couple more just to see if i can get more than 50 views or something, YT don't help small channels grow anymore

dinsync 303 is really cool!
Who didn’t get one?
I think my B1 is great... was really surprised at how nice it sounds with a little tweaking.
yup, probably the best sound control from the knobs on B-1... you turn it a little and immediattely feel the difference

oh absolutely agreed, let's hope for a new update or the next version!

urg, this is what makes me cringe about it: It's a good unit no matter the price.
@@alexwestconsulting actually yes! good point

i wish it was at retail, so hard to find! Liven is awesome too but again hard to find in stores!

I had the same problem, tempo kinda moves... but midi took care of it and it works fine when synced by midi with no problems with T-8 and Electribe2S
and still waiting on next move by Donner but it seems like it was one and done...
I dont run into any of these issues, but I use it with an external midi sequences (Novation SL MKIII)
I love this synth, use it on almost every track - also doing dawless jams
please share any of your music here, would love to hear it!
Great video! I'll definitely be subscribing
