This interview wasn’t long enough…. I could have listened to these two having a conversation for an hour. These 2 men are keeping the rest of us sane through all the crazy.
Britain made John Oliver…but America enabled him to freely become the genuine funny, but caring man he is. I have little doubt (writing as an Australian), that if he’d stayed in the UK, he would just be sad and bitter. Now he can be funny, genuine, AND sad and bitter😂
I love knowing that we have the "John Oliver Memorial Sewer Plant". Absolutely one of the best things ever to happen here. I laugh every time I drive by.
When John covered for Jon while he was making "Rosewater", that was a clear look at how outstanding he was. A great and underrated period of The Daily Show.
If anything of the American democracy is left after the next four years I hope that we will get at least a 90 minute musical about that dumpster fire. At least it would be something to look forward to.
The relationship between the current late night hosts, especially Steven, John, and Seth, is truly something special. I can't help but feel that in terms of comedy, we all have the privilege to be around for something rare and wonderful that is unlikely to happen again for a long time.
I work in sewage treatment, and understanding the importance of it, having plant named after you is actually one hell of an honor. (As an aside, our industry is hiring. If you're looking for a new career, check it out!)
