One ui 6.1 took my tab s8 to the next level. The tab s8 and s9 are the best tablets I've ever owned everything from open OS, pen in box, multi tasking pop up view , emulation, speakers etc truly amazing I use my tab s8 daily and I think it's more fun to use than the iPad
I've been getting pretty much the same experience it's been such an amazing tablet in every way
@DalevonDigital for me the reason why the tab s8 and s9 are more fun is the switch emulation I do qnd also the ecosystem with my samsung TV for projection wirelessly
Yeah I do enjoy the ecosystem of features. I never used it as an emulator. But I reckon it's useful
I went from the ipad 9th to the tab s7 fe, and that alone was a big difference in usage! It is still getting updates as well!

Love how much you covered and you showed how you used it rather than talking specs or just slamming the iPad. Too many people do that. I completely agree with the annoyances with DEX and how they haven’t really updated it in a while. The single click acts like a select and double click to open is annoying. I get it but they should give an option to just make a click act like it does with other desktop operating systems. Great video!

You know I'm never going to slam another device like that and I like to review how I use things instead of all that spec stuff cuz I'm really not into all that a real experience come from actually using it not numbers and I really hope they update Dex one day. That's one of those features. I really need to happen. At least give us the option like you say
My s9+ comes in tomorrow and I was originally planning to get the iPad air. I was all set on it when I saw that the galaxy series has multi-tasking. I have a galaxy phone and I love that feature. That was the instant change for me to switch over haha. You using the tablet for what I intend to use it for made me 10x more confident about my choice. Thanks for this amazing video!

Good decision. I've always used Samsung Phones, but on tablets first an iPad 6 and then an iPad Air 4.
Now I'm about to switch to the Samsung Tab S series as well and give the iPad my dad. I've stopped counting how often I wanted to throw the iPad against a wall because some decisions Apple makes are just super annoying.
- the file System on iOS is still horrible compared to Android. Even more so if you do creative stuff and often deal with files, sorting media on SD Cards and similar stuff
- I'm already on my third Apple Pencil. One broke because of my fault from a drop (still think the Wacom / Samsung Style Tips are more robust), the other two because the battery got very bad over time. The Wacom / Samsung Pencils have a battery for extra features, but also work without it so it's almost impossible that the S-Pen breaks.
- The S-Pen feels nicer to me because it feels less like writing on glass
- The multitasking is just so much better on Samsung. But I also like that Samsung has icons for some multitasking / window features. Apple tries to do so much by 1,2,3,4 Finger gestures that you get lost and almost need a handbook for all the gestures to remember.
- Apps can be a mix. There are Apps that are just for iOS, there are also Apps that just exist on Android. But one thing I noticed a lot that a ton of iOS Apps move to quite expensive subscriptions while good Android Apps often still offer one time purchases. But beside that I also prefer how much easier it is on Google Play to "try" Apps and you get a refund if you uninstall within a specific timeframe. On Apple it's quite a hassle to get a refund.

I'm happy with my Tab S9, just the perfect size. Until you said it I couldn't figure out why I preferred my Galaxy over iPad, but yes it's the S-Pen. It's so smooth on the screen with the rubberized tip, and feels good in-hand.

Yeah I have multiple tablets in different sizes. If I'm honest I couldn't just own the Tab S9U alone it's great but sometimes I want something smaller. So I'm glad I'm fortunate enough to have more tablets

Ive had the S9 ultra for a few months now. I also have a S9 FE, a Chromebook Duet 5 and now a Leia Lume Pad 2 3D tablet. I had an iPad M1 iPad Pro, but it didn't work well with my workflow, owning a Samsung Fold and Windows PC. It was the only device that didn't work well together with everything else. So, I'm definitely into tablets as well. I always have 2-3 if not more at all times.
My job is an all Windows PC environment, and Quick Share works on windows PC's too, and sending files from my phone, to the tablet or PC or vice versa is clutch, and my iPad Pro was sitting there like the only one not invited to the party, lol. So I used it to trade in for an M4 iPad Pro as a graduation gift for my daughter as she heads off to college.
You hit the nail on the head regarding the SPen vs the Apple Pencil. That hard tip of the Pencil tapping on the iPad screen as I took notes, would just get to me, whereas the Spen with the softer tip, felt more like writing on paper, if that makes sense, because it gives a little when writing or in your case drawing, and there is just enough of resistance, like when you're writing on paper. Plus that writing sound when you use it,,at least in Samsung notes, is a little 🔥 to me, lol.
Anyway, good video, it's the least biassed video I've seen from an iPad user that I've seen in a minute.
Another downside of the Apple Pencil is how fragile it is. The tip is so sensitive that it easily breaks electronic connections when it drop. Another thing is the battery that maybe lasts 1-2 years on daily use until it makes serious problems. The S-Pen on the other side has a very robust design (thanks to the Wacom technology) and works even without the battery. At least the basic features.

Thanks for the review. It was pretty much spot on. Dex needs to be shown more love by Samsung and see how to put the icing on the cake for a great feature. I have a galaxy tab S8+ and I'd like to know what apps you use for digital art. Do you think samsung should revamp the Penup application to match procreate on the ipad?
I used infinite Painter and HiPaint. And yes I think Samsung needs to revamp pen-up to make it compete with other drawing apps.
So glad I watched your review so view samsung tab artists. I love drawing on samsung tabs big or small since 2013. For smaller screen sizes the galaxy note phones back in the day were excellent. The experience is smoother than ios to me and the s pen is way better than apple pencil. The notes app is very realistic too. My one complaint is that I use artrage app and transferring files between my Android devices don't work in the native app file output so I have to change it to jpeg or png.if you have any suggestions would love to hear. Great video.
Thanks for watching and I never used Artage but I transfer files two ways one is thru quick share and the second is using google drive. It depends on the file type and size.

First off, dope drawings (are you using procreate?) and dope review (glad to find a recent review as well). I pulled the trigger about a month ago, and upgraded from the tab s7+ to the tab s9 ultra. Was a little apprehensive at first due to size diff, plus i loved my s7+, but after playing with the s9+, viewing media on it, plus the promise of future software upgrade support, I'm glad i pulled the trigger.

I would say wait and that's a smart move. But the Tab S10U is coming next year. And I plan to trade my S9U for the S10U. If you can get a good deal I'll say go for it. If not just wait.
@DalevonDigital my Tab S6 lite is laggy as all get out! It's to the point where it's almost unusable! But I don't use a tablet enough to even consider replacing it more than once every few years. So if I were to get the Yab S9 I would be keeping it until 2028 at least. So waiting for the S10 makes more sense. And even then I might pick up the S9 if the S10 isn't got enough improvements to make up for whatever the price difference is.
Oh that's fair. But in that case you should wait for the S10 series because of the 7 yr support. I wouldn't even bother with the Tab S9 series.

My biggest issue with the Galaxy tab as a laptop option is the kick stand. It takes up too much space for me.

Well if you can't wait till next year then don't. The Tab S10 series drops next year from what I heard. Their tablet update cycle is 1.5 years not every year.
Seems like you miss your tablet if you do definitely grab the S9+ in that case or wait it out.

Was looking at the iPad Pro 13 inch but Jesus, that price is ridiculous…and adding on the keyboard and the pen? No thanks. Just brought the 9 ultra, £200 off, free pen and also had the keyboard as a free gift…and also got 0% on the purchase. I love apple but they need to have a word with themselves lmao.

I'm watching this on s8 ultra. I have the samsung tab a 10.1 inch 2019 but I wanted a bigger screen. I love the s8 ultra. I didn't want to pay $1000 for s9 ultra , so I got the s8 ulra for $699 but got it for $599 because I had $100 gift card.
Good deal. I got my Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra for $540. I traded in my Galaxy Tab S7+. Samsung trade in deals are awesome man.

People say that android is too diverse thats why apps like procreate or photoshop or onenote are not getting optimized for them, but thats just a freakin excuse, like if android is too diverse then just do the flagship versions, like make the apps for samsung s series, they got good big screens, good quality screens, processor is good enough, as ipad has m4 but still the processor is so restricted that it might as well act the same as a 8 gen 2 or 8 gen 3. So why? Just excuses, no real answers
