Good video. Plain, simple, to the point. It's hard to find videos that aren't chatty, or give bad info. As a mechanic myself, I like to find videos like this to share with people who dont understand.
your egr valve is probably stuck open. Some have a plunger that u should be able to move up and down. Others have a pin in the valve that moves in and out and on that one you have to clean the hole around the pin so it dosent stay recessed in as far but rather convexes a bit. Only reason how i know is mine was stuck closed and my truck was running so lean it would stall and not want to start back up.
When you say it should blow freely do you mean really freely? Or should there be a little resistance? Also I am able to blow through one way but not the other. Safe to say its shot and needs to be replaced?
On my 98 Maxima, I notice tiny black beads in both hoses. Is this normal, and would this be the cause of my engine to be hesitate when accelerating? I've replace all plugs and coils thinking this was the problem.
Black beads are from carbon build up. I’m not sure if it can cause acceleration problems, but it’s likely those beads are in other parts of your evap system, including your canister. Those beads are from topping off your fuel tank when at the pump, so when it stops, don’t try to top it off.
I have a 97 ax4 I nearly replaced all parts evap related I managed to erase codes only one left is p1445 from my understanding that line on top of the cut valve that's suppose to suction so it opened up and let's the vapor threw it says volume control is the problem but am I correct if so how do I fix this problem
Ok, I have a question of course. We had to drop the gas tank on my 1998 Pontaic Grand Prix. When we dropped it, of course you have the fuel pump itself. But, there is something else that is installed & sits down inside the tank as well. What is it?
I have 1997 nissan hardbody pickup 4cyl.. Code p0443.. Would this affect how the engine performs? I have a rough idle and loss of power during acceleration.. Also I have code 1130.. These are two codes that come up when I scanned it.. Thanks
if my mechanic took this part of and he say that black gruddy stuff was coming out.is that normal? he say that he cleaned it out by getting all that out
My 1990 Pontiac Firebird runs like a top until it gets below half a tank. This is when it starts coughing and sputtering and eventually dying. At first I thought that gas gauge was just off, but it is accurate. After the car dies my tank only takes 9 gallons, even though it is a 16 gal tank, which means there is still gas there, its just not getting to the engine. The fuel pump turns on and works great above half a tank and pulls hard. There is also a LOT of pressure released from the tank when I take the gas cap off. Makes me think its not venting properly, any ideas guys? charcoal canister itself? EVAP solenoid? help! its the only thing left I have to fix. :)
@@justeneschlenker4485 Hey! sorry for the incredibly late reply. But it ended up being my charcoal canister. It got worse and worse as time went on. It even died in traffic 5 times in one mile in the highway. I pulled the canister off, shoved screws in the ends of the lines and the car started right up. no more pressure in the gas tank, been running great
Try doing a google image search. You can often dig up diagrams pretty quickly. If you have trouble send me a message via facebook and I'll see what I can dig up.
I'm afraid I don't. That's a trouble code for a small leak in the evap system. Professional mechanics would use a smoke machine to find the leak. Scotty Kilmer has a video finding leaks using a cigar. Just do a search on his channel. Good luck
great video, question: I tested the Canister blowing in. Then there came out thousand of small stones. (it was totally blocked with these small black stones) anyone has an idea where do they come from?
I think that could be charcoal from the canister. Nissan published a bulletin with the procedure to fix that issue and clean all the hoses to remove the charcoal.
ADEL AHMED Check out our website www.carsntoys.net and click on EVAP. I have a host of repair videos. But in short, the EVAP system is all about emissions.

Would I do everything above if I am having a problem with the purge control valve circuit?
Love the dramatic music here... too bad I still can not find the source of my rich condition, great video!

Can you show a P1447 code check?
So what exactly is the difference in function for the evap purge control valve and the evap purge volume control valve ?
When you say it should blow freely do you mean really freely? Or should there be a little resistance? Also I am able to blow through one way but not the other. Safe to say its shot and needs to be replaced?
Well done, very good explanation and very clear!!
Thank you. Hope it helped.
Thanks for teaching us personally I really appreciate it god bless you always
Glad to help.
I am getting a p0443 code on my 1996 F150 5.8l can you tell me what and where to check, any diagrams and or part numbers would be most helpful too...
You ever get this figured out? I have p0443 pending with my 96 Bronco 5.8L and it's stopping me from passing emissions

Shouldn't. If a valve is stuck open you may end up with trouble code p1493

Jonny Moseley 1130 is the swirl valve. Fix both issues and you'll be in good shape.

+Pamela Edwards HI Pam. Sometimes charcoal from the EVAP canister can find its way to the valve. Cheers
So is that a sign that it need to be replace and will that be the reason why my car keep cutting off at a red light
@@pamelaedwards5703you need to replace the canister asap
