I watched for the dr and cogent suspension upgrades but I also have to say, I like your bike hauler too.

Doing my DR650 build over this winter, just ordered the DDC's, mojave pro coming next. Thanks for the video's they were inspiring in regards to the DR's transformation.
nice! you will be very pleased with the results. your dr will go from being a pogo stick that tries to bounce you off the trail, to an offroad weapon, capable of the gnarliest of terrain and at great speeds. i don't work for cogent, but i fully recommend their stuff for anyone with a dr650. there are times when i am riding my cr250r, where i miss my dr650 just by how smooth it is to ride out there. i may need to start bringing both bikes out at the same time! haha.
you should make some vids during your dr's upgrades.
Planning on doing the video thing, what type of cameras are everyone using? Its freezing ass up here right now, can't wait for warm weather. I'll be able to post some great videos of the local South Park CO. secret stuff. I owned a CR 250 when I was younger and raced that beast, those things rip.

Installed the cogent in my DR650 today. Now all I need is skills!
When I bought my DR in 2014 I was a super noob. I couldn't even roost the back tire and I never imagined I'd ever be riding the terrain I'm riding in this video. But, EVERY time i went riding I forced myself to ride a trail or a hill climb that scared me, that I didn't think I could make it up. You'd be surprised how fast you will get good by doing that. Don't be afraid to dump the bike on a technical trail. Scratches bring experience and confidence. Push yourself out of your comfort zone on every ride and you will be amazed at your skill increase. I promise you. Cheers brutha!
Nice. Nicento know this bike can be made to perform. I have a plated xr650r, love it, does what this dies in Carnegie, Dez, Baja,mountains in, outta state. Fun on street too! Maybe a dr650 in my future as back up for long trips, camp mule! ( or would the xr650r be back up?🤔🤣)
Oh I bet the xr can be as good if not better than the Dr, set up right. Hondas are top notch quality. I'm a honda fanboy. Lol

it is. i recommend to take up dirt riding to everyone that rides a street bike. it will only improve your riding skills overall. if you've got a dirtbike or dualsport, come out and ride. i'm local too. carnegie is heaven on earth

65elcamino283 something I have been wanting to do for awhile now... was like 9 when I had access to a dirt bike.
a couple few months back there was a group of 4 or 5 guys i was riding with for the day out at carnegie on their r1200gs's all geared up with the side boxes and crash bars and everything. pretty much each one dumped their bike at some point. took us all to get them upright, but no damage to the bikes. one guy let me ride his bike and i let him ride my cr250 up to the back of the park up one of the main fire roads. what a bike. big, heavy, power on tap that will spin the earth a bit faster in the opposite direction. lol. but that was definitely a bike i would ride across the continent on, especially if it was the Australian continent! lol. i think he trusted me enough since i ride carnegie black diamond trails on my dr650 (only 360 lbs) enough to have let me ride his battle tank. if i had the $$,$$$ i'd get one
check out craigslist for a green sticker two stroke 250, like a 2000, 2001, or 2002 cr250r, yz250, or rm250. just barely over 200 pounds, and about 50hp. it's crack on wheels!! green sticker so you can ride it all year round. two strokes are easy to rebuild and cheap to rebuild. on cl they only are a couple grand. a bike like that can and will take you about anywhere you want out there on the gnarliest of trails. be careful though. it's addicting!!!! hope to ride with you sometime

One of the few videos where someone shows off their suspension upgrade and dosen't ride like a bitch. I'm buying a dr650 tomorrow and if I feel like the suspension is holding me back I'll change it. Some of the guys that complain about it dont go over 15 mph and blame it one the suspension and not their skills. I rip around my 1976 Xl250 like I stole it and while the suspension sucks, it's not what holds me back at the moment. It's the shitty tires my dad put on it before he gave it to me.

Warning-this vid contains excited expletives uncontrollably spewed by yours truly due to how awesome the bike was handling. it was an actual very first ride and first moments on the bike and i was just overly happy with how much of a improvement it was.
