Well, you did pay an extra 1k for a good suspension! Further, you got to pick exactly what you wanted. The only thing I can think about what goes on in the mind of Suzuki is they know people are going to mod the heck out of them for personal preference. So they sell us a relatively cheap piece of canvas that has "good bones." When you have a production line going a few dollars on a different part can mean a lot of money in overhead. I'm just happy that they are still making them. The flaws of the Suzuki factory are well documented. I would rather have the devil I know than the one I don't!

Yeah that stock shock is garbage I have another DR with the stock suspension and it's such crap but if you are going around commuting or cruising it's not bad. Maybe that's who Suzuki is trying to cater to.

@@hadesomegamoto7639 I agree the stock DR 650 mono-shock is pure and utter garbage! So, did you buy the rebuilt Cogent, and the Mojave at the same time? You must have returned one, right?

@@douglasbuck2359 Nah I ran the rebuilt one for a while and before I rode the TAT I wanted something good for a 10k mile trip so I bought the Mojave Pro and sold the rebuilt shock. The Mojave Pro is so much better but it can only make the DR handle so well unfortunately. Long sand whoops section is still tough on the DR.

    8lbs 14oz to 9lbs 4oz is only a 6oz difference. That's less than 1/2 a pound

16:40 if you want to run a set screw into threads put a lead ball in the hole first, it will deform saving the threads.

Nice comparison.... How did you like it? How much did it cost? Did the price include the spring? Did you do anything with the forks?

I think I mentioned it in my unboxing video but it was around $1200. I love it, it blows the stock shock away. The forks have progressive suspension springs and intiminators and I like that combo also. The price includes the spring also. It's a custom shock so they build it to your specification.
There's more details about my Mojave Pro in this video:

Not really but I got tired of the crappy rear suspension on the DR =P I figure I can get about half my money back selling my old shock.
