I listened to a long distance hiker who was a doctor, he talked about how your muscles adapt quicker than your tendons and ligaments. So when you feel like it’s time to do 20s, you still need to wait until everything catches up.

Hey guys, looking good! That umbrella is genius. Especially for keeping rain off the camera. A bit worried about Nick walking off track in the scrub! Watch out for aggressive Mojave rattlers Nick... maybe not in the NZ consciousness... For deodorant, try bicarb soda mixed with water. Make a paste - one coated finger each side works like you won't believe.

Glad you mentioned the weird dreams I didn't ask anyone else but I had soooo many weird dreams, I mean usually dreams are weird but on the trail it's even crazier.

Acclimating to the trail ...is tough for alot of people...no instant access to treated cold/hot water. No bathrooms, No electricity, no tv, no easy access to internet...yep it can be challenging...but you will adapt....perhaps eventually after a month...you will feel different about all the conveniences in normal living. lol

If you do "bulletproof" coffee I actually prefer it with instant coffee. It seems weird but it's great when I'm backpacking.
Off to a great start! Hopefully it will continue that way. A cold on the Trail is no fun. Hikers try to stay down wind 🌬 of everyone!
Been watching for a while now. And I go to school in San Diego. It’s so weird to think that awesome Mari and Nick are just to my right hiking the PCT while i’m here studying and working on my schoolwork. I just finished the 5-Peak challenge in Mission Trails, Santee. I just got a certificate, and want to get more hiking certificates. Ya’ll inspire me to get more hikes in and maybe even the PCT! There are NO 'colds'. U R toxic like 99.9% of the hypnotized herd is. ALL DISEASE IS TOXICITY. BTW, I haven't been sick in 33 years bc of my VEGAN mostly RAW foods diet.

The cheese is actually fine for a couple of days 😊 yep, we look ahead to see how much food we’ll need.

Mari, when you resupply at a grocery store look for a glass jar of Medaglia D'Oro Espresso instant coffee. They have a small one. Put it in a ziplock for the trail. I also hate instant coffee but can tolerate this one. Great videos, love the glasses.

It's nice to follow another PCT thru-hike, last year Darwin on the Trail, and 2017 Dixie, Homemade Wanderlust, her 24hour challenge was 62 miles, maybe you can beat her. Also love my CNOC, best water bag ever.
