Super fun video. I definitely see Oscar and Andrea holding on to their titles for a while, as Jeff and production seem quite committed to new player only seasons for the foreseeable future.
Natalie falls in your category though and still made the list 🤷♀️ I can’t even think of a single player who made it to the end because all of the separate alliances saw them as a goat, who would also be considered messy.
@@ashen_rosesThat's an entirely different show. Not even in the conversation. Same reason Sadaharu Oh isn't the name we think of when it comes to the career home run record.
I'm not trying to hate, but I really don't think votes received and messy gameplay are correlated at all. Half this list is good players who were targets. Thats not messy. As someone else said, messy players usually don't get a lot of votes because they're either voted off quickly or taken to the end.
You know, i think people misunderstand players like joe. When you're good at the outplay portion, everyone becomes scared of an immunity run. They aren't allowed to play the social or strategic portion of the game because they have become the universal target from everyone.
Thank you for making this video! I love survivor TH-cam but never knew Ciera voted out her mom! I can’t believe no one has ever talked about it before!

@@OnceUponAnIsland to be fair, I do not pay attention to things closely I saw Phillip and Wentworth and that was good enough for me I genuinely looked at no one else 😂
I wouldn’t necessarily consider Joe a bad player, he was just too much of a physical threat. People knew if he went on an immunity run and made it to the finals that he would win the game. And obviously that’s going to make people want to vote you out. But to me, that’s having a high threat level not being a bad player.
I always thought Ciera voting her mom out made perfect sense and wasn't that cutthroat, since she told her! There was no way she or Laura would have made it far as a duo, so the only way to break free of it was to vote with the group, so she could have a chance to win (and even share with her mom if she wanted). Then Jeff went on and on about it, because that's exactly the dramatic scenario they wanted when they came up with the blood vs water concept: for a contestant to vote for a loved one. As a mom, I'm sure Laura was fine with it too, because she wanted her daughter to have a chance.
Jonathan Penner had a bad rap the moment he stepped foot on Cook Island. That guy never caught a break. He continues to be one of my all-time favorite players. But that's in large part due to his post survivor struggles and his relationship with Yul Kwon (another personal favorite). He really is a great player and a fun person to watch.
I miss the gradual rise of amount of votes Survivor contestants would collect in seasons. With the new era I doubt anyone would get close to this top 10.
My boi, Boston Rob, is the goat at landing himself TV gigs. You have to admit, the mess he brings to the game is super fun. He's a gambling man, too, so Deal or No Deal Island is 🔥with Mariano there, poker face locked.
Messy to me would be flippers and stumblers. The likes of Chase from Nicaragua, Julie from Redemption Island and even Tony Vlachos I would describe as messy players. Their moves are less calculated compared to others and can be completely unpredictable (making for better TV mind you) Players getting the most votes are just players who have a higher threat level to either win, or be brought along to the end.
I thought she got 9 voted season 25, 1 in final 10, 3 negated in final 8, 1 one final 6, and four in final 5. And 14 in season 31, 4 in the first tribal, 2 in the first swap vote, 3 in final 9, 1 in final 8 and 4 in final 7 1+3+1+4+4+2+3+1+4=23
this would’ve been incredible. i liked everyone in the final 4 in different ways and i’m a parv girl at heart but jerri manthey HvV winner would’ve slayed!!!!
Considering the actual voting, I wouldn't have been surprised if she would have won had Russell stuck with his initial plan and voted Parvati out of the final three instead of Jerri, and I would have been much happier with a Jerri win than a Sandra win. I definitely feel Jerri she would have won in a final 3 against Russell and Parvati. It feels a bit weird to me that Russell would want to put Jerri on the jury just because he thought he'd get her vote (and he wasn't even right about that), as one needs a lot more than jury one vote to win.
Getting lots of votes doesn't mean you're bad, it means you're controversial or a threat. Those can be good things if you manage to make your way deep into the game.
Joe’s biggest problem was that he started off being such an immunity threat, and then he lacked the ability to be like Tony, another immunity threat, but who insulated himself around other people and downplayed his abilities.
I really want someone to make a video that's the players who've caught the most cummulative stray votes. Like how many times have they gotten a vote but weren't the target of a major alliance
I would disagree with the term messiest. Some of these people, like BR are getting lots of votes because they've played a lot or because they are genuine threats. Actually messy players often don't get votes because they get dragged to the final 2/3.
tho strategically not the worst - her gameplay must be seen as messy… francesca, though i like her, attended 2 tribals, in 2 seasons, and got 10 out of a potential 17 votes… And was the only double first boot… she has a 100% vote out rate! even if she wasn’t a bad player, something she’s doing is messy to claim those stats
I think the worst players all get carried until the final 4 or later because they’ll be easy to beat.. in fact, they may not get any votes until late in the game.
Bhanu (he loves the game but is the worst at playing it. Can't lie, has no strategy, explodes at TC and now he has spilled the beans about his tribe to others for no reason). Number 1 in my book (I realize you used other criteria, though)

Not a messy player in the sense used here but Rich, and the guy that was eventually throw out for touching up a production assistant after being all handsy with more than one of the women on his team.
Based upon the variables regarding the amount each player played, ranking how “messy” a player was is not accurately reflected in True Dork Times’ and your methodology. To account for the “frequency of play” variable, I created the “Messy Index”. Messy Index = [(Vote Outs - Wins) / Seasons Played] X (Votes / Tribals) I used your method of counting all votes even if the vote was negated by an Idol. If we calculate the Messy Index for the highlighted players, this is how they would rank. Understand that other players who weren’t included in your video might have a higher Messy Index. Player Messy Index Your Rank
Most misleading title award / worst measure of what makes the "worst" player. If you are constantly receiving votes (aka seen as a big threat) but surviving episode after episode by outplaying someone else and making sure they have more votes than you... in no world does that make you the "worst" survivor player.
Michele is great! But wouldn't Earl be the best since he only played once, won, and got 1 vote against? I can't think of anyone else who won and has only 1 vote or less against them in their career?
@OnceUponAnIsland depends how much the number of days played plays a factor, and how much votes received negatively impact the score. Guess we will need Winners at War 2 with Earl and Michele to settle this!

I hope when it comes a time when Cirie finally wins survivor, IF EVER, people are also going to be like “it took her five times to finally win” or “despite it being on her fifth try”… I love Cirie but the fact are the facts and if people are always constantly throwing it in Boston Rob’s face they should also throw it in her face. You couldn’t even make it through this video not pointing it out.. other than that, good video
Yeah, I’m aware that you have made videos on Cirie. I’m saying that when (if) she finally wins Survivor on her fifth, sixth… try, would there be a constant throwing in her face that it took her all those times to win. Again, I love Cirie but I hope you would do so considering how you and many others likes to always point out the caveat of “it did take him four times to win though” type of rhetoric for Rob.
I’m mentioning Cirie particularly because (1) she is a universally beloved contestant; (2) she has expressed interest in playing again and (3) of the people who want to play again who also has the best shot at returning, it would’ve officially taken her more times to win the game than Rob. Again, Cirie is one of my all time favorite players, but fair is fair. If always upon mentioning Rob that his win deserves an asterisk because it was his fourth time playing, the same energy should be applied to someone like Cirie who (1) has never won and (2) even in victory, would’ve taken longer than Rob to accomplish such feats.

noted haha. @@OnceUponAnIsland
Boston Rob for me. If it takes you four times to win your a bad player in my eyes.
i kinda feel like every subsequent game actually makes it harder to win bc everyone is so wise to your game but idk
you look at it the wrong way , in season 8 he almost won (4-3 lost to his future wife) but everyone admit that amber was there in the first place thanks to rob great game
I did make a video about Cirie on every show she has been on, check it out 😊
Yeah, I’m aware that you have made videos on Cirie.
If anyone takes 4 times to win it will be mentioned. Not sure why Cirie specifically is being thrown under the bus here.
Again, if anyone takes 4 times to win it will be mentioned.
