I watched this video and let me tell you my couch looks brand new. Took all the covers off the pillows and seat cushions. Turned everything inside out , closed the zippers, washed them all in my washer with just a small amount of detergent on the delicate cycle, cold water, and actually dried them on the delicate cycle. Not a problem. Thanks for the informative video. No shrinkage, no fading. Love it!!!
stop hating! this video and step-by-step explanation just saved my family's (2 dogs and 1 husband) favorite piece of furniture! Thank you for posting this video! I added a small amount of detergent (lavender smell) and my couch is like new. The small things that can make a wife happy.... THANK YOU!!!! :)
Not everyone is a born director. This person shared his experience in HIS way. Momma says if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything. That poor man was just trying to share something nice.
I appreciate the time you took to explain every little detail of how to wash microfiber couch covers in the washer. I have searched all over for just a simple video of how to wash covers, and to be honest, none of the other videos I've seen actually explain it from start to finish, and with such great detail. I'm about to try it out for myself, and your awesome video has given me everything I need to know before proceeding!! Thanks so much!! I will follow up with the outcome. :)
Thank you so much for this video! I tried the alcohol trick shown in many videos and despite my best continued efforts, it didn't work for my tan microfiber sofa. I followed your directions exactly and my couch looks amazing! My significant other asked if we got a new couch. Tons of appreciation for posting this video!
Followed your directions with a bit of detergent in the washer because I was dealing with baby pee and puke. Worked great! Great descriptions and details in the video
Thank you SO much for posting this how to video...it saved our couch! Our couch was very nasty and the directions on the couch say to never remove the covers off the cushions. Well it was either we tried to save it or it was going on the curb. I have kids and pets and they just about ruined it lol. Used this method and it worked PERFECTLY! Smells like new....THANKS so much :)
Sooo excited to try this! I've seen all the other methods and all I can think of is, ain't nobody got time to scrub your whole damn couch! Lol. So I'm very thankful for this vid and all the satisfied comments too!
Excellent video, my man. I have a wife and if I washed the cushions and they shrank, she'd kill me. This gives me piece of mind. I for one didn't mind the length of the video. I'm a slow learner so the length helped me out.
I just bought an old CB2 couch and it appears to be microsuede so I was nervous about using the washer. Followed this video and a few comments mentioning just a bit of detergent & added Vinegar for the smell. I also dried on low for about 20 minutes before hanging it to dry. No shrinkage and it cut the drying time down.
Thank you so much for showing this! My daughter spilled about a 1/4 gallon of milk on my sofa yesterday. I tried this last night and this morning I woke up to a clean dry spot free sofa!
WOW, I also was thinking of buying a new couch and happened to come across your video...I put my covers in the washer with a little detergent on gentle inside out and air dried them outside as we live in AZ....and I have to say it looks amazing...they weren't really spotted just needed freshening up but, you had to see the wash water...UGH...THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH.....also I just brushed the arms as I saw in another video and they came out good too!!!!!
One thing to note, if u have an L shape couch- one of the square cushions may be slightly larger than the other. Remember that when u put the covers back on! I learned the hard way ha, one was real loose and the other real tight (that's what she said)
Thank you! I spilled an entire cup of coffee onto one of my microfiber sofa cushions, and I followed your advice and voila!!! My sofa looks like N E W. By the way, I had to let mine drip dry overnight. Amazing results - thanks for posting!!
My nephew had a pee accident on the couch. I used these instructions but added laundry detergent and 1/4 cup vinegar to normal cold wash cycle. Results were PERFECT.
Works great if you hit the rough spots with a remover first.... I hung dried covers then put them into the dryer for get the micro fiber right... Thanks
I have two dogs and 4 college students and that in itself makes my beautiful beige microfiber couch look horrible. I usually use a hand held spot cleaner but thought this video answered a lot of questions. I am going to wash them so I can do it more often and keep the smell from all the 'pets' down. Thank you!
Ran across ur video. I didnt want to spend money on a new couch. I actually have the exact same color couch. Thanks so much for this video. Saved me money!!!
great video I'm going to wash mines right now but I'm going to use some detergent and I'm going to put it in the dryer on low setting and cold so they won't shrink wish me luck ☺
Thank you for this video! Our dog just had a rather large accident on our couch and I am definitely going to try your method before I use any chemicals.
I have kind of same couches and I always wash all of covers and even all cushions in my washer in delicate cycle with cold water and even spin it then put in low dryer heat and it’s always perfect . But yes I have large size washer .
I was thinking about buying a new couch, cause it got spots on it.So by me watching your video change my mind going to wash it in the machine.Thank you
i cant wait to try your method but i have a very lite color fiber and hard water whats your input love to here from you on this even if i take to the londermat like your input on the lite color if i need to do something else
I had a local carpet cleaner come to clean my sofa, he told me it wouldn't come clean it was wear not dirt. I found it hard to believe. The back cushions were shiny and looked like they were dirty. I always wanted to try washing them but was scared to. Well, I watched the video and did it! It is true, the came out beautifully and shiny spots are gone! Like new!
What about using a color boster do you think that will damage the color I don't have stains but they are just dirty I wanna wash all with my pillowcases too I want soap for a good scent I have gray and navy blue
thanks for this i have a couch i had for a few years and not alot has gotten on it but its getting older and dirty from daily use so i needed some way to clean it this is a good way to clean it thank you :)
Good video but he didn't want to admit that he still had a stain left, a dark stain on that right hand corner because he rubbed across that corner back n forth that right hand corner that micro fiber didn't change. It stayed dark in that area. GsacMusic was here.
Any suggestions on cleaning the pillow back microfiber that's detachable, and instead of one single pillow, it's stuffing? I'd rather not have to deal with taking all the stuffing out of each pillow, keep them separated, then having to restuff each one... but if that's my only option, I guess that's what I'll have to do.
A lot of times it’s hard but cleans them completely I’d put them in the bathtub and clean with laundry soap and it’s crazy how much dirt will come out you wouldn’t expect it even when your couch looks clean and I just keep squeezing the water out till all the soap and dirt is out and it runs clear and get out as much water as you can and let them air dry
My microfiber couch has a sticker affixed to the base underneath the cushions with a cleaning code on it.....W means you can clean it with water or water with mild soap; not sure all upholstered furniture has this, though. ( S means solvent only, like alcohol....not water). Thanks for the video!
fromcraft2cure Hello, yes the resolve did work great on the front of the couch. I would test a small portion first to make sure there is no coloring change. But I love resolve best cleaner out there.
did this for the first time on mine was scared that the slipcover would shrink but i put it in the dry on low and booom perfect looks new and it will defiantly let you elongate the life of your couch
I'm assuming that first you should check your tag or sticker to see what the cleaning code is first before you try this. If your cleaning code is S, I'm thinking you can't do this at you are not supposed to use water - only special solvents. Cleaning code W should be ok though.
So my dog threw up on my microfiber couch cushion and it smells bad. Any ideas on how to clean and get the smell out. Wash only, wash with detergent, no detergent???
ziggy42scoop I'm a year late, but we also have a red couch and I wanted to see how yours turned out?? this couch is actually my father in laws and I'm afraid I'll ruin it! particularly being red..
Thank you for this video. You saved us a lot of money. It looks almost new again. I used some soap on delicate, I just can’t believe how well it turned out.
I'm going to leave mine inside IN, going to use WARM water, and going to use some Tide detergent. And i'm pretty sure mine are going to be super clean and not shrunk and not faded or any of these other needless concerns. If i'm wrong, well, lesson learned. And unlike these other Bozos commenting, i actually WILL return to share results.
Ok, i did it. And i put them in the dryer on low heat and pulled them out while still damp. I then put the covers back on the cushions. Lookin' good. The truth is i still see a few stubborn small stains (unlike the people who tell you they look brand new) but overall very happy. There's only one problem... the back cushions seem to have ripples in them that look like varicose veins or giant worms. I'm hoping they disappear when fully dry. Not sure what would have caused that????? Ideas?
Thank you for coming back and posting the outcome! I have a microfiber with leather bottom and a chase with detachable pillow back cushions, I really want to wash it instead of spot cleaning. I also wanted to use a tide pod. I feel comfortable doing what I originally wanted, so thank you! Now on to look for comments on how to clean my detachable pillow back cushions! Unfortunately they are stuffing filled, so not as easy to figure out like the seat cushions.
welp..I watched this entire video...when finished I was very ready to clean my couch cushions...after I struggled to unzip and roll down just as he did I discovered my cushion covers are sewn in at the very bottom...there is no way to take this cover off...I was very disappointed...but wait there is more..now I cant get the cover unrolled it is all stuck together with the junk inside it..also a piece of foam that is the corner piece fell out and well I'm screwed...Hoping my daughter can fix this next time she comes over...
"You have to wash it on Cold water. Not Hot, not Medium, but Cold. Do you understand what Cold water is? Let me spend a couple minutes explaining what cold water is. Remember, cold water, not hot." This video should have been 2 minutes long.
Kaitlyn Davis nice, well never have until today! I got a used couch so just washed them and now it looks good as new. Caught the end of the NBA game after in comfort lol
man! Totally agreed. haha. Thanks for the tip though :) The premise of the tip can be found at timestamp 10:45 (if anyone just wants to skip to the end)

Any ideas on how to wash the actual cushion part?
I’ve used baking soda with water mixed and a scrubber. That worked great for the back cushions of the couch.
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for!
How did you wash the cushion part?
Works great if you hit the rough spots with a remover first.... I hung dried covers then put them into the dryer for get the micro fiber right... Thanks
Is that a Darcy couch by Ashley?
I have the same type of couch where I can unzip the covers but what do you do if your child Peed on it how do you clean the foam so it doesn’t stink?
I have two dogs and 4 college students and that in itself makes my beautiful beige microfiber couch look horrible. I usually use a hand held spot cleaner but thought this video answered a lot of questions. I am going to wash them so I can do it more often and keep the smell from all the 'pets' down. Thank you!
I was wondering if you can put those foam in a washing machine at laundromat because mine 30x40
Ran across ur video. I didnt want to spend money on a new couch. I actually have the exact same color couch. Thanks so much for this video. Saved me money!!!
Great idea to use hangar to dry. I'm cleaning mine for the first time today and this video made me less scared - thanks!!
Glad the video could help thanks for watching.
great video I'm going to wash mines right now but I'm going to use some detergent and I'm going to put it in the dryer on low setting and cold so they won't shrink wish me luck ☺
Did it shrink? On low setting?
Thank you for this video! Our dog just had a rather large accident on our couch and I am definitely going to try your method before I use any chemicals.
Great, I'm glad the video could help, let me know how it worked for you. Thanks for watching.
the best part about this video was the reminder 'DONT FORGET TO VACUUM ALL THE CANDY OUT OF THE BOTTOM'....
I washed mine cold water delicate cycle. Put back on cushions while damp however the material is wrinkling? any suggestions? thanks
I have kind of same couches and I always wash all of covers and even all cushions in my washer in delicate cycle with cold water and even spin it then put in low dryer heat and it’s always perfect . But yes I have large size washer .
hi, thanks for the video, do you think it works for microsuede cushion covers?
Hand washing it inside out with some vinegar and TINY bit of soap will work wonders.
Air dry it
I was thinking about buying a new couch, cause it got spots on it.So by me watching your video change my mind going to wash it in the machine.Thank you
i cant wait to try your method but i have a very lite color fiber and hard water whats your input love to here from you on this even if i take to the londermat like your input on the lite color if i need to do something else
Can I put softener to give e it a good smell? Would it mess it up?

Thx just tried it last night your method is great...couch got that fresh look again!
Absolutely amazing results. Thank you so much for the video. Cold water!!!!
Thank you! This was exactly the solution we needed.
Style points for ur hanger trick there! I'm gonna try it now. Is microfiber the same as suede sorta? Ur couch looks like mine just different color
They are easy to clean delicate and cold with a little bit of detergent basically common sense
How do you clean the top?
Thanks alot buddy I shall air dry outside as it's windy here in Saskatchewan. Thanks for hanger tip. Smart!
Good video but he didn't want to admit that he still had a stain left, a dark stain on that right hand corner because he rubbed across that corner back n forth that right hand corner that micro fiber didn't change. It stayed dark in that area. GsacMusic was here.

Great tips! We were stuck on how to clean this!
+Christopher Zeger great glad the video could help, thank you for watching:)
Dab, dab, dab, dab, dab!!! lol
My microfiber couch has a sticker affixed to the base underneath the cushions with a cleaning code on it.....W means you can clean it with water or water with mild soap; not sure all upholstered furniture has this, though. ( S means solvent only, like alcohol....not water). Thanks for the video!
how did the resolve do on the coffee thst spilled on the front? forgot to show the results on that.
fromcraft2cure Hello, yes the resolve did work great on the front of the couch. I would test a small portion first to make sure there is no coloring change. But I love resolve best cleaner out there.
So u just used water? no detergent , no woolite?
did this for the first time on mine was scared that the slipcover would shrink but i put it in the dry on low and booom perfect looks new and it will defiantly let you elongate the life of your couch
awesome:)
I have the same couch, but different material, my couch is made of wool instead of micro fiber, can I use the same method you showed on this video?
Wool shrinks when wet. Good luck.
Very helpful but holy crap could have been 3 minutes long max...
The best video ❤️💯
Thanks for this video 💙
Solid video.
Thank you! Worked like a charm!
Thank you for the video. I am going to try this.
Why did you Not use soap? Anyway, great job!

What if the cushion inside got wet?
So my dog threw up on my microfiber couch cushion and it smells bad. Any ideas on how to clean and get the smell out. Wash only, wash with detergent, no detergent???
You must use detergent to get the smell out.
Thanks
That was really helpful

ziggy42scoop
I'm a year late, but we also have a red couch and I wanted to see how yours turned out?? this couch is actually my father in laws and I'm afraid I'll ruin it! particularly being red..
I also have a red couch and need to do this. What was your outcome
I used alcohol and a plastic bristle brush. I rubbed til i could no longer see the stain
Little talky but does help! Thanks!
What about if a cat pissed on my couch should I use soap??
I have to try this !!
Thank you. Im going to give it a try. And yes long but Im sure if it wasn't there would be a ton of stupid questions. He made it idiot proff..lml!
Thank you for this video. You saved us a lot of money. It looks almost new again. I used some soap on delicate, I just can’t believe how well it turned out.
Thank you so much for this video!
Ill gonna give it a try...thanks
I know he says air dry, but is it safe to put in the dryer?
Actually you can. However, I suggest putting it in the dryer for only about 10 minutes on a lower setting then still hanging it dry.
You saved my life!
Nice job!
Thank goodness! I’ve been nervous to ruin them.
Great video!
Glad I found your video. I'm so happy with the out come ! My couch looks great. THANKS ! 😀
Will it take the dog smell out if you don't use soap?
No. You'll still have the smell.
It works
The big questions is how to clean the cushions from the great smell trapped in them?
Awesome :) thanks for sharing ...
I'm going to leave mine inside IN, going to use WARM water, and going to use some Tide detergent. Micofiber is polyester. It is washable. Do not overdry it.
"You have to wash it on Cold water. Not Hot, not Medium, but Cold. Do you understand what Cold water is? Let me spend a couple minutes explaining what cold water is. Remember, cold water, not hot." This video should have been 2 minutes long.
Wow it is nice way 🤔

Just put my couch covers in the washer on warm with detergent.....should've watched this first....hoping for the best...
So how did it go? Lol. I'm thinking I'll use cold water and just a bit of detergent
Turned out fine and they smelled amazing, definitely time to do it again! How often do you wash yours?
I spray the couch with resolve every week and wipe it down (we have a dog and cat)
Kaitlyn Davis nice, well never have until today! I got a used couch so just washed them and now it looks good as new. Caught the end of the NBA game after in comfort lol
Cool! I'm glad I used detergent, my living room smelled like good ol' gain for days!!
My boss just gave me an Ethan allen couch and this is what I will be doing
i don't get the term "chocolate brown" ... there's nothing chocolate about it. it's brown.
12 minute video??? Good info but get to the point!!!!!
Yes!
man! Totally agreed. haha. Thanks for the tip though :) The premise of the tip can be found at timestamp 10:45 (if anyone just wants to skip to the end)
oooooooh myyyyy goddddddddd....why do these TH-cam video people always go on and on and on with senseless details. Get to the f'n bottom line! GEESH
USEFUL info, but EVERYTHING was repeated at least 3 times. This video could have been 60 seconds long
yeah too much detail.
