Hollywood is all smoking mirrors, Ike was aware of the exaggerated stories, production used him as an off-set consultant! Ike isn’t extended any grace for what he went thru with his ex wife and her bashing his name until her death didn’t help I always thought that was overkill but what can you say🤷🏾♂️ they both had bad childhoods and as adults both were far from victims, she was no angel. One can question if she tried to sleep her way to the top! Having a baby by Ike’s band member then having his the next! Tina egg a lot out of that movie to make herself look like a victim and gain more empathy from the public, made her whole comeback and resurrection off of sympathy and rock music! She did not let the music speak for itself which is sad when you realize it’s good music, she didn’t have to be extra with bringing up Ike for almost 50 full yrs after their divorce😂 but fanatics will say different

I had a friend who regularly beat her boyfriend with everything from the TV remote control to the puppy. She was so violent. After a year of putting up with it, he finally pushed her back - he didn'thit or slap her, mind you. Anyway, she called the cops and he went to jail. I couldn't be her friend anymore.
I had another friend who asked me to write an affidavit stating that I had witnessed her husband beating her. This man never touched her, but she wanted a leg up during their messy divorce.
Quiet as it's kept, many women manipulate the system to harm men, and they don't care about the damage they leave in their wake. So sad...

There are several ppl in abusive relationships who, after suffering abuse, feel that if they're trapped, they will at least fight to stay alive. They get used to the violence and thr lifestyle.
It doesnt mean that the person is an aggressor or abuser. Imagine the emotions that victim will go through and the resentment they hold after being sad and frustrated for so long.
Many people who are abused are abused verbally, psychologically emotionally, financially, verbally sexually, they are coerced manipulated, conditioned, groomed. This was not a tit for tat school yard fight. Several ppl including Ike witnessed and documented it.
Abusers also know how to fight and still keep up appearances to the world while isolating their partner and making them look crazy if they talk.
This isnt new news so victim blaming/shaming or asking why she would retaliate is nonsensical and redundant.
If that logic made sense there would be no self defence laws under any circumstances.
Ike is one of the greatest musician , producer, session, killer guitarist ranked # 3 once what is absolutely sky high rank among thousands guitarist, killer pianist with killer left hand bass style that Jerry Lee Lewis copied , great voice , great innovator and Ike created the name “ Tina Turner “ and her persona on the stage , without Ike Anna Mae Bullock would’ve still be at the Saint Louis Hospital! Ike wasn’t no angel but Ike ain’t no devil either ! Ike made Tina one into one of the biggest RockStar ever and I believe I little bit of R-E-S-P-E-C-T and appreciation from Tina would’ve been great!

Well I wasn't there , so i do not really know either story. I do know they were both incredible. In my opinion artistically Tinas' "Roger Davies era" was like going from Mozzart to the wiggles. Ike was a true pioneer of rock'n'roll ...Rocket 88...way before any "review" . An absolute icon and a multi instrumentalist...facts.
Man I ain’t realize that whole Tina Turner biopic movie was a bunch of BS till around 2010 on TH-cam I seen this interview of Ike Turner on the Howard Stern radio show and Ike was debunking all the lies in that movie and he came across as a really nice guy to me….and what’s crazy that Ike Turner interview with Howard Stern is nowhere to be found on TH-cam now or on the internet period even if u google it….and plus I’ve seen interviews of Ike Turner daughter talking about how much of a good person Ike Turner was…I beg of anyone please don’t let that movie be your view of IKE Turner …

Ike was no angel, but I NEVER bought in to Tina's narrative. Never! No question she was a gifted and innovative vocalist/performer, but I never cared for the likes of her, nor Diana Ross...in spite their respective talent. One thing I could never stand about Tina, in particular, was her seemingly (almost purposeful) snub of not performing with other black musicians , once fully 'embraced' by white audiences (PLEASE don't reference her background singers, nor her long time pianist, the late Kenny Moore..) On that same note, Ike was a cutting-edge industry genius (for lack of a more appropriate term.). I doubt the average music lover realizes just how crucial Ike was to the development of Rock n Roll and early R&B/Soul.

There are winesses to his abuse..... Rhonda Graham the tour manager, Robbie Montgomery the Ikette, Etta James, PP Arnold, and her children. In fact a large part of her son Craig's depression and emotional problems stemmed from witnessing his mother's abuse. He actually witnessed the hot coffee being thrown in her face , among other things.

Tina was doing drugs and was just as violent as Ike. Tina left because she wanted to be famous and she and Ike were never famous. Their albums didn't sell so they had to tour constantly to make up for the lost revenue. When Tina filed for divorce there was no mention of spousal abuse.
When Tina broke out in the 80s with her top 40 schlock, nobody knew who she was because Ike and Tina never hit the big time.

Ike Turner made the song Rocket 88 in 1951 and that song is considered the 1st Rock and Roll record. Elvis is no King of Rock and Roll. He copied his whole style from Jackie Wilson, Little Richard and Chuck Berry. You have all this crap to say about Ike Turner but nothing about Elvis being 25 years old and messing with Priscilla at 14. That's not a rumor but a fact.
