I'll be honest, i remember enjoying Wrath of Cortex quite a bit. But i haven't played it sense i was a kid, so who's to say how i would feel about it now.
The lack of platforming in favor of many, MANY game modes is kinda a trend in 2000s platforming, where they focus doing as many things as possible to spice things up when that would make the experience even less consistent and more stretched out. Ironic, considering Super Mario Sunshine gained infamy. But when you compared that game with others, Super Mario Sunshine is WAY more consistent and arguably more fun. Buggy, definitely, but keeps the same Mario formula we enjoyed.
There were so many great games that came out the same year it could be that many people at the time compared it to them considering how much of an evolution games had during that time. Wrath of Cortex is just more Crash which I love but maybe people at the time wanted more? I love this game now currently.
A few questions if I can! 1. Are you playing wrath of Cortex on pcsx2? 2. If so are you using the nightly build? For some reason my copy doesn't work with the nightly build. I get God awful triple ghosting on everything. It's very nauseating. Was wondering if you maybe did any adjustments in the settings or if you're using the super old stable version like I had to for woc.
@@Teh69thSpartan wrath of cortex is such a mediocre game imo and a game where I had next to no fun with. With crash of the Titans, It's the complete opposite. I did have fun and was actually enjoying myself for once despite how different it was. In reality, crash of the Titans is my 5th most personal favorite crash bandicoot game
This game gets a lot of unnecessary deep criticism and critiques compared to other Crash titles in my opinion. The game is decent. I don’t believe it’s that bad of a game. It’s overly analyzed and critiqued, imo (ahem, like Crash Bash is). It is also underrated, in my opinion. Does it have its issues and moments? Yes. But that DOESN’T make it a BAD game. This game did a lot of things right too, that I feel often are overlooked. That’s just the way I feel.
I love wrath of Cortex so much.

The music is pretty good
I feel like I'm the only one who completed this game 106% as a kid
I do wonder how many people as a kid just rushed through their games instead of 100%ing them fully. I definitely was a rush to the end kind of kid.
@@OrenOfClubs definitely me I was that kid who wanted to beat his game in one day some guys yes I did that
I like fully completing the game when I play it as it feels “incomplete” and “unfinished” to do otherwise, in my opinion.
Love this game personally
Loved the Crash series and I grew up on the ps1 games, it took a while to get over the ugly models vs that of the ps1 models.
Game kicked ass, I think it just didn't do anything different than the previous ones did.
Agreed completely, it was more of the same which I love, but at the time people wanted more since the new generation just came out.
More loading time that Gaming time
I never knew until recently that this was considered a bad game 😢 I always loved it as a kid and have fond memories of beating it several times.

Just because some people consider this a bad game, doesn’t mean it actually is!! 😂 I certainly would disagree with that.
i loved this game so much i dont mind being wrong about it being good

I actually just emulated the Gamecube version. While it is apparently one of the worse versions, the Dolphin emulator is just too damn good.
PS2 Greatest Hits >>>>>> Xbox >>> PS2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gamecube
I'll get it right one day
@@OrenOfClubs You should check out the greatest hits version just to see it compared to the Gamecube version.
Buggin. This is the best game in the series
Crash and spyro died in the leaap to rhe ps2
Cool video, good job 👍
Thanks friend!
Opinions don't matter
Good watch
Thank you!!!
This game makes Crash of the Titans look like a top 3 game in comparison.....in the context of Crash Bandicoot
What makes you say so?

I agree. This absolutely is a great game that gets a lot of flack while people ignore the positives.
