Bent arrow, Thanks. My dad taught me when I was growing up. His thing was, make every move count, get in and get it done. He carried his tools like I do. Only his rasps went in the tall cowboy boots that he wore. Sharp rasp in the right boot, dull one in the left.
Hello. On the left front you commented that the horse was walking more on the inside of the hoof. Did you say you took more hoof off of the outside? Thank you
Jarrett, Yes, the outside is longer. They usually wear more where there is more pressure. So to balance them out you take more off the outside to level the foot. Sometimes you can’t get it perfect, but do the best you can. Thanks for the question and for watching.
William, Leather welding sleeves. While I’m shoeing I rest a lot on my elbows, a trick my dad used. I started wearing these to keep from wearing my shirts out from that and horses pulling away ripping holes and mopping you with mucky feet. Thanks for watching
Allan, I know it’s something my dad did. If they’re moving, I do that, I noticed it’s only on the left side of the shoe when doing the first couple nails, or on one that flinches with every hit. It’s a habit I guess. Kinda different huh. Thanks the question and for watching.
“Have you seen my new shoes?” - the Horses. Thanks for the vid. God Bless ❤

@@RockinJFarrier Great idea!
Wondering why you start your nails with the side of the hammer? Not a criticism just a question.
