The owner of these horses wanted to do some video and then he edited it for me while I shod the other 2 horses. A spur of the moment thing. RJF

I had to shoe the Horses for the Yellowstone Ranch on the south slope of the Uintah Mountains. They have 30 head. Two of them are old and they are not shoeing them this time. So I had 28 head to shoe. I do them in 2 days.

We’ve been working on this foundered horse for about a year now. He had his coffin bone abcessed through the sole on all 4 feet. Now he only has a little bruising and still some seedy toe and some rotation. With the shoes squared back under the coffin bone he does great. They are riding him moving cows and going into the mountains.

Rest in peace to the horse poor baby 😭😭😘😇😇
Where can I purchase sulphur? Is there a particular type I need to get and is there another name?
Amazon, Flowers of Sulfur Sublime.
Thoroughly enjoyed your presentation, Sir. Keep em coming, plz. Thanks for sharing...
Thanks, will do!
Thank you for sharing another trick of yours that you have learned over the years. 👍
My pleasure
Those mountains in the background 😱 You never see that in NZ ( not as big or cool as those ones )
Rocky Mountains. Got to Love em. Thanks
My back hurts for you. You do what many of us can't.
I wear my back brace and keep it in shape. Resting on my elbows as much as I can. There's a back to it. Thanks.
😮use to shoe till back got bad. U got er down to a science. Great job. Love watchin a good farrier.
Thanks, That's why I wear the back brace. My dad shod till 75.He always wore a brace. I guess I have 11 years to go at least. 🤠God Bless🙏🏻
Glad to see you’re well! Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Thanks, I was, at one time, looking at these alternative type shoes. They seem expensive and not real flexible on how well they go on. One of these newer type of shoes won't even work on mules.
Some like them, but they definitely are not shaped for mules.
I like your set up. You obviously know by feel where everything is too so that works well. Good work.
Thanks.
I any novice like me who's done it, this is astonishing.
Well thanks. Done over 1100 this year. You perfect what you do a lot of.
@@RockinJFarrier look like the shoe was a good fit and needed little adjustment. I lose a lot of time pounding on the shoes😂. Because of you, one of my friends bought a bender like yours and she says it is very easy to fit shoes now.
@@ruthhamilton4882Wow that’s great. Glad it is catching on. Makes things faster and easier.
Look forward to your videos, Sir. Thanks for sharing...
Does the clinchers have teeth/grooves on the other side or are they normal clinchers ?
Just normal clinchers. You could put grooves on but I haven't found it necessary.
I’m sorry for your loss

Guess won't have to trim his feet, LOL!!!
🤷
RIP poor paint horse
I'm so sorry but all you care about is not having to trim his feet😢😢😢
I guess I could have trimmed them for old time sake!!!
Omg I’m so sorry❤
why would anyone put this on TH-cam
You didn't have to watch. Something over 300,000 people have watched.

The fact that the man said “Guess I won't have to trim his feet now, will I?” really speaks to his strength, I would at the very least be shaking and crying some, god rest your horse’s soul

How are you so calm about this 😢
He was 30 years old, and the owners were thinking of putting him down because he didn't do well the last winter. God took care of the situation.
Oh o feel so bad for him
Thanks for your video, really helpful! I like your modifications, excellent idea.
Thanks, glad it was helpful. Do you have a bender?
I cant imagine how bad that hurt
Why are you so calm about it I'd be balling 😢😢😢
The horse was 30 and had a hard winter. They were thinking of putting him down before the next winter. I just trimmed him a few times a year.
@@RockinJFarrier oh ok so u still wouldn't cry about your ded horse?
@@EleanorCorgiif it was mine and circumstances were different
That is so said 😢
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭💔💔💔
Poor horse. I hope he didn't suffer too bad. Sorry for your loss.
Thanks for the vid, I came to the most recent video, can you do a walk throu video on how you built your horseshoeing stocks I want to build a portable set like yours, thanks
Sure thing!
Thanks!!

Bro we couldn't let the horse aside literally he just let it out when just die that's like that's the most heartbreaking thing ever
😢
Interesting. I was watching bot fly larvae removal videos last night. Quite a pesky critter. Good stuff. Keep em coming, Sir...
Cool, thanks
Well you removed a useless screw but added 8 nails to the foot..lol..but seriously, i think you should pour a small bit of betadine or iodine in eash of those holes after you had cleaned them out with your tool, and before you nail a shoe on it that covered the damage areas..
The owner did that after we got done. It makes it's way to the hole even with the shoe on. The mule was sound 2 days later.
@@RockinJFarrier well, some might find it's way into the cracks and holes.. that is if the holes don't get plugged with debris or mud, etc.. You should do it right away, when its clear and open.. before covering it or it getting more debris into it..
Music raises the spirit.. I generally don't play in my projects, but have in a few that needed that extra texture..besides, breaking, riding and shoeing my horses (and now a difficult mule) I like doing vocal cover projects and making videos for my channel too.. Here is one I did a couple years ago I'm sure you'll will know the song.. Amie: th-cam.com/video/WldGYts1qEU/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for sharing!
I was hoping to watch that problem mule trimming.. I have one that doesnt like her feet messed with, and has already tried biting and side kick with that back foot while lifting a front
Kassulke Trail
Rip to that horse 🐎 😢
So the stock is transportatable? I've only seen ones that stay put.
Yes, the beams swing around to the front along the trailer, and you can head down the road.
@@RockinJFarrier wow
This is sad

Poor baby 😢
This happened to my foal not even a year ago… it hurts to lose a horse you love
It is easy to see you love animals.
Thank you
Im very sorry for your loss but its true you wont have to trim his nails anymore i guess 😭
So sorry. I know it hurts...
