Did ~1500km in SL, upper still in excellent state, outsole rubber worn through around toes, midsole foam visibly deformed but overall extremely happy with price and quality. I didn't expect it to last that long and I think I will be able to do at least another 100-200km in it. If SL2 is as wide and as comfortable as SL it will be first option for sure.
Ordered a pair. I loved my NB 1080 v11’s. Best every day shoes I’ve ever had. Got the v12 and the soles were hard and non-responsive so I was hesitant to get the v13’s. I used to run in Adidas Ultra Boosts so I am returning to Adidas and hopefully I can some more enjoyable (and quicker) runs in. Great video Ben! Keep up the good work my mate. 👍🏻
@@Maloha486 I love them. Really good response from the cushioned soles. I usually order the wider size in NB so I have had slight rubbing on the side of my foot with the SL2’s but nothing too bad. I’ve really enjoyed running in them. I would definitely buy another pair.

Years ago I left Adidas cause they shoes went narrower every new model by Adios. The leg was like in a vise. I have flat foot, needs more space. I have 12 UK size too. Euro 46-47 depends manufacture.
I was loving the ride on Adidas Sl2. Put over 50KM on them in just a few days. But the heel lift was so bad for me it blistered both my ankles and took a chunk out of my skin. Never had such bad heel rub with any other shoe. The shoe flexes quite a lot compared to the Boston 12 and constantly pushed my heel up even with very tight lacing. They should have shaved weight and used the upper from the Boston 12 which I love.
@@ganchinho Definitely can, its a more snug upper and softer underfoot. But can still pick up the pace. I tested them out with some faster efforts around 3:30-4 Min Per KM. They work well up to 16-18KM with some pick ups and strides. Did a double in them with 23KM total last week and both runs were peppy. Perfect timing for this video as I am in the market for a new training shoe! Was curious if youd recommend to visit a store and get your gait tested before buying a new running shoe?
If you're at all unsure then it's well worth going to a store and getting things tested. Then they can recommend a good shoe for you. Try to find a run speciality store, rather than a general sports store. Good luck!
Neo Vista please Ben! I know you're a big Inside Running man and all three of those boys rave about that shoe. They never usually all agree on something so it must be good! Amazing price too if it really is up there with the Superblast!
@jonhopkins6061 I really like them mate. I use them for my longer, slower efforts as they are super comfortable. My only gripe and it's a small one is how hot the upper makes my feet due to the knit material, however the flip side is that it's a really good fit and come the cooler months it might not be such an issue. I have had no stability issues either, so overall I'd definitely recommend picking it up if you want a really soft, bouncy long run shoe 👌🏻
I was about to ask but the answer came later in the video. A shame they are classic Adidas narrow A recommendation for at test would be the New Balance Venom. An absolute gem. I know you don't run that much trail but you really should give it at try
Interesting - the Venom looks a great shoe 😊 and I hope there are still a few floating around at a good price when I am next in the market for a road to trail type shoe.
I purchased the Adizero SL last year. It was indeed a great value as I got it in the USA for $43+tax/shipping. Unfortunately, I won’t get this shoe again because it was as too narrow for my foot, even at a half size bigger. I use it in humid/hot weather and it is just not that comfortable to train in for more than a few hours.
The SL2 looks tempting at those prices and reminds me a little of a better but possibly more unstable version of the New Balance Rebel v2. I loved that shoe so I am tempted at the price of the SL2 but not sure it is going to be the best option for me to add to my rotation atm as feel like I need something which will be better on longer runs and be more durable. Would like to see you try the following; Topo Specter 2 (out in August and a must buy for me), Brooks Hyperion Max 2 and asics Magic Speed 4 I think that I may opt for the first two options on that list.
Good daily but not a long run shoe. I have done 120 miles in mine so far. I did 18 miles in them the other week and for the first time ever, my feet got very sore. Feet were hot at around 12 miles and sore at about 14 miles+. first time I have got a blister. I think they are great for upto 10miles
I have bought a pair of Puma Velocity Nitro 3 in wide version, and I'm very happy with them. They fit my wide feet like a glove. I sincerely hope that Adidas will do the same with SL2, but I'm not holding my breath. Puma launched the wide version since the beginning...
Is this a better daily trainer than de Supernova Rise? I was first thining of adding the Supernova Rise to my shoe collection for easy miles... Now I'm in doubt. At the moment I only run in the Boston 12.
Weird. The Supernova Rise in Brazil costs 100 USD with a discount now, versus 145 for the SL2. It's a considerable difference. Anyway, got my pair yesterday, hope it's as good as everybody is saying. Thanks, Ben!
Mine just arrive picked them up for £99 can’t wait to take them out. Lots of hype about this budget friendly daily. I had to go a full size up to get the fit right, found them short and narrow in my normal 9.5
I'm 105kg 6.4ft, the sl2 is comfortable and responsive, like Ben said it is a touch narrow, I was able to relieve some pressure by loosing all the laces and adjusting. After the 3rd run the fit is fine. (Us13)
Would you recommend them for easy runs between 4:30 and 5:20(recovery runs) or only for training runs. Also how would you compare it to the noverblast 3s?
Where do you strike the ground when running? Also which one would you recommend for racing 10 km , the Adizero SL2 or the Asics Noosa Tri 15? Thank you. I am a front foot runner.
Hey Ben, where do you see the SL2 against the NB Propel V4? Since the propel v4 is most of the time in sale right now (~80€), this could be another great pick!
Hi Ben, I'm following your 14 week advanced marathon training plan for the Berlin marathon. Would you recommend to schedule a half marathon as part of the training? If so, when would be the optimum date as prep for Berlin? Thanks
Thanks Ben for the video. This is enlightening. I am your new subscriber.Unfortunately got a wide feet. What is the best shoes for us? Is the Puma VL 3 or the Reebok Floatride 5. Happy running 👍
Mine arrived faulty as the stuck in insole was off centre pushing my big toe on my right foot into the roof of the toe box. Also agree it’s not got good stability for runners like me who prefer a wider platform. For me it’s probably going to be a no.
iam stuck on stability duty, i have the saucony tempus wich really works for me but it seems a bit hard on my feet on the long runs, i would love to know ich "softer" shoe i could choose that gives me that level of stability that the saucony one has 🌼
Controversial opinion, but I really love the outgoing model. Yes, the foam is very hard out of the box, but it does soften up. I have had a few pairs which I have put over +800KM, with their being barely any wear on the sole. Can't wait to test the new model 👀
Not an expert, if you're obese maybe you shouldn't start with running because of the high impact on your joints, knees in particular. You can lose a lot of weight with intermittent fasting and walking first
Shoes seem cheaper in the UK than in France. A lot of "cheaper side" recommendations (Nike Pegasus, puma nitro, etc.) are not cheaper than others here. I am sticking with Asics at the moment even if I'm curious and would like to try some other brands.
Got a pair last week, they are ideal for my 6-14 miles daily runner, luckily I have narrow feet anyway so I’m a massive fan of these, i just hope adidas don’t play around with this version in the future too much 😳
Great price and as a plus Adidas even slashes it down further if your a member. Was very impressed with the quality as it's even better compared to some of it's competition. Cushy, bouncy but with a very nice response.
Great video Ben. What 2 shoe combination do you think would be best out of the Nike Vomero 17, Adidas adizero SL and the Puma Velocity 3. Ideally one thats better for longer runs and one that could work ok for faster runs and abit of intervals. Thanks
lovely review, thanks. I've been using Saucony Guides for years and they're good but it might be nice to change it up - would the SL2s give me enough stability?
@@BenParkes Noted, thanks for the reply Ben, really appreciate it! I've been running in the asics tri noosa 15 for the last 4 months, really enjoyed them but I've been craving something different. I have bought a pair of Puma Velocity Nitro 3 in wide version, and I'm very happy with them. They fit my wide feet like a glove. I sincerely hope that Adidas will do the same with SL2, but I'm not holding my breath. Puma launched the wide version since the beginning...
@@danielsevell5732 how do you know that? In my country, Italy, the only running shoes Adidas offer as wide is Supernova Rise.
I got Puma deviate elite 2 for CAD$120=70 pounds yesterday from puma outlet store. That's a bargain.
Could you make a video about explaining the adidas shoes running line please ?
I understand that the insole in the SL2 is glued in. Do you think it’s removable so you can use orthotics?
It is glued in.. apologies I didn't mention that. I don't think you could remove it.
Is this a better daily trainer than de Supernova Rise? I was first thining of adding the Supernova Rise to my shoe collection for easy miles... Now I'm in doubt. At the moment I only run in the Boston 12.
Supernova Rise is more comfy, SL2 is more performance oriented.
@@CATinBOOTS81
Supernova Rise is more firmer than SL2
I'm gonna run Berlin in these. Wish me luck 🏃🏽♂
Planning to review puma nitro elite 3?
Which would you say is better for daily runs- these or the Nike Vomero 17's?
Weird. The Supernova Rise in Brazil costs 100 USD with a discount now, versus 145 for the SL2. It's a considerable difference. Anyway, got my pair yesterday, hope it's as good as everybody is saying. Thanks, Ben!
Is it like the the streakfly. I am using those now but can I use these in the future
Mine just arrive picked them up for £99 can’t wait to take them out. Lots of hype about this budget friendly daily.
I had to go a full size up to get the fit right, found them short and narrow in my normal 9.5
Would you say this is viable for a heavier runner?
I'm 105kg 6.4ft, the sl2 is comfortable and responsive, like Ben said it is a touch narrow, I was able to relieve some pressure by loosing all the laces and adjusting. After the 3rd run the fit is fine. (Us13)
Would you recommend them for easy runs between 4:30 and 5:20(recovery runs) or only for training runs. Also how would you compare it to the noverblast 3s?
Would absolutely love to see more brands. For example adidas has been completely left out before this video
Where do you strike the ground when running? Also which one would you recommend for racing 10 km , the Adizero SL2 or the Asics Noosa Tri 15? Thank you. I am a front foot runner.
What do you prefer between Adidas adizero SL2 and Nike vomero 17?
What is the best every day trainer for someone 6’1 230lbs coming from a bodybuilding background?
Hey Ben, where do you see the SL2 against the NB Propel V4? Since the propel v4 is most of the time in sale right now (~80€), this could be another great pick!
I’m a big fan of the NB propel V4, I’m 1.91 x 95 kg and still run 10k in absolute comfort in rebel. Can this shoe match the fit of the Rebel?
ordered a pair after watching this and holy smokes.
Would you pick this over asics pulse 15 as a beginner shoe?
Should I get this over velocity nitro 3?
iam stuck on stability duty, i have the saucony tempus wich really works for me but it seems a bit hard on my feet on the long runs, i would love to know ich "softer" shoe i could choose that gives me that level of stability that the saucony one has 🌼
860 v14?
@@femaciel need to take a look at it, thank you!
How's the stability? Is it like ASICS Paris unstable or more stable than those shoes? Also how to the supernova rise?
how does it compare to the boston 12?
Controversial opinion, but I really love the outgoing model. Yes, the foam is very hard out of the box, but it does soften up. I have had a few pairs which I have put over +800KM, with their being barely any wear on the sole. Can't wait to test the new model 👀
The foam on this one is soft right away
Adidas SL 2 or puma velocity nitro 3, im obese trying to lose weight, your opinion matters to me sir, You deserve millions of subscribers
Not an expert, if you're obese maybe you shouldn't start with running because of the high impact on your joints, knees in particular. You can lose a lot of weight with intermittent fasting and walking first
@@marcusaurelius6847 yes, i will walk first sir, and the transition to light jogging.
@@marcusaurelius6847 that's what I am planning, walking first then slowly transition to jogging.
Shoes seem cheaper in the UK than in France. A lot of "cheaper side" recommendations (Nike Pegasus, puma nitro, etc.) are not cheaper than others here. I am sticking with Asics at the moment even if I'm curious and would like to try some other brands.
If you had to choose just one, Novablast 4 or this SL2?
Can you do a review of all the saucony shoes just like the NB one? Thanks
Got a pair last week, they are ideal for my 6-14 miles daily runner, luckily I have narrow feet anyway so I’m a massive fan of these, i just hope adidas don’t play around with this version in the future too much 😳
How does the size run? Is it true to size?
@@elkanahdhanookdharry for me yes, it’s a very individual thing though,
Great price and as a plus Adidas even slashes it down further if your a member.
Thanks
Boston 12 vs sl2 ???? Which is better
lovely review, thanks. I've been using Saucony Guides for years and they're good but it might be nice to change it up - would the SL2s give me enough stability?
Is this consider a setup from the Nike Pegasus series or is it in the same category ?
How would this shoe compare to the Nike Vomero 17??
The original SL themselves are very good for what their cost.
is the shoe comparable to the vomero 17?
actually there is a Wide option, in the adidas app
Thanks for the video 😊
Would you recommend the sl2 over the boston 12 as a do it all shoe?
If you have narrow or fairly normal width feet, plus not bothered about the assistance with the rods, then it’s a great option!
@@BenParkes Noted, thanks for the reply Ben, really appreciate it!
I've been running in the asics tri noosa 15 for the last 4 months, really enjoyed them but I've been craving something different. Did some homework and the Boston 12 came out on top before they announced the SL2. We are yet to receive the SL2 in South Africa.
@@tianoyt7005I was actually in RSA on vacation when I bought the Boston 12. Great shoe! I did my first semi-marathon in them, perfect...
Hi, should i buy this or the Adios 8? I ocasionally sprint and play basketball. I do not care about speed but i try my hardest when sprinting. I don't play basketball competitively and fairly casual.
Im not a runner. My ? Is how comfortable are they? I have peripheral neuropathy and most shoes kill my feet, i need an everyday sneaker for comfort.
Would love to see you review the trail version of the Novablasts!
Better than the normal 4 not only the traction also bouncier, probably because of the rubber cleats
You recommend this shoe for wide feet? My last shoe is hoka clifton 9 in size EUR 43 1/3 Wide.
What do you guys think about adizero adios 8?
My pair delivered this morning. Just walked the dog around the block in them. These do feel like perfect general trainers. Still likely need long run and speedwork shoes. My current Pegasus (Pegasus 38s I milk to death) do not compare.
Can SL2 be used for long distance running maybe just 10km/week?
I find my Boston 12’s midsole a bit hard😅 Do u think this SL2 have a harder one?
If your kinda wide feet, is there a need to up size half?
