Our media is a joke in this country. It's clear Ben has had a significant issue with one of Englands coaching staff which is why he flew home from his last call up. We have no idea about the details of that and Ben has said he wants to keep that private. End of! Stop slamming the guy when we only have 1 side to this story.

Southgate nor ben white has said what the reason is.
Why has not one pundit put forward the argument that Maguire will always getting picked ahead of him regardless of Maguire's form??! Appalling to let Southgate off the hook so easily.
Same reason why Rashford always gets picked and Henderson both are in poor form and get picked

Even when Özil was having issues with Arteta, neither one threw the other under the bus. Southgate is the issue here.
The funny thing is. Since the World cup, we've had several international breaks, and Southgate didn't invite Ben White. Now all of a sudden, he wants to invite him. So what happened all this while? Southgate has not resolved the issues that emerged at the world cup, so now that he's defensively short, he's hung Ben White out there to dry to absolve himself from any blame in case England fail again.

As a manager, you always take the heat. Arteta always protected his players and took disciplinary measures internally. Southgate is a coward, he couldn't handle the heat and threw White under the bus, knowing full well how the English media would react.
There are issues with one of Southgate`s coaching staff, that`s why Ben White doesn`t want to play for England at this time (he wants his reasons to remain private).......................Southgate has thrown him under the bus.

You're asking if Southgate should have lied about the situation. The truth is he has lied; it's a big lie, him saying he doesn't know why. Southgate definitely knows why.
If you're going to tell the truth then tell the whole truth. It's totally hypocritical of him to tell only the part of the story that he wants out there and leave Ben White in this situation where he's getting all this stick based on speculation.

National coaches like Southgate have gotten lax cause there has always been options and they're always willing to play for the country. He (Southgate) should go the extra mile have a call with him or chat and ask to know why or what can be done? He obviously would respond different. People get so dramatic about things like this. It's not disgusting or disgraceful. Something went on between him and either Gareth or someone in the setup in Qatar and now he feels like it's not appropriate to join up with England at this time.

Benjamin White has obviously had a "run in" of some kind with either Southgate or one of his staff in the past, most probably when he was released from the world Cup squad with no believable explanation as to why. They must have resolved the issue and agreed to move forward positively as they mutually benefitted from that outcome, i.e., Southgate has a top right-back who is ALSO a top defender to call upon and White gets the international recognition he deserves and be part of a team that could actually win something. Win, win, yes? No. Southgate has hid his intent and all along, he only calls up Ben White to waste his time. He's not gonna play. Unless it's a dead rubber. We all know Southgate's right backs - Walker, Tripper, Trent, even James. You don't think immediately of Ben White. He knows this himself so he's done the right thing by asking to be left out.
