Maddison is the luckiest footballer in the history of the game. He can literally go missing for 3 months then have 1 good game and the media call out why is he not playing for England and what an amazing signing for Spurs he is, like he's been playing like in that match for the preceding 15 games, scoring and then throwing his pretend darts. Then he goes missing again for another 3 months. I've never seen a player given such an easy ride in my lifetime of watching the game. He's far too lightweight at this level.

I’m a spurs fan and rival fans calling the caller deluded have no idea what it’s like supporting this club for decades - called is spot on, nothing is ever going to change, we’re always in a “rebuild” and whenever we do decide to splash money it’s never on world class talent - it’s always on a player with low wages with no demand

In my case, I have Never, in 57 years of supporting Spurs, been so embarrassed about a win. That was daylight robbery and we don't deserve to be in the next round. I've been a staunch defender of Ange, but after last night I have to admit that my concerns are growing. To start with, he seems to have no idea how to rotate a squad. You change 4 or 5 players AT MOST, NOT 8, but he then compounded that by playing two if them out of position. Archie is clearly not a right back judging by the way he got repeatedly roasted, so why didn't Spence start the game in what is his natural position instead of coming on late on the opposite side? It certainly baffled me. Anyway, another concern is his growing dishonesty both with himself and with the fans. He said calling the performance flat was "harsh". No it wasn't. It was bloody generous. That performance was nothing short of disgraceful. Clueless, toothless and spineless. There was no skill, no heart and no fight. We simply got lucky. I won't even get started on the youngsters as they probably need more time to find their feet, but I saw nothing encouraging from any of them. Thank God for Kulu and especially Ben Davies. If that had gone to penalties, we'd be out. If Kulu hadn't come on, we'd be out. Even the rest of the subs did absolutely nothing. It was shocking. Truly shocking. I could go on dissecting this game for hours, but I'm getting more and more annoyed just writing this, so I'll shut up for now. I'm beginning to think this league is a step too far for him.
So some Spurs fans really think they can just suddenly win the toughest league in the world and give a manager just over a year to do so? I think the biggest thing lacking is perspective and respect.
