      My eustachian tube is blocked due to a fluid build up, I'm experiencing head pressure and neck pain at the back, what did you to get better or find relief? I have a appointment to see ad ENT this Monday. Unfortunately I've been having this issue for a month straight. In the past I'd get a fluid buildup with head pressure but never any neck pain so its making me worried and beyond uncomfortable

    I got spinal x-rays done the other day and it shows that my neck is curved in the complete wrong way,, and although I can't pin it down to a singular event, my Chiropractor says there was certainly a trauma to that region. I have been suffering with Eustachian tube dysfunction for 14 years (along with a host of other random symptoms that nobody has ever been able to make sense of). I have a lot of faith that fixing the abnormal curvature in my neck will really help things.
    Thank you, this is very educational and validating!

      It's nice to identify things that can be improved upon! X-rays certainly help with that. I've seen plenty of folks that are similar to what you're describing, and I also look into the TMJ/airway in cases like that. Sometimes a reversed curve is a result of diminished airway volume, and I co manage with a dental professional to help with that. But each situation is so different, that a "one size fits all" approach is impossible. Don't give up until you find your answer and relief!

    • @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075
      @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! The truthful answer is it depends. I wouldn't suggest upper cervical chiropractic care as as treatment option for eye related issues, but anecdotally I have heard patients report improvement with eye issues. There is a ton of delicate physiology related to eyesight, vision, eye movements, etc. that need to be diagnosed properly before you can assess treatment options. It all depends on what's going on, which is the boring but truthful answer!

    • @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075
      @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      In my experience, it's a combination of both. Typically there is an injury at some point, but the effects can be exacerbated over time by things like ergonomics, posture, etc. The symptoms may start after the injury, but more often show up much later. Hope that answers your question!

    Hi, i have been suffering for 8 months now due to hyperextension of the neck and my Eustachian Tubes are affected. I have neck swelling precisely under my chin creating a double chin. It is the most tender there. I'm in the UK & for the past 8 months i haven't been receiving any help for my issues. I have had Chiropractors try with treatment but nothing improves. Ive only had an ultrasound scan done in the space of this time and they found no abnormalities going on. I personally need an MRI doing I'm desperate as you cant request a scan doing on the NHS it seems. I had been looking into private care but it's costly and im unable to work currently due to this problem. Im plagued with headaches most of the time. Im just trying to seek out advice if possible. My mental health has massively declined aswell.

    Hey, thanks for the info! Throughout the past years, I've not been exercising as much and having horrible posture on the PC. Along with traps being super tight, in the past few months, I have been getting awful jaw pain along with the typical TMJ symptoms such as neck pain, shoulder pain, vertigo, dizziness, ect. Although the symptoms are improving, I still have sensitivity in my right ear along with pain sometimes. Also when I yawn I can hear my right ear with crackling noises. Its like the ET is not fully open or something is messing with it and causing sensitviity in my ear. I also noticed my bottom have shifted in terms of I think the bad posture throughout the years has led to my jaw shifting towards my right ear and causing pressure.
    Anyways, what do you think I should do? I do think it's muscle/bad posture related. I'm thinking a chiropractor and a orthodontic dentist to potentially see if I could realign my bottom teeth could help along with neck/spine adjustments at a chiropractor? What do you think about this, please and thanks for the video!

    Thank you very much .I've been experiencing ETD ,facial pain,neck pain and severe anxiety for years,I suspected it's related to having whiplash in the past..My Dr's told me it couldn't be from the vagus nerve.

    • @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075
      @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075  ปีที่แล้ว

      The vagus nerve is a critical nerve in the body, with so many branches. Neck related injuries such as whiplash can create vagus nerve issues through a few different mechanisms. It may be worth consulting with an upper cervical chiropractor to find out if that's an option for you.

    It it possible to have upper cervical issues without symptoms of pain? I have periodic tinnitus in left ear with no hearing loss that started suddenly and wondering if this is worth going in to upper cervical to check it out if there is no pain.

    • @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075
      @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my experience, there are other signs of upper cervical issues than tinnitus alone. Typically we'll see restricted range of motion, neck or head pain, etc. That doesn't mean there isn't something going on there, but usually mechanical neck dysfunction is evident as well. You can always be evaluated by an upper cervical chiropractor to know for certain!

That being said, we often have patients perform basic cervical range of motion exercises when we're working on these issues in office. They are obviously used in combination with adjustments and in the context of a full evaluation, but as a general rule you can try these out even if you haven't been adjusted!

      @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Elizabeth,
      I'd say to give it some more time, sounds like you're just getting started! There's often a lag time between when we begin adjusting and when the neurological symptoms respond. That's normal - healing takes time!
      If you get too many things going at once, it'll be hard to know what's working and what isn't. Typically with patients, we'll implement the dental work once folks are holding their adjustment for a couple of weeks and the symptoms plateau. OR if they aren't holding adjustments at all. I'd discuss it with your UC chiro, but you're on the right track!

      Mina,
      I can't comment on the affects of the medication as it's outside of my scope and area of expertise. As you can imagine, there are many factors that can affect the onset, progression, and severity of ETD. Our focus looks at the structural considerations, specifically with the upper neck. That being said, occlusion (teeth contouring) and TMJ issues can commonly reflect similar symptoms. It may be worth mentioning to your prescribing doctor and dentist for their feedback.

      Glad to hear that things are off to a good start! I can see that by now you're a month into care, so hopefully you're having conversations with your doctor about your prognosis and progress through care. I obviously can't speak to the specifics of your situation, but in my experience it takes time to make sustainable changes. As long as symptoms and objective testing are improving, then the neck side of things is being handled appropriately. If the progress with care seems to be going the way that it should, but that particular symptom is not improving, I look into other things for my patients, such as TMJ dysfunction.

In my practice, if we aren't seeing results in the first 6 weeks we figure out what we need to do differently. A lot of times that involves a referral to a TMJ dentist or ENT for further evaluation.

      That's correct, I did not. The goal of this particular video wasn't to describe self treatment, but more to report on the physiological mechanisms that we see with ear related complaints in a chiropractic setting. Any time you are treating the spine, it's best done by someone with professional training. The goal is to correct one problem without creating any new ones, so I advise patients against self manipulation.

      The trouble with symptoms is that multiple different conditions may cause the same symptoms. With that in mind, it's easy to misdiagnose things based on symptoms alone. As much as I hate this answer, it depends on the situation. First we do a consult and examination. That's the only way to really know for sure if upper cervical dysfunction is present. We also make an effort to differentiate the role the neck plays in symptoms like this compared to other issues. For example, problems with the ears themselves, and/or the TMJ come into play. On the neck side of things, we do low-force corrective adjustments, some stretches/exercises, and so on to get the adjustments to hold for a few months. If symptoms aren't improving, I'll typically refer for a second opinion by and ENT, TMJ dentist, or PT.

    I healed my ETD. here is how. first of all. your body can heal anything. just have faith. secondly. most health issues is caused by food, our dietary and lifestyle choices. my opinion for this issue is mucus and infections and solution is DETOX and mucus free diet. it's been 5 years since I became vegetarian and right after vegan, then raw vegan and fruitarian. I am healed now. 80% of my diet is fruit, the rest veggies or cooked foods if I don't have ripe fruit. Only healthy diet and a KEY for properly functioning body is Whole food plant based diet. (no oils like olive or coco and as much fruit as possible) So get a juicer and juice the f*ck up. and FYI don't be afraid of fruit sugar. sugar in its natural form as fruit is healthy in any amount. on the other hand processed sugar is different... so it took me few years to heal my ETD but if I did some extreme fasting protocol right away, it would take few months in my opinion. btw I don't reckon long water fast. only juice fast or 100% fruit diet. Fruit heals, fruit is nature's gift which have cellular-repairing properties that heals damaged DNA.

      That does sound very annoying! You might consider consulting with an upper cervical chiropractor to see if the two are connected.

    Just got back from the doc who rather dismiss that ear and neck are related when I tell him I'm twisting my neck to relieve my ear bc such movement did so for most of the blockage ...
    He said the chiro is a risk and that I shouldn't go to a neurologist. I feel I need neck traction to pop both neck and ear now.
    My neck scan showed a disk issue but not seemingly related yet bc it's on the other side.

      @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075  ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately I've heard that a lot of patients are dismissed when they asked about a relationship between the neck and the ears. ENT doctors are helpful and well meaning, but this just isn't a mechanism that they are trained in or familiar with. Many of the folks I have helped had similar experiences, so it may be worth a second opinion with an upper cervical chiropractor.

    Can I just have clogged ears that can be cleaned out by some dr???

    • @EH_888
      @EH_888 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can see if they need to be cleaned out but if that isn't the case you can consult with an upper cervical chiropractor. You can also see a biological dentist if you have mercury amalgams, root-canaled teeth, and dental cavitations (jawbone osteonecrosis). Some have reported relief after having those procedures done also.

      Hey Doublekickflip, that's definitely a possibility. The problem with any symptom is that multiple problems can cause the same symptom - which makes it hard to figure out on your own what thing to treat! If you do consult with an upper cervical doctor, they can help you identify what's causing it for you. Check this directory:

      Hi Elizabeth, thanks for your comment! I've noticed that these types of problems are multi-factorial and often take a team approach to achieve complete resolution. So all of those things that you've mentioned and more can be a part of the process to get things taken care of. It all depends on the needs of the patient!

      It's difficult to answer that question without any in office testing. What we could consider with a patient in that condition is the history of injuries, broader scope of function related to upper cervical spinal health, and then arrive at a diagnosis and treatment plan based on test results.
      You have a few options for doctors in your area that can assist with that, search here:

    I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but if you have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction, there really is no cure. Coming from someone who has gone to multiple ENTs and having all my tests come back normal, all my doctors just shrugged their shoulders and said there was nothing they could do. Like many other people who have struggled with this disorder, I too have been on multiple antihistimines and nasal sprays because the docs are so sure it's an allergy response. I would advice against holding off on the balloon dilation for awhile until it's more refined. I've heard a lot of cases where it can make things WORSE.

    • @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075
      @zenithupppercervicalchirop8075  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that you've had that experience, and in fact a lot of our patients with ETD have been down that road as well. We've also heard mixed responses about balloon dilation, but admittedly we won't hear from the folks who have had success.
      Our approach is to take a step back and look at the interplay between spinal structure, neurology of the head and neck, and theses conditions. I can see from the fact that you've found our video that you're continuing to research the topic, and we hope that you find an answer for your particular case!
