I was overdoing it with products and developed a skin allergy. It’s was awful. Found a good dermatologist who eliminated everything from my routine and instructed to wash my face with Dove bar soap. Twice a day I apply a mixture of 6% hydroquinone/.5% hydrocortisone crème and at night prescription adapalene. This also helps the melasma I started to develop. After just over two weeks, there is a huge difference. My skin has cleared up and is recovering it’s former smoothness. He also prescribed a cortisone crème for the rash and peeling skin around my eyes. The rash has completely cleared up. Conclusion: there is no substitute for seeing a very good dermatologist if you havé skin issues. I’d always had near perfect skin so tried to help myself, never needed a dermatologist before.

The retinol at night is a game changer.
I got a night cream at a drugstore a while ago, because my hydrating one got lost on a trip. 2-3 nights later, immediately im seeing some changes, the redness and pimples that i had for months, started to clear up, wtf! It was just a hydrating cream.
So i read the label and bam, retinyl palmitate, also known as vitamin A. That helps with the appearance of wrinkles, and can help with some mild acne.
Btw im 23, so i wasn't seeking retinol on my routine, my main focus is hydration, this was a nice surprise.

    A question for retinol:
Are you supposed to put it every 4 days(at night) or everyday ?

If you notice migraines or temporary loss of vision when using retinol stop using it immediately as these are the first signs of intracranial hypertension. We didn't realise this until too late and as a result my sister lost 70% of her vision and is now legally blind.

The basics really work for me. I find when I do too much, it gets crazy. I use a black seed oil soap and mb seaweed night cream. For some reason, washing with an actual cleanser in the morning washes away my glow from my nightime products. So I just mist with a face spray, sunscreen and go.
