You can’t say that they just don’t remember Peter being there with him and then say, “he might’ve never sat next to Betty” It doesn’t rewrite what happens. It doesn’t alter what happened in the past, Ned would just have no recollection as to why he sat next to Betty
Wouldn't that mean that even though the emotional bond that most characters have shared with Spiderman remain? if so, Peter would reveal himself as Spiderman and that would allow those who connected with Spiderman to carry over that connection to Peter. Ned and MJ were saved plenty by him, so they would have that bond regardless and just realise they now have a face to the name. That’s certainly an option that might even turn out really well, but I watched a video recently that goes into how everyone losing their memories is actually a really good thing for Peter’s character. Its an evolution into the more classic broke college student version of Peter who has a responsibility towards Spiderman and who now understands the risks to anyone who knows his identity. It's funny how in the Civil war the first appearance of Peter, he mentions that he would have liked to play football, but since he couldn't then he shouldn't now. The endgame battle kind of offers that opportunity, where "spiderman is passing the gauntlet from person to person".

Peter switched suits because the gadgets in his suits no longer function. It was hinted at during the movie where it said one of his functions were offline. Presumably to me because Tony isn’t living. So pepper saw no need to keep those things running taking up money & resources.
On top of that, Stark Indistries had things confiscated due to their workings with the supposed murderer/terroristSpiderman, so thay probably includes disablingthe suits, or at least the ability to recharge the suits
Yeppers, after the Stark tech investigation and confiscation all tech was down probably due to servers being taken down. You can see this on the bridge attack. At least the suit technically still works in terms of functionality and suiting up and down.
@@KingShibe Stark network was “offline” according to Spider-Man’s ai because it was “shut down” and implied by Damage Control (DODC) while Peter was being investigated for Mysterio’s death.
I think it's more that there's a mental block for everyone when trying to remember, and that every memory related to Peter is incredibly blurry, like a forgotten dream.
I think Wong still remembers who Peter Parker is. The line "Just leave me out of it." is what I am clinging on. Plus, Wong is trusted by every Avenger.
The KEY point and words were spoken by Wong when he said..."Just leave me out of this." So Wong will ALWAYS remember Peter Parker and SpiderMans history. Wong can explain to Dr.Strange and domino effect after that. BOOM!!!
My headcanon is that those who died are unchanged. In the revised timeline the only Avenger who knew spiderman secret identity was Tony Stark. The revision made it so he did not tell anyone and erased his investigative work. contacted Peter and told him to go to X place with a mask an a password where Happy would pick him up. Peter sews a suit to work under until he crack the programing of the Stark suit himself without Ned there to help.
I'd wager that reality altering magic only changes the memory of ppl and not the events themselves so tony would've done what he did, it's just that if he was alive, he would've remembered a masked peter.
Either a masked Spiderman or just blurry memories where for some reason people can't remember Peters involvement but don't really notice the memory is blurry.
@@ChrissaTodd tho if Tony is alive the event in Far From Home won’t happen since Tony won’t give Edith to Peter so Mysterio won’t even appear, I guess.
"Your desecration of reality will not go . . . unpunished . . . ." Such as: - using timestone to time loop during his bargain with Dormammu - using timestone, again, to checked multiple futures - NWH memory wipe that almost shattered reality itself
@@Sir_ArthurDayne he lost is because he was blipped 😂😂 he'll get it back. We'll see what ramifications there are in the future, perhaps Christine will die
It was well established throughout the film that Tom's Spidey was well supported by friends and family. so it was very heartwrenching to come to that point where suddenly he's all alone, and sadly still lost his aunt May to death. story telling on this was 💯. let's see how this emotional challenge will impact Peter in the MCU moving forward
My take on it is that the physical evidence of Peter's existence is actually still there, it's just that everyone is magically unable to remember, recognize, or understand any of it. The magic used doesn't alter material reality, because that would be Scarlet Witch level magic, it only alters how people perceive and remember reality.
So prob less like a magic that wiped the records, and more "Oh, hey, here's this Peter Parker kid. I wonder who he was, can't remember him" or smth like that I imagine then
@@eggy8730 exactly, it's this simple. the reason why he had to study his last year of high school again at the end of NWH because the academic events/result of that year are heavily based on him being unveiled to the world (MIT didn't accepted him and his friends due to them being associated to Spiderman).
@@eggy8730 but if this was the case mj would have recognised Peter in the coffee shop and be like "hey that's the stranger I got a bunch of pictures with who's name I can't remember" 🤔
I thought Dr. strange made it clear he couldn’t go back in time to change the past. So while their memories may be changed to mask or remove Peter completely, I don’t think they would’ve like removed Ned relationship with Betty or removed Ned having built the Death Star.
We were talking about a trip we took together with my family, and they were like "do you remember this?" "Do you remember that?" And everyone was like "yeah, that was so fun" "yeah, I know". But I was like "What?" "When?" "Where?" So that's pretty much what I believe happened to everyone else but Peter. Everyone else unable to remember/recognize Peter, and Peter keeping all of his memories
I imagine it how like In series 5 of doctor who Rory was forgotten but the little things were left behind eg the ring for Amy I feel the doctors speech about memory in that series applies quite well for this situation
I think all these totems that persist in spite of their memories being wiped leaves a lot of "because comics" wiggle room for Peter to spark their lost memories pretty easily in a future installment.
I'm still stuck on the picture that guilts Tony into doing time travel. It's without the mask, and I see it as "THE" reason Tony even helps in the first place. Tony saved Peter and Spiderman, but was only convinced by a picture of Peter Parker.
@TheWhiteTigerDragon it's not the worst plot hole. I find the biggest one is the fact that they change the fabric of time for college. I mean they had the college problem solved immediately.
What kind of broke my heart was Happy not knowing Peter, but remembering his relationship with Aunt May. Smh....messed up....and then Civil War...everyone remembers fighting the weird kid, but that's it...no one learned his name there anyways (other than Stark), but that's crazy.
No Way Home made me sad. Not because of the memory wipe, but how much I missed Tobey and Andrew Spidey. I wish they showed up first half of the movie as well, but just as fast as they appeared, they were sent back into the ether for us to wonder about their existence once again.
I think it’s not as complicated as people think, I think of it as when you have an old friend who you remember hanging out with but don’t quite remember his name or face
Far From Home wouldn’t have happened if Happy didn’t know who Peter was. He literally saves him in that movie, because he KNEW him. This memory swap has long reaching implications that would take far too long to explain
@@massterwushu9699 The events still happened. Happy just remembers them differently now. What he did back then doesn't matter to what Happy remembers now. That's the scary thing about memory alteration. It can sometimes give the results of time travel without actual time travel. As long as everyone remembers it one way, does it really matter if it actually happened the other way? You remove any evidence that it happened the other way and it might as well have not happened at all. If everyone remembers the altered version of the Mysterio storyline, the original storyline doesn't affect anything anymore. Only Peter remembers it. And maybe he'll get some strange looks if he talks about it to anyone, but they'll just think he's remembering it incorrectly, or just talking nonsense.
I reckon Ned forgetting Peter could set up him turning into Hobgoblin. Peter was his only friend at school and without him he could get bullied and feel alone and turn dark, therefore creating Hobgoblin
NED IS NOT GONNA BE HOBGOBLIN FFS! How tf will a weak and innocent kid transform into a powerful supervillain when he's just studying in MIT and doesn't have any connection with spiderman
Peter was still there throughout everything, he just isn’t remembered…. There was no change in the timeline. The way you speak about things, is that the past changed, but Strange clearly stated he can’t change the past.
I kind of want a subplot in the next trilogy involving MJ and Ned slowly piecing together the weird gaps in memories they have, figuring out that they knew Peter, then figuring out who he was by the end of the third film.
Thanks for referencing Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (a.k.a. my favorite movie). I love the argument that while you can erase a person’s memories of a specific individual, the emotional imprint remains 🥰
There are some characters with some level of magic immunity they could possibly play with. I presume dr strange and Wanda could have protected themselves but probably didn’t. The Hulk has a level of magic immunity but he would probably need to be in hulk form. Asgardians seem to have a level of immunity to earth magic. They don’t need to explore that but it’s a possibility if they wanted to.
I was scared it affected all realities and the end credits would have Toby and Andrew going back to their realities w their families / friends not know ing who they were .
That's my question, because in the video it wont affect other universes but if thats the case then why did other characters that is breaking the dimension at rhe last part took effect and didnt come to their universe
I don't think the past was altered, everything happened the way it happened. It's just that everyone's memory of Peter is erased along with any evidence that he exists, simple as that.
I just watched it in the theaters yesterday and was quite sad by the ending. I do hope he gets everyone to remember. He's such a pivotal character both as a hero and as Peter Parker within the mcu and many different huge fights. But I think what they've done here is Sony has found a way to officially cut the ties between the mcu and spiderman so that they can reuse him in their own spider-verse.
Back in November 2021, Feige and company said that Sony and Marvel are in the process of making a 4th movie with Holland reprising his role, as they plan on making three more films. I think that this movie was just ending this particular trilogy, as they begin another one. It felt like a final movie though it could have felt that way because of the lonely feeling that they created for Peter Parker being alone.
14:33 the homecoming suit was probably destroyed in far from home, since we knew peter was keeping it in his bag, and may said that his bags got blown up at the end of the movie
@@harshithn4810 I'm assuming he can't use it anymore because of how badly damaged it was after the fight, and now he doesn't have any way to repair it without stark tech
quick contradiction, I think that Ned and MJ still first got rejected by MIT but the good word that Peter earned for them still held and just erased Peter from that recommendation
We can all agree no way home was the best marvel film of last year Thank you all for the likes and awesome opinions in the reply’s hope ur all having a good day 😃
Wow that is totally crazy how 1 thing can rewrite so many others. Lots of work for the continuity writers and other people involved with these movies into the next movies.
It pained me when Peter decided not to say anything to MJ 😢 But the way they ended the movie by putting the Peter in the position he is in the comics being alone and poor without any friends or help was just perfect
I also was half expecting this to happen when he walked into the coffee shop, I don’t why, I guess we have just been trained by media to expect love triangle plot hooks lol.
I think the writers idea was “nobody remembers Peter Parker, don’t worry about what that means for the past because we don’t know and just focus on what it means for the next movie”
I see the next movie focusing on Peter checking up on his friends, his life alone , the responsibility he holds , him trying to get into mit and a villain that will make him recognize why being in the suit feels better than being Peter Parker because he no longer exist to anyone
14:33 That's mostly because of the fact that every one of those suits were stark tech. And since he's been erased from history, even if he had those stark suits, who would he rely on to repair them?
i believe that ned could remember peter more (or convince them) than mj because ned seemed like he would believe in anything cool, awesome and or mysterious. but with mj may be harder to convince.
3:50, that’s definitely inaccurate, he seems to have been on Christmas break, he didn’t complete his senior year and is taking the GED instead likely so he doesn’t have to mess with teachers not remembering him, interacting as much with friends, balancing school and a full time job (to pay for his apartment) etc. if his records were erased I don’t think he’d even be able to take the GED
Considering most of Stark's tech was confiscated by the DODC, I'm guessing that Peter no longer has access to the tools required to maintain the high tech suits.
One thing that I'm curious tho is when Peter-2 (Tobey) and Peter-3 (Andrew) return to their respective universes, do they still have memory on Peter-1 and their experiences together on Peter-1's universe?? Because for me, I think they still would. Besides, they're the same Peter Parker but from different universes.
The suits no longer work for two reasons: 1) Law enforcement shut down the Stark tech when they tried to apprehend Parker and his cohorts. 2) The nanotech suit was broken by Doc Ock. So both suits no longer work and Parker has to start over.
And other is it needs a password as a person and only peter parker is able to unlock it but since his identity is vanised he won’t have its access and suit will be offline
I kinda feel the high school stuff was all replaced because save for the most oblivious of individuals, knowing Peter to any degree of closeness would statistically ensure learning his identity. Removing his Highschool record and the memories of his classmates was the spells way to seal itself into a closed loop. It is the part that ensures the rest.
Nationwide lockdown has prevented me from seeing this movie a second time. I was lucky enough to see it the day before cinemas closed. But i can not wait to see it again soon!
I really wish I felt this way. I really was looking forward to it, but just too much happened, and so very many aspects of it were under-served. Andrew Garfield and Green Goblin were absolutely goated though.
it was implied in the coffee shop scene at the end of the film that he could, but he wouldn't, since that will only drag them back to the same dangerous path of a hero.
After watching this video and revisiting “Far From Home” in this context, I don’t know how the events of that movie could’ve been replaced with anything remotely close. Everything was predicated on a CLASS trip. And how (or why) does Fury track Peter down in Europe, even if he went there separately? I’m gonna just imagine Bruce Willis from “Looper” sat me down and told me not to think about it too much.
Another thing with the suit could be he can not repair then now so must make a every day suit. He could still have them but not risking them getting more damage so he can save them for when needed

Why is nick on the moon
Nope, all of is academic record has erased so is his docs with Nick fury
The Stark network was shut down after an investigation opened. So his tech is now on the open market. Lol
No, the Stark network was just down.
Then he'd still have his diploma & his Tony Stark designed suits, etc etc.

Peter needs to go to Wong to get help in the next film (if there will be a next film)
The KEY point and words were spoken by Wong when he said..."Just leave me out of this." So Wong will ALWAYS remember Peter Parker and SpiderMans history. Wong can explain to Dr.Strange and domino effect after that. BOOM!!!
Idc if I liked and commented on my own comment. My Wong LoopHole is Legit
Right I just checked the magic Encyclopedia and yup, facts.
I am kind of glad he's dead in this case so we'd never have to experience a tony that never met peter outside the mask in a sense
i agree it would be way simpler to just say- everything that happened, happened- but instead of peter- it was a masked spiderman.

I thought Dr. strange made it clear he couldn’t go back in time to change the past. So while their memories may be changed to mask or remove Peter completely, I don’t think they would’ve like removed Ned relationship with Betty or removed Ned having built the Death Star.
I was thinking the same thing. I don't think it affected the past at all. Just people's memory of the past.
So, theoretically, all they needed to do was originally wipe Quentin Beck from everyone’s memory?
lmao, fax
……….. bruh
but people might still have a memory of pete killing someone though no..? idk i read it somewhere too
@@jiaying8169

Actually all Dr. strange needed to do was just undo Beck ever having made that clip.
Tony saved Peter and Spiderman, but was only convinced by a picture of Peter Parker.
exactly, if he didn’t know peter then what motivated him to help in endgame?

You remove any evidence that it happened the other way and it might as well have not happened at all. If everyone remembers the altered version of the Mysterio storyline, the original storyline doesn't affect anything anymore.
Only Peter remembers it. And maybe he'll get some strange looks if he talks about it to anyone, but they'll just think he's remembering it incorrectly, or just talking nonsense.
