The fact that this guy lost time in the run from hitting a tree at the very start, then went on to what is now the former world record goes to show why you dont reset runs as soon as you lose time
we input the first direction, then exit and restart the same prompt over and over to finish it quicker than normal. we also set it up so the same buttons to do everything are set to one button (in 'n out)
we mostly use Tab for the run, but he always starts with a spray that tags upwards. we input up and then get out of the graffiti, and redo the same inputs over and over till finished. we remap our controls to make it easier and faster as well. i have it set to Y to just spam, but without remapping is super fast too

its probably impossible to get a jet rating when speed spraying on normal levels
