    Hi, I would like to thank you personally with this small contribution. I find your videos very interesting and very varied. Since February 1. 2017 i have been doing this workout three times a week as well as an additional 50 minutes of rowing. I feel healthier and fitter every day. In combination with intermitient fasting I could already lost 12Kg body weight. A body weight of 82kg, with a body size of 182cm, is my personal goal.
    thanks you so much.
    best regards from Germany
    Daniel

    Did this workout several days ago, it is phenomenal. I've been using kettlebells for over six months and find that the swinging dynamic coupled with the proper hinging technique is incredible for my abs, hamstrings, glutes, and probably other areas that feel well worked. This is a humbling workout, lighter weights do the trick as you state repeatedly. Thanks again for a great routine!

    I'm a 14 year old and I have been doing these kettlebell workouts constantly for about 6 months so far and this is the best KB workout out there. Before I had difficulty curling a 10 lb KB and now I can easily curl a 20lb KB. This is a great video, thanks.

    Just did this video using a 15lb and 25lb kettlebell- great video! my heart rate didn't get super high like it does with the HIIT+Kettlebell videos on this page, but this one focused more on controlled kettlebell(strength) motions which are great to do. Love this page.

      I can only do it on my right side for some reason. I can't decide if I should just move on to other exercises that aren't so weird or continue trying to master it. How long did it take you?

    • @helveeta
      @helveeta 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Elizabeth Simpson Yeah, my left side is definitely harder, I started holding an 8 lb dumbbell instead and just really watched what he does, make sure you kick your leg out first, it helps to get you up, when I first started I didn't get that part. I do this workout at least 3 times a week for the last couple of months so I finally am now able to hold a 6 kg (13lb) kettlebell and do a good 4-5 of them each side during the workout. It's now my favorite move!

    • @elizabethsimpson7103
      @elizabethsimpson7103 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Rad. I'm inspired. Just got a sandbag the other day and have done two workouts with it. I will always be a giant KB fan, but this is a fun alternative. Fitness Blender has a HALF TGU in one of the sandbag videos and I think mastering the first half might be a great way to finally getting the entire move down.

  • @fitnessblender
    @fitnessblender  11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    @Dorothy124 You are doing it right, if you need more time to get the repetitions done then take it, don't try and force yourself to keep up with me. Also don't be to worried about the weight I am using. If 3-5 kg is challenging but not so much as to cause you to slide on form then you are using what you need.
    Just for your curiosity I use anywhere from 5.5kg up to 18kg.

    • @Emblanefilms
      @Emblanefilms 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Make sure you do the stretches at the start and finish. And don't start too heavy with the kettlebells. Also, do take your time if you need to on each workout. Hit the pause button for breathers when you need it. And, whatever you do, make sure you are never bending your back. Always keep it straight for every excerise. And pay close attention to the way he keeps his posture. Otherwise you will injure yourself.
      I have lost quite alot of weight already and I am only at it a month. Good luck.

      I was doing 6 days a week with one day off, but now i realise after research that that is too much. So Im going to do 4 -5 times a week. The muscles can only repair and get bigger with rest days and the same for the weight loss.

    • @Emblanefilms
      @Emblanefilms 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Miho Johnson Yea. The problem was, I really started enjoying the workout but with only one day rest its simply not enough time for the body to recover. Good luck man.

But question: with the Rack & Hold, you say that we're doing the same motion as in the previous workout (the Clean, or Rack), so should the arm motion before the hold be a swinging motion like the Alternating Single Arm Swing, or more like the upward pull in the Rack? Really nice workout! I can't believe it burns so much calories! It was somewhat hard to be at your pace on a few exercises, but nothing that pausing a video for a few seconds can't fix. Are 3 and 5 kg dumbbells too light for this exercise?
    Can you include what amount of weight you are using on all your exercises as a point of reference?

  • @coolhandpaulnewman
    @coolhandpaulnewman 10 ปีที่แล้ว +17

    I'm really not trying to be a form nazi, but those swings... you place a great deal of strain on your back. I don't care if you tighten your ab or not, if the hip thrust isn't the primary motivator of that movement, it will torque your back over time. The actual thrusting of the hips forward should move the kettlebell, not your arms or back or abs. Since it isn't an arm exercise, the swing should not be that high.
    I am quite sure you and everyone watching this will get a good workout nonetheless, but with proper form, you will also be getting the proper muscles working. Try that swing with a 20-40 kg kettlebell, and you have major potential for bodily harm. Look at what happened at 6:58 could be disastrous with a heavy bell, or any bell whatsoever.

      Incorrect rack position too, actually this guy's technique is pretty much a 'what not to do'. If you want to do kettlebell workouts, check out somebody that's been trained by RKC.

    • @RowanTE
      @RowanTE 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      BTW, the swing you're talking about is called the American kettlebell swing, it was invented by Crossfit in the US. DO NOT DO American kettlebell swings, especially if you have postural problems with your shoulders from too much chair sitting, (like me) or you will injure your shoulders.
      breakingmuscle.com/kettlebells/rationalizing-the-swing-why-the-american-swing-is-wrong

      Rowan Togami-Evans Dear Lord, it has a name? That's worse than I thought. I just thought this guy did that. Anyone who knows the mechanics of lifting weights would realize this is not a good body mechanic.
      That is a good read you posted. For me, I feel it more in my back than shoulders (I don't do this swing, but I tried it once and it just felt wrong). My shoulders have always been pretty strong, which is why I need a strong back to support them. But I like that it highlights the main issue and not just an "I don't like it because my way is better" sort of explanation. After two years of kettlebells, I'm so much more in shape. I feel at least ten years younger... and I'm only 33, lol.

    I used kettlebell and biking to lose ~130 lbs a few years ago. Now that I've gained a bit back, I'm looking to start a new kettlebell routine. I actually really enjoy the look of this one; however, I'm not sure how comfortable I am switching hands with the kettlebell mid-swing. What would you suggest replacing those particular exercises with?
