    More music by Andrew Scott: andrewscott.bandcamp.com/albu...
    A review of the MSM-07S Z'Gok from the original anime series Mobile Suit Gundam (0079). Piloted by the always fashionable Char Aznable.
    - Production Notes to Help Me Keep Track of My Progression - Time!
    Feel free to read over if you’re into video production and want to maybe learn from my mistakes.
    - This video is technically a reupload of a previous review. However, I had to take it down and swap out the music, so I decided to make some updates. Below are the notes for the original version, followed by the notes for this updated version.
    - This was another experimental review. Maybe the most since the Zeta 2.0. Lots of new stuff.
    - First up, new camera. A Canon 6d Mark II. So, jumped to full frame for this one. Have a lot to learn, and not all of my lenses transferred over. My 24mm I used for the articulation section is an EF-S lens, meaning, it doesn’t fit on the camera. So, I used my 50mm for EVERYTHING.
    - This led to a pretty cramped articulation section. I need to buy a new full frame 24mm lens, but it’s like $600, so think I’ll just keep my old camera and break it out for the articulation section.
    - The focus points on the 6d Mark II are really clustered around the center. Getting something in focus around the edges of the screen is really hard. Gonna have to work on my “focus, pan, shoot” skills.
    - The lighting was also really poor on this review. Too dark. Really need to crank up the lights or ISO on the next one. Kits with darker color schemes always screw me up.
    - I didn’t use Adobe bridge for mass RAW exposure settings. I really didn’t take many pictures, and I think it shows in this review. Lots of repeat shots and footage. There just weren’t any gimmicks or variations in this kit. Ended up cutting a lot of audio in order to limit the repeating footage.
    - Speaking of Adobe though, it was screwy this whole review. Premiere had a bunch of settings changed and I don’t know why. For example, when I pan over a still image, instead of a linear path, it will “auto-bezier” so it’d have a boomerang effect. I SUCKS~. Was it always like this? Don’t remember it being that way. Maybe it’s the larger full frame image. It might triggers an auto-bezier feature. Or maybe it’s just more noticeable since I’m panning over a larger image.
    - Media Encoder also KEPT CRASHING. Not sure why. Is it because I’m still using 2018 Premiere (read Kampfer’s description) with a 2019 Encoder? Is it the larger size of the still images bogging it down? Is the bit rate of the new camera’s video too high? Is it a bug on Adobe’s part? Is it the new Windows 10 update 1809 or whatever? Who knows. Hopefully it will sort itself out on its own by next review time.
    - Anyway, tried some new things with the footage, mainly having scores on different sides. Just thought I’d mix it up.
    - Did some new things with editing too. Again, repeated a lot of footage, so needed to spice it up. Used inverse colors for text (Red headers, White highlighted text), and I did some new pans. Just make it look a little different.
    - Audio was a big thing on this video. I’m TIRED of having bad audio. It’s the one thing I just can’t nail. I recorded in Audacity like usual, but then imported into Adobe Audition. It has better noise removal and EQ settings, I think... I just slapped on the “vocal enhancer” feature though. It made everything sound better, but I think it boosted the bass a little too much, so at the last second in Premiere, I cut the low end a few db.
    - I just bought a pre-amp and have my eye on a real~~ nice microphone. So hopefully I’ll have this audio situation sorted soon.
    Here are the notes for this updated version:
    - New music
    - Slightly re-EQ'd audio
    - And that's it, considering this is the most recent review at the time of all these re-uploads. So not much to fix.
    Anyway, thanks for reading all that lol. Hope it helps you learn as much as it helps me keep track of what I've learned. I’m a firm believer people need a creative outlet, and maybe video production can be yours too! 😉 Here’s the music I was enjoying while I was working on this toy review.

    5:10 for those who are wondering this is what dalong said:
    The main difference.. Z'gok for Char is designed differently in limbs and parts of the waist.
    The polycap has been changed to be longer and deeper, which basically has the effect of extending the joints of the limbs longer.
    Two tendons (?) are added as soft rubber inside the joint.(he meant the rubber pipe on this kit is not present on the mass produced one)
    Compared with the mass-produced Z'gok joint, it can be seen that the joint is shorter and there is no tendon (the rubber piping).

  • @oliverb.9121
    @oliverb.9121 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

    The mass-production-type version of this kit does not have the rubber pipes in its limbs. Because of that, the limb segments do not have to be lined up correctly and you basicially get a 360 degree rotation at each segment and those segments all have slightly different angles. It is a noticeable, but not a massive improvement (bump 2.5 up to 3.0).

  • @lemeres2478
    @lemeres2478 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    6:00 admittedly, this kit kind of comes with its own built in "battle damaged" variation due tot the tubing. Seeing its arm removed like that, the inner frame combined with the tubing gives the appearance of a suit that suffered the loss of a limb in battle. mostly because the tubing doesn't entirely line up with the remaining arm (Rather than the clean removals at the joints you see in normal kits).

    Do more old school aquatic mgs and you have enough reviews to start doing reviews of 1.0s of your 2.0s and compare it could be a new variation of your reviews and keep people interested in older model kit reviews (reviews)
    Also from the video, the mass produced z'gok, it doesnt have the cables or the option for 4 claws but makes sense because I dont think that was I thing for their specs

    Redhead phones I found a mg z'gok on Target's website for $37 but I also found a mg zaku 2.0 for the same price. Which one should I get? I like the designs of both and my criteria is that it has to be solid and at least 7 inches (about the size of a voyager transformers which is my preferred size) and easy enough for a beginner. Thanks my fellow head phone user. I think that this version has better articulation than the mass production type. Oh and all your reviews are just 👌👌👌👌

    • @redheadphones6
      @redheadphones6  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hmm, that's a tough one. I'd say the Zaku ver 2.0 is the better kit. It has a way more intricate inner frame, amazing part separation and it just looks perfect. I do have a soft spot for older MG's like this Z'gok though. They aren't objectively as good as a version 2.0, but each one is so unique, ya know? This Z'gok specifically looks fantastic, but the build has more than a few bad nubs and the articulation is pretty lacking. Personally, if you don't have a 1/100 Zaku yet, then that'd be my pick! Best of luck!

    Hi, i found both this kit and the gm 2.0 for 35 eur at the online gunpla store i usually order from, and wanted to ask whether or not this build is long enough to feel satisfying for the price? I greatly prefer the design of the z gok, but the gm seems to be a more complex build, and as i mostly build gunpla to unwind, that really affects my experience.

    regula Z'Gok have 99% like Char's Z'Gok. but he have no tube in side forearm and leg, and only have one option is 3
    claws, ( 4 claws and red is commander type. so if you buy char's Z'Gork mean you can build Z'gok Commander type with 4 Claws or char's ver with 3 Claws )

      You could ask me, I'm here lol. I tend to do small coats usually like 3-4 layers. I put a layer down, then wait 4-5 minutes for it to semi-dry, then do another coat. It usually mixes with the previous coat and allows me to apply more paint on the surface than if I were to do it all in one go.
