    Very intricate kit. You did a great job assembling the small pieces. Final product looks great. Keep up the good work.

    Nice build, think I am gonna try one in DAK livery. By the way, the 4 green lights on the back are convoy lights for keeping the right distance at night. If you can see 4 lights you're too close, only 1 and you're too far away. At the right distance you should see 2 lights.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks a lot - the lights make a lot of sense since they used the headlight covers. Good luck with yours!

    Nice build..I have just bought this and will take on board all the advice you state.... The light you mention is actually a night time distancing light for use in convoys. If you see 1 light it means you are too far away from the vehicle ahead of you, if you see 4 you are too close and if you see 2 then you are at the correct distance. Many German army vehicles contain this feature and Tamiya includes it. Im not sure of the lights colour though if you were to paint it! Im guessing it would be the same colour as the vehicle as it would only be seen at night

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Yes, someone else mentioned that distance light feature - clever since they would have been using minimal lights to hide their positions. The instructions said green so that's what I did!

    How did you glue the already painted tracks to the roadwheels? Did you use super glue as tamiya extra thin wont work on painted parts.

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No I did use extra thin - as the tracks were brush painted, there wasn't much paint in the gaps and they went together fine.

    • @statoilbensin2190

      @@BOABModels im just gonna prime and airbrush them on the sprue and sand away paint where the glue is needed. Do you think this is a good idea?

    That's a very tiny and cool engine and great build Thomas and you need to build a old custom 50 or 60s style Hotrod!

    • @BOABModels

      Thanks a lot Shawn. Yeah, I'd like to do that but finding kits in the UK isn't so easy - maybe I could customise a Revell kit...

    I agree the extra thin is great. It is super hot so glues really well, and/but when not in between plastic it evaporates quickly so leaves (almost) no marks. You need not (but can Ofcourse) flood the parts. Just hold them together and the touch (preferably from hidden places) it briefly with a half unloaded brush of glue. Gently but steadily swipe. Via capillary action the glue will creep only onto the to be glued surfaces. Any in sight touched parts will not be marred. If you are a stickler you can use a glasfiber pen to “clean” up but if left alone while drying you cannot see the glue marks beneath paint. Don’t keep meddling tough, swipe, hold together but otherwise leave alone, be careful where you touch as it will run between finger and part and that is a disaster.

      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cheers mate - totally. I was building a 1/24 figure at the same time and it looked like a giant! It was about 10 hours so pretty quick. Second time I've built on a deadline this year!

    Very nicely done. I love so many of the military vehicles but just never liked the scale. Maybe it is time to look past that....

    • @BOABModels
      @BOABModels  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks a lot, Spencer. I guess because I started with 1/32 cars, this scale doesn't feel too off. Just the parts felt very delicate I guess.

    That looked a fun build Thomas, nice result! Like you say, different to car kits in the build process, and a lot quicker to build, and you csn really go to town with the weathering, try a tank next time!

      Thanks Paul - maybe I will. I certainly think it helped my enjoyment that this kit was so well made too.
