Is it just me or this helicopter still is the best looking flying object one can possibly lay their eyes on? Can’t believe we are in 2021 and still haven’t topped this.

I'm 40, it played in Pakistan when I was 8. It's still my favourite TV series.
Just sad that Jan Michael-Vincent passed away. RIP. At the same time, I'm happy that he went to a better place

The Airwolf theme still outclasses many tv series themes of today. It was made with simplicity and the tune is now immortalized, way ahead of its time. And even today, it's the most beautiful air vehicle ever designed. I don't see any modern helicopters that are as sexy and elegant as Airwolf. I am so fortunate to have had the 80s as my childhood to enjoy these treasures of television. Thanks for the awesome remix and it never gets old. I could listen to this all day and never get bored. Literally.

Yes. I agree with all said here. I was in my 20's in the 80's. Airwolf and other TV shows were great. How I wish I could go back in time to the 80's. I would never come back.

Airwolf. The story of how one of he most heroic pieces of music ever written turned a commercial helicopter and a moderately well written script into an immortal classic.

Well, you do have to admit that Andrew Probert's mods to the Bell 222 converted it from a reasonably attractive, but mundane, commercial helicopter, into something that still looks like a legit piece of sinister military tech.

actually what made the story a hit was that every young boy wanted to be the pilot of a helicopter so powerful that when you got into the cockpit all your troubles would seem minuscule

I live close to my towns hospital, and any time I get to hear or see the Air Ambulance starting up and taking off, THIS tune is rocking along to it in my head. Makes the Air Ambulance launch _SO_ much more epic!!! 😁
I loved this show in the 80's. It had a cool name, awesome looks, catchy tune and packed with state of the art technology. The Airwolf still looks futuristic in 2022.
It's a shame it crashed after it was sold.

Dam 80's TV was good! Was there but took it all for granted. Didn’t think that era would ever end, instead believing it would just get better.
Brings back great memories-used to watch this show and loved the music so much.
Airwolf, knightrider and Streethawk. 3 different 80s shows about super vehicles that are so campy but still so fun today.

I've recently downloaded all the knight rider, A-team and soon will do air wolf shows and honestly it is like therapy and a pleasant break from today's reality. The 80's were forward thinking and optimistic about the future yet enough innocence and charm that just cheers you up to relive it all over again.
I was in middle-school when Airwolf first aired. I fell in love with the show, and even more so the music. I had one of those portable tape player/recorders next to my bed with this song recorded and cued up so I could listen to it first thing in the morning. Yeah, I was a weird kid... Fun memorable times. RIP Jan-Michael Vincent.

A schoolmate had one of those early arcade flight simulators with a joystick. He sat in front of me and I had a Commodore keyboard on my lap and an old tv screen to my right. When his Dad came home from work and saw us...he went back to his garage and gave us some motorcycle helmets to make it more realistic...what a proof of love...!

I loved 'Knight Rider', but honestly the fight scenes in 'Airwolf' were better, both in the air and on the ground, and Jan-Michael Vincent was simply a better actor than The Hoff. It's too bad that he became the poster child for how alcohol can destroy your career. Rest in peace.
I always thought Airwolf's relationship to Knight Rider was more like: "That's cute kid, now hold my beer."

Airwolf, Knight Rider and The A-Team were my top 3 tv series growing up in the 80s. When the DVD boxsets came out I of course had to get them.

Just nostalgia. Such a great show. I watched it religiously on Thursday at 20:00, in Holland.
The most stylish,aggressive,bad ass helicopter ever created.the nose and body design reminds me of a shark,is unique.
Now that i am mid-aged i realize how well made this series were. It's not only a very catchy theme and a super war machine; the midair shoots are incredible, and the pilot is a true ace.

Ya, it's such a shame... Jan made the show such a part of his identity instead of looking at it as an acting gig, that when they replaced him and whatever other issues, he turned to Alcohol and literally destroyed himself.

The design of Airwolf are so good, that even today at 47 years old Im not truly convinced Airwolf wasnt real.
That very first open sequence of the first episode with iguana lizard falling off the wheel as Airwolf takes off for fist time. Such a cinematic shot for a 80s show, got cheesy later, but that first episode hooked me as a teenager. So amazing for the time. Seeing Clint Eastwood in movie "Firefox" on TV a few weeks before helped put me in the mindset for airwolf as well.
"Firefox" is almost unknown these days. Amazing film that captures a lot of the 80s.
One of the best remixes. Still watch it to this day.

As a boy about 5-9 years old, I remember being JUST as thrilled by hearing the exciting music, engine, music and sounds and seeing scenes like this half a century ago, not knowing anything different or what's coming, with Chuck and PT, the WHIRLEYBIRDS with a, now beloved classic Bell-47, that looked to me then like this almost miraculous state of technology NOW! Both aircraft just made your jaw hit the ground in awe when FIRST seeing what they do as a matter of course. Here as well with Airwolf. Isn't progress just magnificent to see AND just a matter of perspective?

2021 still one of the most badass looking helicopters ever
I earned a pilots license because of reruns shows like Black Sheep Squadron and Airwolf late at night as a young kid. When my dad caught me up on school nights, I would tell him I would sleep during the commercials (no joy 😂). Flew my older brother once and messed with him a bit in flight. To this day, he still plays this theme song to me
and chuckles.

Man, you took me to the golden 90s of my childhood. We used to watch it at night and talk about the story in classrooms next morning here in Pakistan. Airwolf and night rider these were the two best series our national TV used to telecast then. We loved it.

RIP Ernest Borgnine and Jan-Micheal Vincent and the Helicopter herself and the Pilots who were flying a medical emergency with a Patient on board. When TV was gold.
It was fitting that this helicopter became a true life hero after the show . And it was sad to hear of its fate .
The patient was not on board when it crashed. They were returning from a patient delivery when they hit a hill in low visibility.

never watched the show because the tv lineup when i was a kid was crazyyy so mom forced us to turn off the tv. but she let us just watch the intro to Airwolf, before telling us to to go to bed. man, i wish i could go back to the 80's.

Hey, did anyone ever notice when you watch Airwolf’s shadow moving on the ground, what does it remind you of? Another 80’s tv show Airwolf was based on - KNIGHT RIDER!!!!
Pushing the buttons, moving the hands over the console, camera movements, blasting off, G-forces pushing the operator back in his seat, the black exterior, dark interior giving access & maneuverability to the operator. Desert scenes when the sun is bright. I loved the 80's, but in hindsight, a lot of the tv shows were giving the same message. Dang, I wish I could go back.
well yes and no it's the same basic idea I guess. K.I.T.T was a Knight Foundation project it was supposed to be a freelance agency that could take on criminal activity without being restricted by Jurisdiction and things like that.
AirWolf was a top secret stealth helicopter String fellow stole it from them but promised to give it back if the Government agency running the program would help him find his lost brother who String believed was still a P.O.W in Vietnam.
As part of their agreement String an Santini flew it on missions for them.
It made a cool storyline but in reality something like that would have been kept at Area51 where nobody would be able to get their hands on it.
If some test pilot or anyone tried taking something like that they would more than likely be put to death.

Airwolf is a similiar concept of a TV serial with the well-known Knight Rider. Both were extraordinary vehicles. Intros were quite impressive. This last remix is a bonus for the fans . Thanks a lot.
Knight Rider hasn't stood up to the test of time as well as AirWolf. Both have been repeated on UK tv several times in the last few years and whilst I have watched every series of AirWolf at least twice I haven't even managed to get through the first series of Knight Rider once!

Knight Rider was too far out in terms of what the car could do, and how completely invulnerable it was, whereas Airwolf had constraints on what it could do, had to fly without weapons if the mission was very long range, and was vulnerable to heavy weapons. Knight Rider was also very idealistic. The cynicism of Airwolf created a more mature feel.
I loved it as a kid, always loved it. I wanted to be a part of ot..wearing the helmet and jump suit..
How you couldn't give a toss about the programme itself and you just love the theme music haha
