A fantastic tribute to the series and of course the fantastic helicopter. I think this Bell 222 is the most beautiful helicopter ever. As a 59 year old I can enjoy it again.
Quite easily, one of the greatest theme songs of all time. When I was a kid and heard this coming from the living room, it was a full on scramble to the TV. The first season had more of a Cold War edge theme to it, and those are some of the best episodes of the bunch.
My motorcycle helmet has that dark drop down visor, and every time I hit the button for it to engage, I always think of this show. Of course, most times I’m headed to the store or a movie, and not taking on some international baddie.
First season was the best. I'm still unhappy about what they did in later seasons. Was executives meddling yet again, just like they later did with SeaQuest DSV after its first season.
Props to the cameraman, stunt pilots and camera crew pilots to be able to pull off superb flight stunts and sequences. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear Airwolf's howl just like the Imperial Tie Fighters when they screamed past you on the screen. Really miss all that type of innovation in movies and TV that made them so memorable and iconic.

I saw this bird at a air show in 1989. I stood with the military police and "guarded" this beast. Joined the military to be a helicopter crew chief after that experience. Did 23 years and loved every second of it. Still the best helicopter ever made in my opinion. Hell I named my dogs Hawkeye and Airwolf.
Yeah I kinda know what they mean. Although I kinda get the feeling these two, String and Dom ain’t been laid in a while? Maybe String’s still cut up about Archangel’s first dolly bird 🦢 assistant who died at the hands of Moffet , Airwolf’s creator and is the reason String’s such a moody git. 🤣 Her name won’t come to me right now 🥸😒🤬🙄 (thanks again useless brain 🧠) unless it was Gabrielle ? The one he got before Marella. 🥵🥵😍😉😉🤓. Don’t get me wrong 😑. The Bell 33 or whatever it’s called (the helicopter 🚁 Airwolf is based on is a beautiful thing but it’s just a helicopter. It’s like neither of the guys have seen a woman in their lives. I know it’s a while before Caitlin O’Shaugnesy comes along and joins the party but I think they need a hobby or something because fixing planes and aircraft for a living isn’t doing it for them ; hence the aircraft fetish. 🤔🤨😁
As a kid in the early 80's, my father would watch Airwolf with me and it's something that has stuck with me well into my mid 40's. The quintessential tribute indeed, nicely done !!
Let us all be ever grateful for the amazing piloting skills of the pilot who gave us all of these fantastic scenes of the chopper to look at. No CGI here, all real.
Proud gen X'r here!!! This still gives me chills and reminds me of the world when people were tough, people weren't offended by everything! No safe spaces....
Now **THIS** is a testament to the imagination and creative versatility of all those developers and dreamers who made TV in the 80's ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!
I loved this show when I was a kid. The theme song was so epic and the Airwolf startup sequence music was the coolest thing I had heard in my young life at the time.
Watching this little tribute actually made me realize how insanely pricey production must have been for the series. Helicopters are not cheap, even rentals. Great show, one of my favorites growing up.
@mandellorian Yeah I noticed the difference in season 4. The quality of the show really went downhill and looked similar to those early morning cartoon shows on a cheap budget.
2 things I remember best about this phenomenal series when I was a kid. 1.: The Music... when the Music kicks in the adrenalin rush is abnormal just pure beast 2.: The "SCREACHING" of Airwolf when engaging in combat and doing these insane turns, that sound was haunting and dangerous and beautiful at the same time. Best Series ever!
Yeah, I loved to hear the 'wolf howling in combat and snarling too sometimes! It's very similar to the howl from a Vulcan bomber, another of my favourite aircraft! Search on TH-cam for "Vulcan howl" and you'll see a few examples.
So grateful this show was a part of my childhood and that it wasn’t made today. If it had been, it would have been some horrible cgi and we would have never had the privilege of witnessing the real and amazing maneuvers this aircraft and it’s pilots performed. So sad it crashed in real life. RIP JMV, EB and the real Bell helicopter used as Airwolf.
Man, the composer of this theme song is truly a genius. He managed to incorporate the sound of spinning rotor blades into this awesome masterpiece. Listen carefully to the first 9 sec starting @ 0:30
The vehicles and situations represented in Airwolf and Knight Rider were essentially what many boy's daydream about while bored in the classroom. A big reason why these shows were so popular. 😁
When I was a kid, air wolf was the best looking object I'd ever seen. It's hard to describe the shear awe, truly captivating. The way they got the camera frame rate spot on to capture the rotors is awesome. The show was actually not that great (after season one) and even as a young boy I knew that, but I didn't care, just look at that helicopter!
The ultimate attack helicopter which arguably looked as beautiful and graceful as any of the spitfire MKS. A true stroke of genius by Bellisario. One, if the not the ultimate TV series.
This is amazing, amazing, amazing. The only thing missing, and I feel horrible even mentioning it (because this is so incredibly well done) is a sound bite or two of the blood-curdling noises the chopper made on the show. Both that eerie whistling sound she made at low speed, and that shrieking sound on acceleration always sent the chills up my spine.
@@davelewthwaite That’ll be a double thrill, my mother is from Aberaeron and we used to go for hikes and picnics in the country often enough to encounter jets doing practice runs. I’ll definitely look it up.

I've never seen Airwolf footage so clear and sharp before. Must be a high quality digital transfer from the original film masters. Wish it was this clear back in the 80's. Would LOVE to have a 4K blu-ray of the series.
Woaaaah!!! I remember this!!!! I never would have rethought of it if I hadn’t heard this tune again!! I think I used to have a toy of this thing too!!! 😃
This has been on a constant series loop for the last couple of years here in Britain and it's so compelling and as good as it was in the 1980s that I've watched it every time and haven't been bored of it yet (well apart from the awful last series but that one doesn't count!).
"No matter how many times I see her, she still takes my breath away." What an amazing machine... I don't care that the music is so 80s techno... if you have that tune in your blood, it's simply sweet music. I wish this show was still streaming somewhere... it was fun.
Hell yeah! I was in 5th grade and use to take my toy air wolf to school and in recess I would go to the sandbox dig a hole and pretend air wolf was coming out! Memories. Circa 1988, SoCal

A fantastic tribute to the series and of course the fantastic helicopter. I think this Bell 222 is the most beautiful helicopter ever. As a 59 year old I can enjoy it again.
Beautiful but unreliable. Was nicknamed Bell Triple Trouble
I flew into the living room when I heard this song lol
Airwolf's color scheme is that of an orca. A killer whale. In other words, it's an apex predator.
I never noticed that but you are absolutely right. Apex predator. If that doesn't sum up airwolf I don't know what does!
Apex predator has become another mindless cliche.
Wolves are of course Apex predators
Props to the cameraman, stunt pilots and camera crew pilots to be able to pull off superb flight stunts and sequences. Gives me goosebumps every time I hear Airwolf's howl just like the Imperial Tie Fighters when they screamed past you on the screen. Really miss all that type of innovation in movies and TV that made them so memorable and iconic.
100% well said. The AIrwolf and TIE fighter screams were so iconic and effective.
Omg yes! Love that sound!
This is design excellence… this thing is nearly 40 years old, and still looks like it’s from the future!
Too bad that it was plagued with engine and landing gear issues.
I agree man the design is still super awesome till this day
Too right
I’m glad I got to grow up with this as my favorite show as a kid. ❤
Born 79, raised by Airwolf. Love this compilation.
Born 82, raised by Airwolf. Love this compilation.
As a 90's kid in Britain, nothing excited me more than both Airwolf and Knight Rider.
Like wise here in the states..
I also loved A Team and McGyver :)
@@abalamdepaimon6891 me too.😉👍
I don't know theses shows aired in the U.K.
I didn't know these shows aired in the UK.
She was so beautiful. Greatest thing ever created. I teared up watching this. Thank you for making it.
You're very welcome. It was a labour of love and completely unintentional.
Loved this in my child hood, now 45 years old but still can't forget it and watch it very often.
How can 168 people dislike Airwolf when she remains to this day the cooliest helicopter that ever was?
I Like To Thank You For Taking Me Back In Time To The 80's When I Watched This Show As A Kid . This Show Was So Awesome And The Special Effects And Explosion 💥 Looked So Good To Watch ⌚ Jan Michael Vincent And Ernest Borgnine Was A Great Team Fighting The Bad People Of The World 🌎 I Just Love The Design Of That Super Helicopter 🚁 And The Weapons They Used Too. Thanks For The Memories Of My Childhood Yours Truly James From Joelton TN 😎👍🤗🤓
Same here 👍 , time is going by so fast 😐. Enjoy every day, make it count...!!
@@RomulanWarbirdDecloaking-sd2ir I Definitely Will Do That Thanks For Liking What I Said Cause The 80's was The Best Era. Yours Truly James 🤓
Hello Again I Wanted To Say That I Also Watched Other Awesome Shows Like Laser Hawk Which Was About A Super Charge Motorcycle Which Could Shoot Lasers. Another One Was Called Viper About A High Tech Sports Car. Of Course I Couldn't Forget Knight Rider Which Was My Favorite Show. Yours Truly James 🤓
Ooh you are lucky then.
@@PazuzuStalker Thanks. But as with all formal names I shortened them to Hawk and Wolf. Two lab siblings, the female is Wolf and the male is Hawk.
@@rumilagukhool4023 Quite lucky.
God bless you dear.

Bravo! Some iconic words by Dom *"no matter how many time I look at her String, she sure gets my heart pumping"*

"Yeah!"
Stringfellow Hawke, Coolest name ever!
Love seeing the lady. Twas my favorite tv show as a kid, I'm 49. Bless you for this footage. This is the best tribute to Airwolf I have ever seen!
And this is what I LOVED about the 80's!!!!!! Man this show was so awesome!!!!!
Damn they don’t make shows like this anymore!!! Thank you for the amazing tribute, Airwolf was long overdue for a quality piece of work like this!!!
And the Comanche too although it Never made it to production that I know of…
Checking back in a year later, yup still get goosebumps every time I hear this theme song!!!
There needs to be more shows like this one. This one still makes me smile.
Still gives me goosebumps after all these years. Airwolf was "the" show for me during the 1980s and cold War.
So many great shows back in the day. I loved Airwolf, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would probably be The A-Team
As a kid in the early 80's, my father would watch Airwolf with me and it's something that has stuck with me well into my mid 40's. The quintessential tribute indeed, nicely done !!
The Best Tribute on TH-cam, Great Programmer, sweet Airwolf NICE
I am a 80s child and this theme song speaks to what this country can still become 🎉
Amen to that sir.
Let us all be ever grateful for the amazing piloting skills of the pilot who gave us all of these fantastic scenes of the chopper to look at. No CGI here, all real.
We need a reboot of this incredible show!!
I totally love Airwolf I watched back in the 80s when I was a kid & I've got all of Airwolf on dvd she is a true Lady
Proud gen X'r here!!! This still gives me chills and reminds me of the world when people were tough, people weren't offended by everything! No safe spaces....
Thank you. Friday nights were reserved to record Airwolf on VHS. Thank you for the memories.
Indeed, not forgetting the way the Lady howled..
this was the best TV show growing up as a 9 year old watching this spectacular show was great, thank you!
Watching this little tribute actually made me realize how insanely pricey production must have been for the series. Helicopters are not cheap, even rentals. Great show, one of my favorites growing up.
I remember reading somewhere that production was around 1-3 million per episode, and this was in the mid 1980s. Imagine that in today dollars.
@mandellorian Yeah I noticed the difference in season 4. The quality of the show really went downhill and looked similar to those early morning cartoon shows on a cheap budget.
Absolutely loved this show growing up. Beautiful helicopter, great theme music. RIP to the pilots..🙏🏻 Great tribute....
LOVED Airwolf! Music just gave me chills! Thank for taking me down memory lane!
Loved this show when I was a kid. Time to break out the box set and rewatch her again
The pinnacle of awesome. Literally makes me cry.
...when she sways side to side, drops her nose and heads straight for the camera - awesome!!
Had to come back to watch this again! Great job putting this together! That film crew were masters and so was Sylvester Levay! Amazing.
I loved this as a kid,it was awesome back in the 80's to have this on itv every Saturday morning.I loved it.
Sylvester Levay was the composer.
Good catch
I always feel the music syncs perfectly with the spinning blades images of airwolf, like 1:34 - 1:37 and 2:37 - 2:45. I didn't know why, now I know.
What a great flashback to my youth. Even had the hairs standing up. I needed that today.
Thanks for uploading ✌
Beautiful tribute!!!
I loved it!!
Bravo to the creator and thank you for paying homage to something so beloved from my childhood!!
Still one of the best TV themes in history!
One of the best intros also for an action/adventure TV show.
100% synthesized music
I don't care how old I get. I never get tired of that theme song. It still hits hard
The vehicles and situations represented in Airwolf and Knight Rider were essentially what many boy's daydream about while bored in the classroom. A big reason why these shows were so popular. 😁
I’m 12 and I love Airwolf and I daydream about it all day
When I was a kid, air wolf was the best looking object I'd ever seen. It's hard to describe the shear awe, truly captivating. The way they got the camera frame rate spot on to capture the rotors is awesome. The show was actually not that great (after season one) and even as a young boy I knew that, but I didn't care, just look at that helicopter!
I'm 59 and grew up with Airwolf bring it back It's been to long come back sexy LADY
Listen to Typhoons doing the Mach Loop in Wales. This may scratch your itch.
But you are right. They called it.
@@davelewthwaite That’ll be a double thrill, my mother is from Aberaeron and we used to go for hikes and picnics in the country often enough to encounter jets doing practice runs. I’ll definitely look it up.
That would have been icing on the cake.
We were so Technologically Advanced in the 1980's and we all planned for the future, thought ahead and dreamed of a future like Blade Runner and Back to the Future 2. This is Classic 80's TV, showing where the Airforce and Technology was under Regean. I feel as if in the late 2010's to the early 2020's we've gone backwards.
You're still making incredible aircraft. Stuff like F-35 is in a league of its own.
i think what was so amazing about this show was that it was all practical effects. From the helicopter to the stunts to all the pyrotechnics and camera work. Just like Top Gun. Makes me wonder how Top Gun Maverick is gonna look.
Used to come on after wrestling on Saturday afternoons on ITV. Good times.

This made me shed a tear. Airwolf ❤

What an amazing machine...

Oh hell yeah. Years later. Sometimes i still do.

Everyone AFTER gen X will sadly NEVER have the pride and joy of growing up in the 80s!!! Long live gen!!!! Such a badass show!!! Having nostalgia overload right now!!😂😂😂😂😂😂
Nice tribute. I watched this avidly back in the 80’s. Yeah it had lots of recycled shots, but goddamn what an awesome show. Most episodes hold up today, particularly the pilot.
Real shame though, All the stars of this show are gone now. Jan-Michael Vincent, Ernest Borgnine and of course our lady Airwolf.
Can’t blame them. Imagine the cost of both fuel and maintenance for the 222, even with the budget they had.
@@TheDogofTin That's why in later seasons you can see the obvious switch for the RC helicopter in a lot of the exterior action flight scenes. Sad, but obvious cut in production money.
childhood memories with AIRWOLF background music . God bless him who composed this music .
Sylvester LeVay is who composed the theme.
That brought back some memories. The 80's was such a great decade to be a child.
The cinematography has a huge part in making this look great still. Such epic scenes.
