Our father, a keen Manchester CITY supporter, was always a little annoyed that my brother and I wanted to support MUFC. Finally relenting, he said that we could go to the next home game at Old Trafford. This was the match. He and I will never forget that night. We, with tens of thousands of other supporters I'm sure, often think of what might have been!

What must have been going through Harry Greggs mind? A couple of weeks earlier he was playing with one of the most promising group of players in the history of football.
From his perspective too he could see the whole team in front of him. No disrespect to anyone who came in to replace the deceased players (what a sad honour), but there's no way they could lace the boots of those who passed away.
It must have seemed like such a nightmare, surrounded by strangers and ghosts.
Such strength to be able to play through that. It seems rough that he left the season before United won the European cup in 1968.
