Never the greatest scottish footballer of all time. The greatest striker certainly !! but Kenny Dalglish was an all rounder. From a Celtic fan 1st then utd 2nd incase you think I'm scouse lol.
@@FraserFoster-u3f Celtic fans voted for Jinky as Celtic's best ever player, not Dalglish, if I'm not mistaken. Imo Law is certainly the best player that Scotland ever had. His record is much superior to that of Dalglish who was a fellow striker so it's a fair comparison! Law scored the same number of goals in half the number of games for Scotland!
I was at his debut in August 1962 my first game at Old Trafford and of course he scored .From the first minute I saw him I couldnt take my eyes off him and from that moment onwards he was my hero. I am noe 72 and not ashamed to say he is still my one and only hero. God bless you Denis the King
Managed to catch Dennis Law playing snooker in the Slieve Donard hotel Newcastle co Down in the early 70s along with a few more of the Scottish team .!!He came out told me and my friends to wait a few minutes he'd unfinished business with Bobby Lennox... True to his word he came out with most of the team and signed autographs chatted about football a great ambassador for the game...
My favourite utd player ever I went to Aberdeen from Leeds just to see where he was born 6 printfield terrace the door was red as well ha king Denis ❤️💪
He spoke at a sportsmans dinner in our sports club. We worked behind the bar, and after last orders, we had a break. Dennis came round and sat with us for 20mins! He was charming and actually doubled our tips! Very nice man. ❤
Great content. What sad times to be Utd Supporter,my uncle was the 1st Disabled Supporter allowed in back in the 50’s and they used to park his wheelchair by the centre tunnel if you remember him always had a red beret on? He took my brother in the sixties and then myself in the early 70’s. I packed in my ticket about 6yrs ago but it never leaves you, been lucky to get many invites and I’ve gone to lots of games since but it’s dreadful and mis managed from the Glazers and I’m keeping it clean on that subject. I hope to God that INEOS can have success but it’ll take years and I for one am not a fan of Ten Hag. Being a Liverpool supporter I don’t often praise anyone associated with our biggest rivals but he was a Utd legend a class act for a Scot!!!! YNWA
Denis walked straight off the pitch and into the home dressing room after scoring that goal. It didn’t relegate United in actual fact. But symbolically it felt like it did. I was there on the Stretford end that day. JG
I started supporting united from 79 cup final onwards..so only seen him from videos...he was clinical and composed, his name will always be mentioned when ever the history of Manchester United is shared... deserves every bit of respect afforded him
I was at junior (primary) school 1972/3 and Dennis opened a factory near our. school in Hindley Green , Wigan. Couldn't wait for school to finish and meet him and get his autograph. Imagine one of today's Superstars ( as Dennis was) opening a factory when at the height of their career. Great memory!!!!
My dad watched Law when he played. He always insisted that Denis was the best of the United Trinity. Sir Matt Busby himself rated him the best player he'd ever managed!
I think evenings like this remind us how great our club is and we will get back to number 1 where we belong in time. Ive great faith in INEOS. Great video and a great channel!! Denis Law, a True Legend.
Great viewing and a lovely tribute to King Denis.Whenever I leave the Stretford End after a match I always give his statue a friendly tap before I go down the stairs.
Thanks. Once filmed a scene with Denis at that statue for the first documentary i made with him for mutv. a lot of fans never get to see it. hope it survives whatever happens to the stadium.JG
Denis said Jimmy was the best and Jimmy said Denis was the best. The two of them would have walked into any team of any era. The great players of today are fitter but not better. Denis and Jimmy had like other greats (Pele, Maradona and Cruyff) to cope with brutal tackling, and sodden and bone hard pitches. They didn’t have the medical support / facilities, they didn’t have the diet knowledge, footwear and of course fitness techniques. I wonder how the Haalands of today would have coped then when Chopper Harris, Jack Charlton, Dave Mackay, Ron Yeats and Bill Foulkes for example came calling never mind the Italians, Argentinians, Uruguays and Germans who had a good number of ‘enforcers’. Denis is the King, now and always will be. My favourite player when I was a boy and still my favourite player now coming up 60 years later.
