Oh dear Lord! It just never ends! This is some of the kindest people we could ever meet, my heart just aches for them. Thank you Liz for some of the greatest information regarding Sales & Service in RV industry!
My friends and me have all bought travel trailers and they have all been in the shop when they were new. It’s crazy how it’s normal to buy a new Rv and know it will be in the shop soon .
In the beginning of my ongoing RV research I was looking at two Thor models among many others. A dealer I spoke with at a reputable dealership told me they don’t carry any Thor, and they also don’t carry Entegra or Joyco, which are also from Thor Industries. He didn’t say outright that Thor is junk, but I caught what he was trying to communicate. Everyone has their opinions and preferences so I never take one view as gospel, but in the meanwhile I’m convinced he was absolutely right about Thor. They are superficially great. Lots of bells and whistles, great floor plans, etc. but their rigs are carelessly slapped together and there’s truly zero quality control at any point.
I had a similar experience. When we were picking up our new Winnebago Travato just pre-pandemic - which was already signed in sealed, and we were just waiting for them to do a couple of add-ons for us - I was chatting with the sales guy. For no particular reason except that I was making fun of a huge trailer with four TVs that was parked next to our little B van. He said, "That's a Thor. I refuse to sell them. If a customer insists on buying one, I will turn them over to another salesperson." There was no advantage to him to tell me that because we'd already bought the little van, so I filed it in the back of my mind as something to pay attention to. And I've never heard of a Thor happy story. I'm sure there are some people who luck out, but I've never heard of one. So I can understand why as a salesperson, he wouldn't want the grief of unhappy buyers.
I watch five different TH-cam channels and they all been RVing, 5+ years each channel I have watched has said that things are not put together in RVs the way they used to be so I don’t think it’s just Thor I just think they don’t have the care they used to while putting RVs together they want to mass produce as many as they can so the quality of everything goes downhill at that point I am not an RV owner, but I am so grateful to these five channels that I watch because they tell me the truth on how things are done in the RV industry and when I am ready to buy my RV, I will definitely do a lot more research and I will definitely hire an inspector and I will tell their inspector that they need to check for leaks, and they need to check for every tiny itty-bitty thing known to man that might be wrong with the RV because I am not going to spend my hard earned money on a recreational vehicle that is going to give me problems. Other than regular wear and tear on the engine brakes. Another words regular maintenance I’m not going to make the dealers rich, when they don’t care, it’s the same as the makers of the Rv’s
There is Thor motorhomes and then there is Thor industries two different companies Thor industries is a big conglomerate that are just the owners or the holding company. Thor motorhomes is a manufacturer of RV’s. Thor industry bought Tiffin back a few years ago and they own a bunch more. But not the brand Thor.
101!!! way to go. Hair looks great. Poor Jim. Once again a manufacture that is sooooo bad. Love this series. Maybe throw in an update at the end of what you have been doing. Doesn't have to be long just a little after thought about you.
You actually want to get the federal government involved, L O L. Last week I read a story where the federal government paid $90,000 for a portable porta potty that didn’t work?
I hear so many bad things about Thor branded products it's a real shame. Liz nice job on reinventing your channel. Love it. I really like it before but now I really love it with all the really world experiences of other RV owners that you show.
I've heard so many bad things about Thor personally, but so many others are also doing a terrible job at giving us quality RV's, for our hard earned dollars! I'm feeling I lucked out, buying from the public a preowned Tiffin Phaeton, and as all RV's there are always little things to fix, so I've been keeping on top of them so far, but we've thought of perhaps trying a truck & fifth wheel, but again, so many issues with them as well, so I'm certainly not going to be in any hurry, as I usually research the heck out of things before purchasing. Thanks Liz, thanks for keeping us informed!
You met your goal of subscribers Liz. I am really enjoying these videos from people with RV problems. Thank God you are revealing these situations to the public. It just goes to prove that new doesn't mean you wont have trouble with your purchase which is a shame.
I don t even own a tent but I do admire your advocacy for trying to make the Industry and RVing the pleasure it should be. Much love from the GR8 White North.
I've been watching her videos pretty much from the beginning when she started this channel, and I don't know how to drive or even have a driver's license.😂
Hey Liz, Gary from Kansas here! I'm loving these videos. It's so sad how the manufacturers are putting out junk. Your videos are bringing awareness to those that want an RV. You keep going, girl!! Hope you are doing well! Have a good week, Liz!
WOW! My husband and I have been kicking the idea of a camper around for 2-3 years. I’m glad we didn’t jump in. Don’t want to be tied down to a depreciating maintenance nightmare. Thank you Liz for raising awareness about the realities of RV ownership. 😊
It's the new ones that are a problem. Not a good time to buy new, but trailers and fifth wheels built in 2019 and before tend to be well-built. The motorhome sweet spot is 2002 to 2008. Whatever you buy, join the Facebook group of the model to get the scoop from owners. And always get an inspection. Another advantage of buying used is the seller has typically gotten the kinks out. Thanks for watching.
NO. They should have to go through the stress to wake them up. It's how some people learn. Learn what is feasible and what is not. Losing your savings by purchasing one of these things is a teaching experience about what not to do.
Thanks again for sharing! I'm mostly commenting just to keep the YT algorithm happy. I'm starting to realize that even an independent inspection isn't going to be able to catch all this stuff because the workmanship is so bad and a lot of it is hidden. Devious how they keep the camper forever and then the warranty expires!
This story is so familiar. I cannot understand how Camping World and Thor can still be in business and continue to sell junk. I bought a 2022 Thor 24CM Coleman in April of this year. It had 3500 miles on it so pretty much new. I have only been able to use it three times for weekend trips over the course of the six months of ownership due to it developing leaks, electrical failure, stabilizer motor failure, slide motor failure, black tank pipe fracture that turned out to be duct taped, which we did not realize may have been hiding a fracture. It's been in shop for over two months and I visit every week for more lip service, so it sits in the tall grass in their "service" field. This motorhome was my retirement life plan. At 71, sell the house, and get on the road. I used every dollar I had saved to purchase and fit this out. Camping World has given me nothing but lip service. I finally cancelled my storage space fees that I was paying for while it sat in their "service area." And don't get me started on the extended warranty and roadside assistance policy they soaked me for. Not worth the paper it is printed on. I have cancelled several trips, using my car to camp for the ones that I could not cancel. I really want to unload it and buy one manufactured by someone else pre-pandemic. They are trying to get me to consign with them, but the trust has been ruined.
Thor sucks! In fact most of the industry manufacturers suck. Very few out there I would even consider purchasing. And most especially not new. I had a blow out about two years ago and while waiting for the four new tires to be installed I was talking with a service rep. I asked him which were the more dependable and which were the worst. This dealer had been in business for over 23 years. He told me Thor was the by far the worst they had ever seen on the market and the warranty work they were doing they weren't getting compensated for. The best unit he ever seen there they dont make anymore, King of the Road fifth wheels, and the second best in their opinion was Nu-Wa Industries Hitch Hiker and they dont make them anymore either. The quality was by far superior and worked themselves out of business. So they must make junk now so they can continue selling and repairing. It is a vicious cycle. Shame on anyone for not having a RV inspected by a certified inspector, especially when spending that kind of money. And double shame for ever making a purchase sight unseen! Live and Learn. Keep it between the lines!
A Friend of mine was looking to buy a Thor class C. He rented 1 for a weekend. He took it to a Truck Wash. He said it leaked like a Sive. He took it back to Dealer, told them he'd buy 1 that they would guarantee had no leaks. The dealer had a bunch of excuses but would not guarantee " no leaks ". They hounded him for 2 weeks until they gave up. In my opinion the entire camper industry needs regulated and guidelines put in play. Now they ( not all ) throw them together, take your hard earned money, and laugh all the way to the Bank.
It's the tons of buyers who expect a miracle that allow this to occur. Regulation won't solve dumb. Try driving your house down the road and have nothing break or leak. Box on wheels. Light enough to even move with a motor is not going to be durable. Suspension of common sense doesn't need regulation. Loss of $$ will regulate loss of common sense. You think regulation will make water run up hill? Or make gravity go away? That's just plain dumb.
I currently camp in a vintage tow behind trailer and have had a number of folks stop by to take a look at the camper for nostalgia sake and casually mention the build quality then compared to now. A few have admitted they hate their new RV mainly because what they paid compared to the build quality is nowhere to being equal. My next camper will be a self build cargo trailer to camper conversion. You couldn’t pay me to take a new RV/trailer right now. With the cargo to camper conversion I get my exact floor plan, I’m not paying for garbage I don’t need and since I’m installing the components I can act as the repair department, plus I’m saving money on overall cost, it only costs me my time and building talents. The manufacturers are pumping out garbage expecting the dealership to bear the brunt of the remediation but the dealership isn’t interested in customer service only profit so ultimately the consumer gets screwed by both.
A tip I can pass along for newbies: Have the dealerships go over everything with you and have them explain how everything works. When you get it home, go over everything again on your own. Fill the water tank. Hook up the city water. Run the sink. Flush the toilet. Run the appliances. Put out the slides. Better yet, leave the water system pressurized for a while and make sure you don't hear the water pump cycling and/or you have water appearing in strange places or dripping off the frame, because you may have a leak. Even brand-new RVs might have some loose fittings that need to be tightened, as the guy in this video found. Our brand new 2023 Wolf Pup had a couple loose hose fittings, but they were easy to fix.
I would do all that on the dealers lot before driving it out the driveway. Also do a hose test spraying the rv. Once you drive out the lot, it's yours.
I owned an 07 Fleetwood diesel pusher. Zero problems. Sold it. Bought a truck Camper. Host Cascade. Zero problems. No longer an RV’er. The best of time were traveling in my RV’s. Liz, you’re providing a great service to those new to the RV world. I cannot believe that the RV industry has gotten so bad.
Hi John. So glad you had some good ones. Those older ones are still on the road and are a great option for many, especially if they get an inspection. Thanks for watching.
As always, Liz, you're doing a beautiful job. Thank you so much. And this gentleman is so right, you get people with kindness. You get much further in life if you start the relationship or solving hickups by being kind.
Liz, I’ve always found your channel quite interesting. It looked at different aspects of full-time RV life and, like many others, presented good insights to your life on the road. Now that you’ve pivoted to scrutiny of the quality control associated RV’s themselves, I’ve really been drawn in. This content is much more unique and valuable to those of us who might be considering this life. Congrats on “hitting the sweet spot” for TH-cam tv enthusiasts and keep up the good work!
I support your mission , the manufactures need to seriously address this seeming unending decline in the quality coming out of their factories. The vendors supplying these manufactures also need to take a hard look at the quality of products they produce. We need to be pushing for effective Lemon Laws in every state.
Liz your doing a great job. Thanks to your efforts RV manufacturer's will have to pay attention if they want to sell anything. I think most sales are from word of mouth. I hope buyers will take the time to peruse your site for great information. We bought our first RV, A 2013 Thor Four Winds used in in 2017. It only had 11,000 miles and was very well kept. It did have an over cab leak from poorly sealed trim that I found and fixed. I found that most parts were average quality and anything I had to fix was because of poor installation. It seems that the people in charge don't realize that the glitter sells the unit but the quality sells the next one.
Hi LIZ. We have ben looking at all your RV interviews from owners of new rigs and all the problems the are going trough. I have a 2016 StarCraft TT and till this day have no problem with it. I retired 5 year and was ready to sell my TT this coming year and get a new Class C. Now seeing all the problem going on with motor home my wife and decided to keep our TT. Love the work you are doing. You are the voice for RVERS. P.S. We have ben looking at your adventures from way back.
Thor seems to be the common denominator in your videos. Please keep these videos coming, their information will be extremely helpful when we decide to replace our RV. Thank you Liz!
I'm looking to replace my existing TT and visiting dealers to see what's available (used). Boy, they'll tell you anything! They try to poo-poo my comments on obvious, glaring problems when I point them out. Wrinkled wallpaper from water damage? Oh, well, little lady, that's just the way the wallpaper was hung. Shower door off the track? Oh, that just needs to be snapped back in place. Crumbling caulk? Oh, that's an easy fix, ignoring the fact that if the caulk isn't maintained, the camper probably leaks! Makes me crazy.
@@petitchenilLOL I own a wooden boat! I remember telling my father that I was thinking about buying an old wooden boat to restore. He laughed out loud and said, are you crazy? Have you been kicked in the head? I then built a wooden, boat using Glen L plans, and I named it kicked in the head. The boat construction itself is top notch because I did all the work along with another fellow. However, the engine has failed.
Hi Liz...so sorry about the trouble that guy is having...Thor is terrible...they bought out our make just after we had ours made...so glad we got it before...keep up the good work and information...thanks for the video...stay safe...J&A
Have an independent inspection, even if brand spanking new. We bought our 2018 Airstream Classic from a TH-cam channel. They had documented everything on this rig, but my husband still wanted an inspection. It was worth every penny and the inspection was documented by the TH-camr/seller. Invaluable !
Yay, so glad it worked out for you. As you know, I mention getting an inspection on new or used in practically every video. But it can't be said too often because many people don't know. Thanks for watching and enjoy your Airstream!
Well, we picked up our brand new 2014 Winnebago Class A and took it on 2 trips & return it to the dealership. They fixed our 2 minor items & we have not had any trouble since. Its been 9 years & 15,000mi and we have spend just over 300 nights in the motorhome. GOOD JOB W!!!! !
Liz- Congrats on going over 100k followers. I look at articles about new RV’s and I always back away. Our 12 year old Tiffin Phaeton looks really good to me after I watch the videos of people suffering with their new motor homes. We know what we have and investing a few thousand dollars to keep it like new is way better than buying a 600k misery. Thanks for all that you do. Enjoy all of your videos. Safe travels.👍🏻❤️🙏
Thanks so very much for being here, Sammie, and for helping me get to 100k! It's true that older is the way to go these days. Hoping this series will wake up the RV industry to start making quality. Thanks for watching.
Keep showing these stories and naming the dealerships that don’t bother to fix the issues. We need to have an overhaul of the entire RV industry. Thanks for bringing it to the forefront. 😊
Liz, thank you soooo much for putting this information out there. We live full time in our camper and we have had issues from day 5 of owning a 2023! It really comes down to the quality of work and companies fixing the problems of their product!
Liz this is a great thing that you're doing I think we all need to come together and start boycotting the dealerships that do not stand behind their products and start steering people towards the ones that do. When they start loosing money they will get their act together.
Yes. What they are doing is not sustainable. A company cannot continue to put out poor quality and then not stand behind their product. All as it's going to take is one good company to step in and do it right. Then the others would either fall in line or go out of business. Thanks so much for your support, Don!
This latest series you have concerning RV quality has hit nerve on very many an RVer. I have experienced it myself as well as my family & friends. RV quality and workmanship has gone in the toilet during & since the pandemic. Thank you for sharing other’s situations - we all learn.
Liz I have enjoyed your videos and I feel they are possibly the most valued RV videos on the market todate. I have owned three Motorhomes over time and fortunately I have never experienced many of the issues shown in your videos. But, there is little question that the manufacturers of today are less interested in quality. I agree that showing these types of videos I hope will bring the manufacturers to the table and improve thier quality. I do not own a Motorhome now I sold my Thor last year and I am not sure I would buy another one. While I did not have major issues with my Thor motorhome I did have issues with Thor themselves when it came to warranty work. Keep up the good work.
I went through a factory tour in Indiana I couldn't believe how they threw RVs together & how much money they charge for them. I actually asked the tour guide about quality control & his answer was basically it was up to dealerships.
As a past class A owner who is very mechanically inclined, I can say I'm so glad I sold my unit. Can't tell you all the rv's owners I talked to over the years about water leaks. I owned a winnebago and it leaked from day one, I ended up fixing myself. Good luck to all you rv'ers I wish you the best. Great video.
A great interview with a seasoned rv person. It makes me sorry he has so much frustration to deal with at the time in life we want to lay this type of frustration aside.
Liz, it’s hopeless!! This poor couple. All the experience with RV’s to End up with this one !! Such a nice gentleman!! You are doing a great service with this topic, just praying manufacturers will come around someday!! Oh, day behind watching you video and after that sad story i had to go back and check your subs... Well one 100,000!! Yippie!!!!! Glad to see it and well deserved!!🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾( praying and clapping hands. lol) Stay safe God Bless
Thanks so much Bob!!! I am so excited to have reached more than 100,000! With this series, I am hoping the RV industry wakes up. All it will take is one company to do it right. The others will either fall in line or go out of business!
Our first class A was a Forest River FR3. It was a Hot Mess! That has to be the loudest engine ever, you could not have a conversation at highway speeds. There needs to be guidlines by the Industry to ensure some sort of QC.
I bought a vw eurovan in 2002. About 4 years of loving it and hating it. After 22 years of using it consistently I realized what a great experience I had
Wife and I had thoughts of selling it all and going the RV way,After watching these horror stories ,NO WAY!! We'll be doing the RV thing!! We'll keep the cabin tent and buy a better mattress!!
Sorry to hear this, Dave. Thanks for watching and hope to see you and your wife out here!
RVing is my favorite thing to do. We owned a class A and a class C in the past. Now that I retired, my plan was to spend 6 months traveling in the RV. I’m afraid to buy an RV because of the poor quality. I’m trying out air BnB’s instead of RVing. We’d just spent a wonderful month in PA in an air bnb, and plan to return.
Your best bet is to buy an older better quality RV and do lots of research before buying, and get an inspection. Here’s the rest of the story in the update, and thanks for watching: th-cam.com/video/yS5Q2eDcJpc/w-d-xo.html
Very good video, it almost would be worthwhile to buy a truck and build your own RV. That's terrible what these people are going through. Liz, this hair style suits you very well.
OMG! I had an RV service come and replace my awning fabric,he and his crew did a great job. Anyway, we were talking and I said my camper is 15 years old. He said your lucky you don't have a new one. They have so many issues.
The RVs made in Europe in particular Spain seem to be really well made, smaller, lighter and with really unique bathrooms and the prices are shockingly much, much cheaper. They are slowly coming to the American market due to people wanting smaller and more fuel efficiency but sadly the price doubles once they reach our shores.
This is why my wife and I have always planned on having a home base once we go full time. We built an RV pad w/full hookups and a shop building to keep all our stuff. We recently added a living quarters to the shop building just in case our new RV has to be in the shop for an extended period of time. It’s sad that you have to do things like this when you’re paying six figures for an RV. Thanks for continuing to try to hold the dealers and manufacturers accountable.
The number one thing you do before signing on the dotted line is get a good RV inspection. No inspection no I'm not buying. Blue Ox is the best inspectors out their in my opinion. A inspection is a must for me. Not all inspectors are the same.
Hotels can get old after a while. You want to sleep in your bed with your pillow. RV life is not for everyone, of course, but it really is great to travel with your bathroom, bed and fridge! And it's totally fine to get a quality used RV, just not a good time to buy NEW. Thanks for watching.
RV manufacturers should be required to provide 2 or 3 year warranties that automatically extend to the number of days that the RV is in a shop. The sad part is that no matter how good the warranty is there are not enough RV shops of quality to do the repairs. >>>ALSO NEVER BUY A FULL WALL SLIDE
Liz, it's so nice and refreshing that you are calling out bad dillers (is there any good ones?) and manufactures. we need more people like you.. thank you so much
Liz thanks for staying on top or these I'm planning on retirement in about 2 years thank God for your videos. I'm thinking twice now on getting a new RV.!!. Hopefully things will change by then . We keep looking at what's out there. Keep up the good work. Ill most definitely look at a used one 1st. .
I’d be pretty Thor about all of your troubles too! My biggest problem I ever had (several) was not with Grand Design but with the dealer I purchased my rig from! I would never, ever buy another rv from General RV! Poor service after the sale!
Great video. Unfortunately with slowing economy, rising rates and fewer buyers... highly doubtful rv manufacturers will up the quality on their units. Higher quality = more expensive to produce and consumers aren't in the best position to pay more.... I hope one day quality improves. Thanks for posting.
Another Thor disaster. (A Thob story.) I wonder if there are any happy stories with Thors. There's a young couple with a channel who have a Thor Tellaro B van they call "Mr. Lemon". And major things keep happening like the slider window just fell out. Driving down the road the bottom of the cabinet with their dishes in it started to fall apart. They have a little sign inside like the workplace industrial signs that says, "(x) Days Since Last Incident" Congrats for hitting/surpassing 100K!
Wow, thanks to this channel I have saved myself THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS! You wanna know how many problems I have had with my canvass tent? NONE! I'm going to keep it, it is camping after all, isn't it?
I don't know how it works in the USA but if this would happen in The Netherlands (where I live) you would get all your money back (non-conformity). It's crazy you would loose money for a camper that is a 'leaking wreck'.
Thank you Liz for doing this important public service for the RV community. The stories are flabbergasting. I don't understand how they get by with shoddy manufacturing of high-dollar investments.
I know it. I am pretty outraged by all this. Here’s the rest of the story in the update, and thanks for watching: th-cam.com/video/yS5Q2eDcJpc/w-d-xo.html
One thing that needs to happen is that a Japanese company will start manufacturing RV’s in this country. They would have good quality and that would force the American RV manufacturers to start making quality products just like what happened to the American car industry.
My advice is don't buy new!!! Find a gently used RV where the previous owner has taken care of the issues already. When you look at one, BRING A FLASHLIGHT!!! Open cabinents and storage, check for dampness or water. Check bathrooms and water storage areas for damp. Plus, keep in mind that a big slide means a good chunk of your RV will be open to water infiltration. LOOK HARD. Pay for an inspection if you need to. This is sad, but trust no one!!! Be your own best advocate. I always open the door and sniff hard, if it's funky I walk away. I have a Coachman class C now, well-built vehicle. A few issues when I got it but nothing like the folks I see here.
I have a customer who repairs high end RVs in the SoCal desert (Riverside county). First he tells me that NO one wants to work on anything older then about 5 years and that most of the techs want to work on brand new stuff because the warranty work pays better. He also tells me that hiring any techs that know what they are doing is almost impossible - they want ridiculous hourly pay and many don't really know what they are doing - some more complicated then changing engine oil or cleaning windows is a challenge. He says don't even expect the new younger guys to understand how to work on the rooftop AC units, searching and repairing leaks, anything to do with wiring and electrical, etc. Finally, the good independents really only want to work on the high end units - good luck getting someone fairly competent to work on a $15K travel trailer. The local dealers refuse to do warranty work on units they did not sell - so buy a trailer/camper in Idaho, come to SoCal for the winter and expect to get warranty work - good luck.
I could add all the stuff that happened with my camper. It’s too upsetting to write about. My happiest day was the day I got rid of it. All campers are junk.
she didn't really mention trying to get a hold of the Giant Rec world,,?? & I'm assuming she tried?.. & I'm assuming you aren't going to be able to make that late Oct trip you had planned?.. I live in Daytona, & I used to clean their windows 2x a month & there was NEVER a time I was there when it wasn't clear that a customer was having issues with them & the camper they bought there,,that alone told me a long time ago I would never deal with them, (once I am ready & able to start looking for my own) I am certainly leaning towards building my own out! I hope they make it right by you,, take crae!
The best I can remember seems like you had a customer several weeks ago with a Thor and they stepped up and helped him out the best I can remember Liz. I had make the statement that this makes me feel a little better about the Thor product support. I have heard that the quality of the Thor motorhome isn't that good from a lot of people so I did not want to make any kind of a statement off of I have heard. I'm just glad that I did not purchase that new Thor class A in Washington State several months ago, but purchased this larger, older motorhome. I feel like the older motorhome are, or were built a lot better. When I say older I'm talking about 2010 and older as far as class A motorhomes.
All you need to do is take a tour of a RV factory in Elkhart, IL (for those not in the know 80% of the RVs made in the World come from the area). You will be amazed at how cheaply and how rushed they are made. 98% of the employees are paid by the piece, and unfortunately 1/2 of the employees you most likely would not invite into your home. And these are the few factories that offer a tour. Can only imagine the goings on in the ones that don't offer a tour. You can drive by them, but they will look like abandoned, rusted out buildings with lots full of weeds and trash. Only evidence that it is an active site are a few shinny RVs sitting on the lot. Agree though, the RV industry has done itself in with poor quality, unfortunately it will most likely end up with government oversight, lemon laws, regulations etc, which will already drive up the overpriced RVs. .
My wife and I bought a new 2024 camper on September 8, 2023. It was in the shop from November 8, 2023 to December 21, 2023. The right side of the u-shaped dinette table was pulling away from the wall when the slide came in. The slide has a design flaw causing the floor to buckle a little. Just enough to cause the issue. The dealership fixed it per guidance from the manufacturer. So far it is holding up. Fortunately we are not full time campers and it is off season.

Please stop this trend. Please return to sharing new places with us.
😍✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️✌️happy to see you
I'm sure Thor is... thorry/not thorry about Jim's problems
Love my Lexus and staying at Hyatt hotels.
You know, a tent is sounding better and better

They are superficially great. Lots of bells and whistles, great floor plans, etc. but their rigs are carelessly slapped together and there’s truly zero quality control at any point.
100%
@@duaneclark3539 Thor Industries doesn't own Thor motorhomes???
101!!! way to go. Hair looks great. Poor Jim. Once again a manufacture that is sooooo bad. Love this series. Maybe throw in an update at the end of what you have been doing. Doesn't have to be long just a little after thought about you.
Liz you have a strong following on your channel, consider a petition to put before a congressman to focus on Consumer Protection Agency
Thanks for this, and for watching.
Consider being a congressman first.
You actually want to get the federal government involved, L O L. Last week I read a story where the federal government paid $90,000 for a portable porta potty that didn’t work?
Imagine taking your home shaking it's up and down forever , this reality of RV life , going have problems
I hear so many bad things about Thor branded products it's a real shame. Liz nice job on reinventing your channel. Love it. I really like it before but now I really love it with all the really world experiences of other RV owners that you show.
Thanks so much for your support and I'm so glad you like the new direction!
Congratulations Liz on reaching your goal of 100,000 subscribers!! All your hard work is paying off. 🥰🎉

I kicked the idea around for a decade. Quality of these campers has always been sus.

This topic is a bottomless honeyhole for videos for you! Congratulations on 100K!
What a nightmare! No one should have to go through this kind of stress. These stories are mind blowing.
NO. They should have to go through the stress to wake them up. It's how some people learn. Learn what is feasible and what is not. Losing your savings by purchasing one of these things is a teaching experience about what not to do.
@@aday1637 The dealers should but customers should NOT if they are treated like they are supposed to.
Not being used as intended. Supposed to build a shelter and park it underneath it. Never supposed to leave the pavement.
My take-away: stay away from all Thor products. Congrats Liz on hitting 101K subscribers!!!
Sure hoping they watch this video and straighten up. And THANK YOU! Sure appreciate you helping get me there!
Great Video! Its time to hold the RV manufacturers accountable
Yes indeed! Thanks for your support,Wayne!
Congratulations on surpassing 100,000 subscribers. 🎉
Thank you so much! Sure appreciate your help getting me there!
Great job, Liz and congrats on the 100k subs! well deserved.
Thanks Kathy. You helped get me there!
Liz, I think you are on a good you tube journey with these rv rigs. A lot better than the normal fix this and that…thanks

Liz, I’ve always found your channel quite interesting. It looked at different aspects of full-time RV life and, like many others, presented good insights to your life on the road. Now that you’ve pivoted to scrutiny of the quality control associated RV’s themselves, I’ve really been drawn in. Yay, so glad you like this turn of topics! I sure appreciate your comment and for you being here through thick and thin. Thanks Bill!
I support your mission , the manufactures need to seriously address this seeming unending decline in the quality coming out of their factories. The vendors supplying these manufactures also need to take a hard look at the quality of products they produce. We need to be pushing for effective Lemon Laws in every state.
Strong lemon law on RVs is the only way manufacturers will change.
@@earlhunt2815 I agree
It seems like buying and owning a new RV has become a royal pain!
Buying an RV period is a pain….
It's for people that don't mind tossing away good money... worse than when I owned a wooden boat!
@@petitchenilLOL I own a wooden boat! I remember telling my father that I was thinking about buying an old wooden boat to restore. He laughed out loud and said, are you crazy? The boat construction itself is top notch because I did all the work along with another fellow. However, the engine has failed.

Liz- Congrats on going over 100k followers. I look at articles about new RV’s and I always back away. Our 12 year old Tiffin Phaeton looks really good to me after I watch the videos of people suffering with their new motor homes. Another awesome video 😊
Keep showing these stories and naming the dealerships that don’t bother to fix the issues. We need to have an overhaul of the entire RV industry. Thanks for bringing it to the forefront. 😊
You are so welcome Irene. Stay tuned for more!
Awww, thanks so very much!
And the dealerships will say that quality is up to the manufacturers.
Actually not all the companies have the philosophy . A few have very extensive quality control programs

If the EU makers were smart they would be looking to open a factory in the US too.
Great video, these kinds of first person stories are the best kind.

I enjoy your videos Liz but getting CONVINCED my Titanium Status at Marriott Hotels is the WAY to go.
Agreed
Hotels can get old after a while. You want to sleep in your bed with your pillow. RV life is not for everyone, of course, but it really is great to travel with your bathroom, bed and fridge! And it's totally fine to get a quality used RV, just not a good time to buy NEW. Thanks for watching.
Good vid 👍
Thor is off my list for buying.

I’d be pretty Thor about all of your troubles too! My biggest problem I ever had (several) was not with Grand Design but with the dealer I purchased my rig from! I would never, ever buy another rv from General RV! Poor service after the sale!
Hi Ed! So sorry you went through that. Thanks for being here through thick and thin, and for watching. Have a great weekend.
Way to go Liz! Change the industry standards through your exposures.

They have a little sign inside like the workplace industrial signs that says, "(x) Days Since Last Incident"

One thing that needs to happen is that a Japanese company will start manufacturing RV’s in this country. They would have good quality and that would force the American RV manufacturers to start making quality products just like what happened to the American car industry.
Great job Liz! So sad for these folks. It’s just terrible that people have to deal with issues like this on brand new units.
I know it. I'm so ready for the RV industry to wake up and commit to quality and customer service. Thanks for watching
This guy is too nice. I wouldn't give the RV company any concessions and would DEMAND satisfaction.
Yep. Hoping his problems are all behind him soon. Thanks for watching.
So sorry he is going through this. Kudos for sharing his issues for the benefit of others.
Yes, I thought he did a great job, too. Thanks for watching.
God bless that guy,
I know it. Here’s the rest of the story in the update, and thanks for watching: th-cam.com/video/yS5Q2eDcJpc/w-d-xo.html
Agree though, the RV industry has done itself in with poor quality, unfortunately it will most likely end up with government oversight, lemon laws, regulations etc, which will already drive up the overpriced RVs. .
101k Wow! Great videos always.
Be careful Liz
Thank you! I just want people to get what they paid for.
Congratulations on the 100k! 🎉🎉🎉
101K!!! Congratulations!
I was considering buying a new Thor. Thanks for the heads up.
I bought a 2019 Thor Challenger, sold it in 2021!!!
It was in the shop more than on the road!
Never a Thor again!!!
