I love this episode. Seeing Archangel’s desperate attempt to escape and Freedom’s arrival is arguably one of the best Anime scenes ever. The activation of the cyclops was also a moment I can never forget.
At the same time what even charged the Cyclops? Did they manage to get bulky and expensive fusion running to replace fission on large enough facilities (And of course only used it for the military despite the power crisis, because the EA are nasty)
The music when you see the Freedoms back in front of the Archangel is still the most chills I've gotten out of a gundam series. Still my favorite moment in my favorite gundam series even 20 years later.

I think its one of the reasons the Freedom is my Favorite Gundam ever. I love it even over the Strike freedom. I know its not the most powerful, or the most Iconic, But something about the freedom just speaks to me.
I have revisited this episode and scene more times than I can remember or count for. I still get goosebump when Meteor plays till this day as a 28 year old. Two decades later into adulthood and my soon to be born first child, this nostalgic & iconic moment really makes me emotional for all kinds of reasons. _This was my childhood, and it was awesome_

I am 38 now but this episode really hits the most. Not only of the entrance but the subtle message it brings. Kira calling out to both forces to cease fighting for them to be spared from the Onslaught of Cyclops is notable. its true a war is going on and lives are going to be lost but to sacrifice all those lives is disturbing. writing a battle scenario like that is messed up. and it happened in real life as well.. just shows nobody really wins in a war as lives are lost on both sides.
This anime describes how people hope for peace. How much was sacrificed for the war. Even innocent souls suffer when they are in a war situation. Children lose parents, parents lose children. Friends must be against each other because their countries are enemies. If only, there was someone who can with his strength he could disarm them, then this world would be peaceful without war. Hope for the Middle East, hope for peace in the world
I thought this when I watched it long ago, and I still think this now but Kira saying "PLEASE LEAVE AT ONCE" while also filling the sky with explosions is hilarious.
l absolutely love how the comments adore one of the grandest mobile suit entrances ever with the Freedom's appearance here. Add to that the very fitting Meteor theme, and you got yourself one of the best and most epic scenes in the Gundam franchise. This scene was also the reason why I liked the Freedom. The script never fails to surprise me even if this is like a 3rd or 4th time watching it. Kira annoucing to everyone to retreat due to a nuclear bomb by simultaneously blasting multiple units like a mini nuclear bomb himself. The layering of irony is seriously sublime.
I already liked the Strike Gundam, but when Seed was airing on Toonami I missed so many episodes I didn't care..... Then this episode happened.... And I've watched Seed more times than I can count to this day. I fell in Love with the Freedom immediately, and has been my favorite ever since, only surpassed by the obvious Strike Freedom.
Yzak was supposed to be the pilot of Freedom gundam. He knew the gundam but sub translation sounds he doesn’t know because of the direction translation . ( He sounds knew it in Japanese btw)
SEED had more popularity rating because of the start of the story. Destiny was just a version copy of the previous, if you noticed the progress is a bit redundant. However I do agree the Gundams in Destiny are more cooler design and function wise haha. Part of the reason of Destiny having lower rating than the predecessor is because of Shinn, its just really hard to like the guy for most of the fans.
I don't know about 'best' Gundam show. I would dock points for Seed muddling combat choreography. Half the time, it's hard to tell what the Archangel is doing or why Murrue Ramius is doing "twenty to port". With that said, Seed does make for an excellent space opera. The director did their job very well in writing character conflict.

Gundam Seed Destiny is the best Gundam anime in my opinion. In terms of image quality and various Gundam forms, it is also very extraordinary.
too bad Gundam Seed Destiny shin is not main. still kira and arthurn
SEED had more popularity rating because of the start of the story. Destiny was just a version copy of the previous, if you noticed the progress is a bit redundant. However I do agree the Gundams in Destiny are more cooler design and function wise haha. Part of the reason of Destiny having lower rating than the predecessor is because of Shinn, its just really hard to like the guy for most of the fans.

I don't know about 'best' Gundam show. I would dock points for Seed muddling combat choreography. Half the time, it's hard to tell what the Archangel is doing or why Murrue Ramius is doing "twenty to port". With that said, Seed does make for an excellent space opera. The director did their job very well in writing character conflict.
