    ported LT2 is the best bet for FBO builds... pretty awesome value even if you pay for the GPI mods

    What is the size of the shock tower brace bushings and what did you use to make them?

    What did you put in the spot were the original c8 map sensor went

    Did you use the cover? I got mine on but it doesn't have much clearance not sure if its going to hit when I gun it and the motor rocks

    do you reuse that heat shield cover that is under the stock lt1 intake manifold?

      You can but would need to trim it a bit

    Wait I thought the brake booster line was 3/8 also? No?

      Honestly I remember it being different than I thought. Not the line hole I tapped. The line is 1/2 press fitting

    Do you sell these kits yourself ? I was trying to get one from gpi lol. But I live in California. Or do you just have multiple for your buddies cars? I’m trying to get my hands on one already ported . And the back ribs grounded down. And pretty much plug and play for the lt1

    Can you advise the thickness of the strut tower brace spacers required

    Did you keep the foam or fix it to fit under the manifold ?

    Thanks for the info, may I ask why it won’t fit a C7?

    • @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast
      @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The hood won't clear. Which is no biggie but the body cowl won't clear either. It just won't fit unless you cut the body and obviously that's not worth it.

    Do you remember what the size of the bolts are for raising the shock tower brace?

    • @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast
      @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I had to get longer if that's what you're referring to. As far as length, I just took the stock bolts to ace hardware and got something about 3/4 of an inch longer. Sorry don't have the measurements though. The size of the head is 13mm so 13mm socket fits.

    I have the MSD atomic, what's the advantages over it?

    • @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast
      @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Msd and the c8 make the same power. The c8 manifold when not in short supply like it is right now is only $220 ish or less. Cost about 300 for everything. Both ported the msd will typically make a couple more hp. They're very similar results. Msd looks better obviously. There's a video on here where it was tested on a dyno back to back.

      @@ClaytonYatescarenthusiast thanks for the reply! So far I have e85, msd atomic, muffler delete, tune amd holley cold air intake. So far it really is a joy to drive. I now have one year left and its payed off. Then I'm gonna add headers, cam and nitrous.

      @@MICKSHRED nice, sounds like a fun setuo. who tuned your setup? Any power numbers? I'm excited to put on some catless long tubes and ported c8 manifold with the bigger throttle body and see how it does.

      @@ClaytonYatescarenthusiast a friend who owns exodus tuning out of austin TX, hasnt been dynoed, he will have one soon. He just started his shop after a few years of working out of his garage. I met him shortly after I bought mine around 16'. If i had to guess I'd say I'm making about 440 or maybe 450 whp with e85. I think I'm gonna go with pray performance remote tune to see if there is any power left on the table

    Looking to go this route, and would love to know what size bushing it took to make the strut tower brace fit. Thanks!

    • @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast
      @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They are 3/8 of an inch I believe. Ace hardware typically has a pretty good selection of these different spacers and what I did was just set my strut tower brace on after the manifold was on and just kind of lifted it up a little put little pieces of plastic and stuff underneath it until it got to where I feel like it would have enough clearance even with the motor moving and then measured that. You could probably go a little more but at some point you got to worry about the strut tower brace hitting the hood.

      @@ClaytonYatescarenthusiast perfect will definitely get the LT2 since there is enough room for the intake and hood. Thanks for the help.👍🏻

      Yes I believe it is. I actually haven't started on the second manifold yet and it's been awhile since I've looked at it. As soon as I start on it I'll come back and update this comment if it's a different size tap.

    What manifold bolts did you use

    • @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast
      @ClaytonYatescarenthusiast  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Stock ones. I've reused them 4 times now and they seal up everytime really good. Forgot the tq spec but it's low like in the inch pounds and found on a forum somewhere. Also they're odd cause looks like they stuck in stock manifold but are not. Just wiggle and they'll come out. Don't be scared to be a little aggressive removing the stock bolts from stock manifold. I was a wimp about it then when I got one out realized how easy they come out.

      Not yet I Rev it there all the time on track. But hopefully I can do a cam, lifters, and springs soon and avoid issues. Thanks for letting me know though cause don't want that to happen
