Divorce is not a bad thing. It gives the other a chance to live again. Not all marriages are meant to save. Specially the abusive, narcissistic ones or other types.
I married a brick wall. He has no emotions. He’s boring. He has no personality. I will feel so liberated when I finally divorce him. He’s been bottling everything up for the past seven years (since I met him). I don’t want to be around when he finally explodes. He has never opened up to be. I need to start running.

Dave Ramsey also often says money problems aren’t the issue but the symptom. It’s definitely the case for me. How can he love, like or respect me if I’m working 2 jobs and he’s embezzling family funds towards a failing business?
I was the "sally sue" until his spouse passed away. We married a couple years later. He made me feel all three of these..The marriage lasted almost five years before..he made it known I had to leave. Never any respect.Almost like our marriage was my punishment...
I feel men come and go as they like or as it suits their convenience and.fancy. we women are just toys for them. And look today they give marriage advise and portray themselves such good souls.....hahhaa...what an irony
My reason was this; my husband and I grew up together (n=married at 19 and 21) and we grew apart over the years. After our two sons grew up and left the nest we did not have much left. He wanted to play, party, golfing, playing soccer, baseball, canoeing on the weekends, and be with his work friends. I had endometriosis was in pain and had no interest on those things anymore .I was interested in photography, the arts, reading, kayaking etc. I raised our boys pretty much alone, and I now craved, peace, quiet and rest to stop my pain. and exhaustion.
This is exactly how i feel with my situation, money is not an issue but the symptoms, i can’t fully give myself.

Kids, friends, colleagues.
She puts more energy and initiatives with them. Doesn’t do anything with me.
I actually get anxiety when the kids come home from break. Ignored.
No reciprocity. If something makes her feel good I want to do more of it. She avoids things that make me feel good or if she does it she thinks and says something like, “I rubbed your shoulders last year, I do it all the time.” Or looks at me with disgust if I ask to have a shoulder rubbed.

Sometimes you can't do enough, sometimes people are not well. I have faults and most defiantly contributed to the problems A simple conversation may have fixed it.

I get it. It makes sense, but this information feels like my parents generation. It’s all about healing your own inner wounds and learn to emotionally connect! This information needs to go a few layers deeper.
This man is older yes... and I see it as a pro, because he has so much life experience, if I need advice I would take it from an expert not a beginner.

In my opinion, married couples who have kids under 18 should NOT be allowed to get divorced, unless there is abuse, drug or alcohol addiction, adultery, or some other criminal activity happening. It is incredibly traumatic for young children. Getting a divorce just because you want to f*ck someone else is unbelievably selfish when you have children depending on you. Just wait until they graduate high school to find "true love" or whatever.

Some guys can just tolerate the whole thing and still stay in their awful marriage because they are too lazy or too scared to handle a divorce. Hahaha
I think if you had kids, it becomes more than about you, and the two of you have to provide a safe stable environment for them for 20 years.

He'd rather do for us than with us. I'm not worth it to him to put in the effort to plan a date or ask me for one. But for his cute, single, childless coed coworker he takes a week to plan a playdate hiking with her down to his outfit. And shares that with me to rub it in my face before galavanting to a town an hour and a half away with her. Yeah. Right, Buddy. Only lying to yourself, there ;o)
