I bought one off a young couple last year who bought a house and the mower was in the garage left by the previous old owner, runs like a dream and serviced it this year through watching some of your vids, keep up the good work.
Another great video Mick. As the others have said: well done on passing on the freebies to the chap who probably had to pay the mower shop for lot fixing it. You’re a gentleman and a scholar. 👍
There is loads of lawnmower parts I wanted for my Haytor harrier 41 and there was plenty for sale from the USA including tools I want but the postage cost always out weighs the cost of the product. Maybe next year when the UK have a trade deal with the USA we can get product from the USA at a cheaper postage rate. From China it's free but we'd all like to have well made products from the USA. Good video Mick.
Good vid Mick. When I seal pull cords I alway lick my fingers. I once got hot plastic stuck on my finger which really hurt. Wetting the fingers stops anything sticking. You might want to try it. You're a nice and generous man giving the parts away. Most people wouldn't. All the best Pete
Awesome, many thanks, had a main jet blockage, been surging for a while now it runs spot on. I nearly set fire to the thing and got a new one, but what with fuel prices, had a tinker. 🙏🏼

Hi Mick - Interesting that you use WD40 (Water Displacement hence the WD) over a convention carb cleaner. very interesting and informative video non the less - thanks for taking the time to share.
I love the old Hayters. A great video Mick, I’ve serviced a couple this week, I am thinking of getting an oil extractor. Great channel fella, keep up the great work
I don't have the first idea about engines. But my 41 just won't start anymore. Money is tight. I think it maybe the carburetor. Let's say I take it all off clean it up. And it still won't work. What's my next point of call? I enjoyed the video by the way.
@@themowerman spark is good. We took engine apart sprayed and cleaned carburetor and no joy apart from a few splutters. I think the Coil is the way to go, spot on advice, you must see it all the time. Unfortunately it seems with my model number I'm going to have to pay around the £40 mark when I hoped I could get away with a cheaper Coil, ones that are being sold for the briggs and Stratton engines around the £15 mark. Price must be due to age. But fact is I have had this mower for 11 or 12 years it cost me £175 plus the fuel to drive to Staffordshire. And it was money well spent, it earned me much more than that during my work as a gardener and many more years after in my own garden. These mowers are built to last. And mine has probably spent over half of that 11, 12 year time outside in all weather's including snow.
@@Matt-mb6uo if your spark is consistently good then it won't need a coil. (exception being if it starts but when it gets hot it starts to sputter or cut out) but that doesn't sound like your scenario with just a no start. Check you've got decent compression with it being so old. Check your carb bowl is free filling
Love your channel, hayter harrier 41 with box air filter won't choke poper. Standard gov spring fitted only last year. Would appreciate a tip I did what you showed on the video. But still no joy🤔. Be well 😉
